Terrain becoming weapon is overrated imo, I think the main use of it will be leaving a trail of destruction so you know where you've been in case you get lost in the labyrinthine levels.

Teleporting to a switch just to crush a bunch of skeletons? Lol more than likely suicidal in HC Hell difficulty. Only Mario would do something like that!

Terrain users are teh gay, classes that use terrain are even more gay.

Seen the Geomancer class in FF? Gay.

I'm a-ok with classes that 'use' terrain; my fave class in D2 is Druid

Is anyone getting really, really fed up waiting for the new patch/reset in d2?

I have played D2 off and on for over 7 years and I HATE d2 right now because:

- the entire economy is based on HRs (99% of which are duped)
- enigma is obligatory on almost all classes, even fucking barb. that being said, 99% of them are duped themselves or come from dupes HRs
- the current skill synergy system is awful. it leaves only 1-2 viable builds per class. it is impossible to have even a semi-competent bow/javazon, shapeshifting druid, throwing barb, frozen orb sorc, psn/bone necro, all of which were staples in pre-1.10 gameplay. Now the only viable classes are summon/curse necro (ubering), smiters, and of course the hammerdin
- hammerdins are honestly the most inexcusably overpowered characters in the game...literally only one monster in the game which has ANY sort of resistance to hammers
- monster spell immunities in hell are too much (a level 90, fully geared frozen orb sorc cannot kill a zombie in the blood moor on hell difficulty. don't you see something wrong with that?)...I really believe they should max it out at 80-90% resist, immune is a joke
- over-reliance on Runewords (e.g. BotD, HotO, CTA, Infinity, etc.) for a character to stand a chance in PvP or Hell difficulty. also, these all required the afformentioned duped HRs
- the Diablo Clone spawn is possibly the WORST idea ever created. it not only encourages, but directly REWARDS soj dupers...and also gives them a NEW op item to dupe, the anni charm.

Please tell me there are some wizened d2 players here that agree with me =(

It's honestly not even fun to play and i hope to GOD the long-overdue 1.13 patch/ladder reset makes it enjoyable again.

That being said, I'm pumped for d3 out of my mind. Wishful thinking, but come Spring 2010 I will be glued to my computer screen.

Yea I know, I don't really like the synergies either, and I'll never build the hammerdin.

As for relying on Runewords, it's possible to beat the game without them, but it's tough.

I don't PvP since the PvP aspect doesn't seem very well implemented to me.

Based on what the diii forums are saying (previously known as the diabloii.net forums), they must be new classes since the only class from d2 that didn't get corrupted or go insane was that one barb.

As for Blizz going for something "completely different" they've already abandoned that! It's already looking somewhat similar. Barb is like the barb, Witch Doctor is like a necromancer, Wizard is like a sorc although more action oriented than spell spamming.

I'm looking forward to fighting corrupted, demonic barbs. Imagine the 3 Ancients barbs but all huge and evil?? Can't wait!

Its bad to rely on one element. That's where Meteor comes in.. But I admit there are certain mini-bosses that are Immune to Fire, Immune to Cold, Immune to Physical. How the hell can you kill those?

The most difficult for the Sorc to kill would be Duriel in Hell. No space to teleport around + slow aura = dead.

There's still one year to wait. Though many says that Diablo 3 will be requiring better specs than the standards. Maybe I should upgrade my specs next year.

Nightmare, not hell. In nightmare you keep running out of mana, whereas hell you have basically unlimited mana for teleporting, so it's teleport+orb or whatever primary attack until he's dead. I solo'd duriel with a sorc on hell (single player, no cheats) and finished him off without dying once or leaving his room once.

I wish they would release more class information already, I want to know what other types of characters we can make and if any more old classes are returning at all.

From what I've seen so far of it, it looks a little too much like a console game the likes of dungeon siege. Knowing blizzard I know (and hope) it doesn't go this way. It should stick to the gloomy environment d2 was known for, plowing through hordes of minions with devastating ease (at higher levels). One thing I think would be nice (which so far it looks like) is to make the bosses considerably harder. Nothing's challenging except for pvp in d2.

Blizzard is still loyal to the PC, so they won't go anywhere near that console bullshit.

The thing that made d2 so addictive was the economy to it. Items were everything.

I think they will be implementing a similar if not more addictive economy aspect to d3.

We got one year to live. Then we are all f*cked.

Still worrying a bit about the colors and all,but im expecting tomes with epic
stories/poems and creepy music to balance them.Just the force of nostalgia will
be a huge boost to the game.In blizzard we trust. *crosses fingers*

A free chill down the spine for the heck of it:
I can see what you see not.
Vision milky, then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone,
Whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be,
Shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind,
Cast down into the Halls of the Blind.

Book of the Blind-D1
