Default TDA Tournament Series

Sign-Ups for the 10th are up!

http://www.playdota.com/forums/26242...thread-7-10-a/

Hi everyone, and thanks for reading. This post is regarding an upcoming tournament series in TDA. The basic framework will follow that of SECS (If you’re unfamiliar, go ahead and read up on SECS at NADota.com!) and will last for ten weeks. Here is the first tournament presentation:

Overview:

We will allow for sixteen teams weekly (this number may fluctuate up or down). A sign-up thread will be created on the TDA forums. Basic format will look like this:

Team [Name]

Core:
Merlini (Mer-lini)
Sayuri (Sayuri.)

Others:
Fear (FearDarkness)
March (March-)
Jo (Protease)

You will have to list two core players. Both core players will have to play in EVERY match of that specific week. If your team switches core players, your tournament seed will be reset. You must list EVERY potential “other” player that might play for your team that specific week. (It is better to be liberal here! If there are 16 teams signed up for that week, and you make it to the final game, that’s 4 hours of Dota, with break periods. Make sure your team can make it to every game.) You may have up to 8 “other” players.

Both core players MUST be safelisted for a team to participate. At all times, the majority of the team must be safelisted, in addition to the two core members. (In example, at least 1 “other” player must be safelisted).

The first week, every team will be put into a hat, and their seed randomized. Your seed is important for a couple of reasons:

If there are only 15 teams that show up, the first seed will get an automatic Bye and not have to play the first game.

Higher seeded teams get the host advantage over lower seeded teams.

Hosting:

The ONLY acceptable hosts will be: Listchecker used in the United States or a Hostbot located in the United States. This means no DR programs like VCK. Sorry, but for the sake of stable hosting within a tournament environment, these are the only two acceptable hosting methods. Hostbots will be available to matches that have no host methods.

A higher seed will always have the right to use their hosting over a lower seed’s. After the first week, points will be allotted to each team based upon tournament participation.

Seeds/Points:

Failure to Show -2 points
First Round Participation 2 points
Second Round Participation 3 points
Third Round Participation 4 points
Fourth Round Participation 5 points
Victor 8 points

Seeds will be determined by points, after the first week. Brackets will be drafted by seed, and usually should be available within 12 hours of tournament start time (sometimes earlier).

If two teams are tied for a seed, the team with the most tournament participation (number of tournaments attended) will earn the seed. If two teams are STILL tied, they will be randomized.

Rules:

Item Limitations:

Only (2) Necronomicons may be used or purchased on each team.

Only (2) Arcane Rings may be used or purchased on each team.

Bottles must be returned to the owner (if borrowed) in a timely manner. (You may not keep another player’s bottle for longer than 5 minutes total time). Pooled bottles will be treated differently than bottles that are accidentally exchanged. If both players have a bottle and accidentally exchange them, as long as both players retain a bottle, it will be allowed. If an enemy player steals a bottle, it does not have to be returned.

Ring of Health may be exchanged freely with no time limit.

Tangos, Clarity Potions, and Teleportation scrolls may be exchanged at a rate of 500 gold/max per 7 minutes of play time. Pooling is not allowed.

Only (3) Guinsoos may be used or purchased on each team.

Gameplay Limitations:

Backdooring will be allowed, due to the new anti-Backdoor implement.

No blocking creeps with Fissure, Sprout, Toss, or any other spell/ability.

No blocking an entry to a base by Fissure.

No exploitation of new or old bugs will be tolerated.

The use of Third-party programs is restricted to: Auto-Warkey, Dotakeys, Hotkey Scripts, ListChecker, Banlist. No other third-party program will be allowed. In the event of a team member using illegal programs, the ENTIRE team will be penalized.

Unless a save has been used before the 10 minute elapsed time, there will be no remakes (unless agreed upon by both teams. First blood must still be awarded to the same team, using the same amount of mana. In example, if a Vengeful Spirit and Sven firstblood a DP, the VS and Sven both must stun, if they both used stun to receive the original first blood).

In the event of a remake, all players must select the same hero, and start with the same items, in the same lane. Once initial creep contact occurs, players may switch lanes.

In the event of unplayable lag, a team may request a remake. If both teams agree, a remake will be awarded. (FB clause still applies).

Observers:

Only tournament staff, TDA staff (who are NOT participating in tourney) and approved Shoutcasters will be allowed to observe. Both teams must agree upon observers before a match. Tournament Staff will always have the option to suggest an approved observer for a particular match. (This will mostly be for tournament growth and publicity.)

Win Conditions:

Completely destroy the Frozen Throne or Tree of Life.

Should any team violate tournament rules, Tournament Staff retain the right to disqualify them from the tournament, and award free win to the opposing team.

A majority Forfeit vote (3/5) may occur any time after 15 minutes.

Disqualification:

Disqualification will occur if any team violates the Tournament rules, or as judged appropriate by tournament staff.

If disqualified, a team must contact the tournament head and request re-entry to sign-up for any following tournaments. Tournament staff reserves the right to ban any disqualified teams from future tournaments.

A team will be disqualified if late beyond the late-allowance rules.*

Schedule:* (Day to be announced).

Round 1: 3pm EST
Round 2: 4:15 EST
Round 3: 5:30 EST
Final Match: 6:45 EST

No team may be later than 15 minutes to any match, and may not exceed a total time of 25 late minutes in a single tournament.

Teams are responsible for checking and adhering to all tournament rules.
Thank you, and good luck! (You may sign up at PlayDota.com, a thread will be up shortly).

Sayuri & Merlini

I believe if it's Bnet than most Asia teams won't be able to participate
But then again, since host/hostbots are from USA so there really is no point
Anyways, good luck with the tourney

Hey, I was active on the Dota-allstars Forum and After some while I wanted to be a part of the TDA-community, I wanted to get safelisted, I made a safelist request, the forum-request; Safelist Application for Alibambam - DotA Allstars Discussion

But It said that this won't be done anymore; how can I play TDA games?
