Rename Shadow Demon

as the title suggests, i ask that we rename shadow demon.

as it is, the name eredar is a race in the warcraft universe where DotA is situated.

and it just feels... awkward. not just for some dota players, but also to DotA playing WoW players who have draenei characters. and if we just leave it be, there might just be misunderstanding between the two.

i suggest we rename him as Ak' Edun or anything we can come to term with.

any name suggestion is welcome.

No champion of Light could match him, but he was betrayed and killed by his own underlings. However, the faintest sliver of his shadow survived; over the millenia Eredar regained a portion of his former being and grows stronger each day, but in a twist of fate his new form was that of a gnoll. Eredar's new form is not well suited to direct confrontation, but he knows a number of objurations and tricks to deal with his foes; his skills include banishment, poison, curses, and darker demonic arts.

Well I don't really know but Eredar is a demon name or? Mb Draenei is kinda demonic but I think it the story that needed to get edited. Mb something like this

As you can see they kinda fit together as others normaly don't do so, I think its kinda nice imo.

A renegade wizard who delved deeper in studying demonic arts, this old aged archmagus was sentenced to damnation by the Dalaran council. As a last resort of escaping death, he performed a forbidden ritual and sold his soul to Archimonde's bidding. Without trace of compassion and with a twisted mind, he seeks retribution to his comrades. He commands earth to stagger those who hinders his path with sharp spikes or siphons their will out. Never hesitating to transmogrify others to impunity nor doubtful of ripping his enemy inward out with his fatal touch, Lion like a predator loves doing it all over again.

I did some research on demon names (Eredar, Nathrezim, Pitlords)
i tried to understand their name patterns and thats what i ended up with.

also note that I'm 'not' limiting what we should name him. anyone can rename him.

it bugs me because i'm a fan fiction writer who follows both DotA and Warcraft lore. and something like this will just get us ridiculed by draenei players from wow.

also, real life doesn't count. if you want, lets just rename him 'joe' or 'bob'.

I have something in mind... Anuberus from both Anubis and Cerberus... they're both hounds (well, Anubis is a jackal but afaik they're still part of the dog family) and was also inspired by the ladder Crypt Lord's random name...

"Eredar" should really be replaced...
