Default [Remake] Phantasm, Chaos Knight Ulti.


First of all let's analyze Chaos Knight, Nessaj's abilities.


1. Base Damage.
Deals 46 - 76 damage. There are very huge difference between min and max value. Maybe you deal only 46 damage, or deal 76 damage, who knows.

2. Chaos Bolt.
Deals 1-200 damage and 2-4 sec stun. Another huge difference between min and max value in both damage and stun. You may deal only 1 damage or huge 200 damage, who knows.

3. Reality Rift.
Teleports Chaos Knight to a random point on the line between the units (between 30% and 80% of the distance). Another random effect.

4. Critical Strike.
11% chance 3.0x damage. Another lucky based ability. You may deal just normal 1x damage or deal 3.0x damage, who knows.

You can see that Nessaj's all abilities (even base damage too) are lucky based abilities. So I'am suggesting remake on Phantasm (Ulti).


Current:
Summons 1/2/3 images, takes 200% normal damage.

Suggestion:
Summons 1/1-3/1-5 images,
they takes 100% + ([number of illusions] - 1) * 50% normal damage.

1 image = takes 100% damage.
2 images = takes 150% damage.
3 images = takes 200% damage (same as current Phantasm).
4 images = takes 250% damage.
5 images = takes 300% damage.

Pros:
  • You may summon only 1 image, or summon 5 images, who knows. Like other abilities.
  • 1 means = 1, 1-3 average = 2, 1-5 average = 3. Means averages are same as current one. So no balance issue.
  • There are already Naga's illusion ability that has makes 3 illusion. Suggested Phantasm is different, unique from other illusion abilities.
Cons:
  • I understand whole luck is no comfortable with competitive play.
Aghanim Scepter idea: Phantasm will summon 2/2-4/2-6 illusions

  • 1. Now images don't take constant 200% normal damage. 100% + [number of illusions - 1] * 50% normal damage. Thanks to The Lord God for great idea.
  • 2. Changed illusion number range. Before 0-2/0-4/0-6, Now 1/1-3/1-5. Thanks for JJE92 and gnaLor for idea.

First I thougt 1-3/1-5/1-7 images. But averages are 2/3/4. So I thougt it may become Buff and do same balance issue. If others say it again, I'll implement.

[no of illusions generated]*100% damage. It's great idea. If you do few summon, illusions take less damage. If you do many illusions, they take huge damage. Great!, I will use it with some formula change. Because with this formula 3 images take 300% damage, but current Phantasm 3 illusions takes 200% damage. Thanks.

so theres like 15% chance to compleatly waste your ulti and 15% to get a imba number of images, but they still deal 100 dmg, right?
t-up on concept, im havent learned much about balancing so i dunno about the numbers, but i seems fair

Yep, I did change only illusion numbers. They still deal 100% damage. Thanks for idea.

The thing about his other skills are he will cast them maybe 50 times in a game. but he will ulti only 3-4 times in normal game. Now if 3 out of those 3 or 4 give him either the min or max illus, he is fked or deadly.
The thing about randomness is that if you do it enough, you will eventually go to the average. But ck will ulti less than 4 times in the match and the difference between min and max is way too much.. TD man sorry.

How about this additional effect?

Nessaj will gain double HP if there are no illusion summoned. Buff duration is same as illusion duration. After duration end he lost all gained HP. If he has 2100 HP, after unlucky action his HP will became 4200.

The only problem I see with current ulti is its not that gank oriented or spammable. It takes too long to cast and it has a very long cooldown. It needs a buff to the mana and cooldown section IMO.

T-wayy down. his ult is fine. it's borderline useless early game and is a top 5 ult late game (arguably the best actually)

Thanks for idea. But I don't agree that "only 3-4 time". Let's say Nessaj level up 6 at 5 minute and game continued 40 min. 40-5 = 35min = 2100 sec. 2100 / 140 ~ 15 times right ?

T Null for idea, but getting 0 illusions resulting in an effectless skill is awful. Make it 1/1-3/2-4 better Imo.

But well, you could as well say that he doesnt need more randomness. Illusions already present chaos theme pretty well Imo, so that this isnt really needed.
