Default [IMPLEMENTED][Tweak] Minor Hand of Midas change


Based on "the minor the change, the better to accept".

Hand of Midas

Preserved through unknown magical means, the Hand of Midas still retains much of its original potency.

Components:

+

List of Components
  • Gloves of Haste (500 Gold)
  • Recipe (1400 Gold)
Grand Total: 1900 Gold

Old Stats
  • +30 attack speed
  • Transmute(Active)
New Stats
  • +30 attack speed
  • Transmute(Active)

Transmute:
Kills a target non-hero non-ancient unit, giving bonus gold
Gives the unit's normal bounty twice, as well as an additional gold bonus that varies from unit to unit
Gives the unit's normal experience twice.
Costs 25 mana and has a 100 second cooldown

In Depth Information

- 1900 gold for 30 IAS can help, mainly, the DPS of lategame heroes, even if it is bought from the early or mid game.

- As long as for gold, this item should increase the leveling up capability: lvl 6 neutral dark troll warlord would provide 310 experience, equivalent to 5 ghouls or treants experience gained.

It helps to pass faster the period which most farmers have the worst difficulty: the early levels. Although, due to its 100 seconds cooldown, it should be balanced.

- Cooldown of 100 seconds.
If game last 40 min, and you have HoM from 10 minutes= 30 min = 18 times HoM activated.
Then, bonus 155 experience per activation, and 2790 more total experience around the game.
*based on troll warlord example

19/09/2010: lowered exp gain (3x -> 2x), kept current price (1900).

This would help carrys to farm much better when combined with quelling and to gain more overall xp. And of course would make the item worth the gold.

The build path of Hand of Midas isn't easy, once it's effective if bought from early game and should be rushed (waiting for 1200 gold early), and that's not the case of Hyperstone.

-10 ias with -400 gold. If you think it's not compatible... plz indicate what is price would be better in your oppinion.

You just forgot the Hyperstone is used in two items (just an requirement item), what means it would be clearly better than an Item that ocupies one slot and it's not upgradable.

I don't know why exactly you think HoM is a farming item. Do you build it when you need money in the game?

Again, when you buy raw damage items, it would improve pretty better your farming capability. Anything which improves your DPS are much better to earn money than an item that pays itself only after around 10 minutes and doesn't help significantly (for its price) your final DPS.

My propose it to give an different aspect of "farming" ability to HoM, while being still useful at lategame .

Keep HoM as it is and add the bnous experience.It will make the item much more popular.

You have lessened the recipe cost, but you shouldn't buff IAS. 45 IAS and transmute for 1700 gold? Hyperstone gives 55 IAS for 2100.

Anyway, the exp thing is a good idea for me.

Ok. I agree with 30 ias for 1700. It should not be that good for ias boost, so the ratio money/ias should be lower than hyperstone.

With lower total price, it's already a good buff, and the main idea is the experience thingy.

Hmm..

Seeing what have you done to the transmute ability I can say that this item would better fit those who highly depends on ganks and cannot farm for themselves (Atrop/Dazzle etc). But they don't acually need IAS so imo it's better to remove the IAS bonus so it would be useless for carries...

And allow Ezalor to give his fast earned HoM to his teams carry? It would be overkill.

@Suggestion
I like the idea of getting bonus exp. I played few games with Roof (solo mid, rush HoM) which allowed me to get Radiance at ~16th minute. The extra exp would make the farming faster and would allow the hero to make the level gap even greater if done right.

Good idea. But i think not 3x times exp. 1.5x would be quiet enough. & not the buff. Just 1.5x exp increase per creep along with 2x gold bonus from transmute kill.
Cos with 3x you will screw lvling on random map's creeps & will go only for side.
Also while you having 30% AS bonus its grant you to have more chance to make last hit on mobs its already good bonus. & having this boost will you go for random creeps while your enemy force your side's mobs back? I think not.
Yeah its not a 100% having a place like every time, its depends on situation. But in theory mostly...
In that case i will use that item mostly instead of using Dominator(its pretty good for farm & heal as you know also if you will catch 1-2 lvl 5-6 mobs with disables it gives you bonus which you can use to disable/immobilize enemy heroes)

Well, you might be right. Maybe 2x exp.
There's still a 100 seconds coodown, so you would not level up only at jungle.

I did that calculation based at lvl 6 neutral creep, but real effect can only be felt at practice. But I'm glad you liked concept!

I'm going update with 2x exp and keep current 1900 gold price.
