When you left, you were very cold (from what I assumed was real life pressure). Now, your personality is similar to how it was before you started writing your book yet you still retain this odd air of formality.

We have a spy in our midst! How did you know about my beard?!

Seriously though, since RL wasn't so kind to me lately, I have forgotten to shave periodically and thus look like Old Master Q, albeit significantly shorter than his beard.

Ah. That brief stint of personality here was influenced by many things, majorly of which was something that this sub-forum was slowly turning into. I was careless that time, so I ask for apologies.

Didn't IceFrog mention in the past that he was going to use the old Shadow Demon model (the gnoll) for a new hero in the future?

Apparently, Anub'arak's Urna Swarm was replaced by another skill. IF said that he's going to use Urna Swarm for a different hero.

A gnoll with Urna Swarm as skill? Sounds very interesting

I'm agnostic-atheist now, btw.

What did happen to that book, anyways?

Your previous statement was definitely a non-sequitur in the conversation, but I'm pretty sure you're entitled to your belief.

As for the book, it got canned. Couldn't finish it. *shrug*

^ No. I do write, managed to submit a couple of essays, articles or literary pieces in a few e-newsletters, but it doesn't earn me any monetary gain. It's more of a hobby, which I lost time for lately.

Wow, that's definitely a big step up from fan-fictions alone. Which genre do you write in?

^ I mostly write in corporate or medical thrillers a la Crichton or Grisham. I do delve in fantasies. Much of my written work lately focused on everyday life, though. A pseudo-drama, if you catch my drift. I find them easier to write, and they are more free-flowing and much less stressful to develop, in my opinion.

I am entitled to my own beliefs but the reactions I get are usually negative. In fact, my mother called me a Satanist. I've grown a dislike for Catholics.

@Kriegskanzler

Let me guess, you're a medic? :P

Tough career choice, but a calling for some.

@Luckyisthename

True, you are entitled to your own beliefs, but I wouldn't hate all Catholics for it. It's usually the individuals, not the religion, that are bigoted and judgemental. I personally know a lot of Catholics who are fine and friends with Atheist, and vice versa.

I myself am a Christian, LITN, but I don't mind atheists. I have a couple agnostic friends, and I don't mind. We know our rights, and respect them.

@ Varya: Nope. I'm a medical student, currently.

@Kriegskanzler

Ah, excuse my uni slang. We call medical students 'medics'. Not particularly accurate, I know.

Hate is a strong word. I just personally don't like the Catholic half of Christianity because of the nature of the religion's history and how a portion of its population behaves. I have a bias towards Catholics, but I don't "hate all of them".

@ Varya: Ah. That's a rather curious shortening of the word.

@ LITN: Fair enough. The history of Catholicism does have a very tumultuous timeline, very far from the solitude it manifests today.

I harbor similar reactions when I give my views that contradicts a lot of the teachings although I insist that I'm a Catholic (perhaps leaning on the "Folk" rather than "Roman" because of some syncretic practices and yes, a lot of Filipino Catholics technically belong to such classification without them even noticing it).

Perceived notion is a huge factor in gaining opinions and in such a culture where atheism and agnosticism isn't common, it is to be expected.

My Catholic theology teacher once held a pray-over for me when I once said in a recitation that atheists can develop moral values without the guidance of religion.
Views on religions aside, she's a very nice lady.

I'm Christian myself, but am similar to Krieg in that I respect other's beliefs. I can completely understand people who are agnostic. I'm not a fundamentalist Christian though, and I believe in the majority of evolution (Although not that humans evolved from primates). Quite a few of my friends are agnostic or atheist, and I'm fine with that.

@Lucky: Yeah, there are a lot of Christians who want to ban everything. Which I'm fine with, as long as they only effect themselves and not others. As someone once said "Religion is a lot like a penis. A lot of people have one and that's fine, but don't go whipping it out in public and ramming it down people's throats".

@PE: I don't believe a religion is necessary for morals, but a lot of religions do have good life lessons as well (Take the 10 Commandments by themselves for example).

Also are the Philippines heavily Christian? I ask because in Australia being agnostic/Atheist is pretty much the norm, and wouldn't draw any real hatred.
