Newly filed application, not yet assigned to an examining attorney.

IE Valve is picking up existing public domain material and trademarking it.
DotA is the product of an entire community, not just Icefrog.
And its not Icefrog's prerogative, nor valves, to take ownership of it.

Legally, of course, they are free to

1) I wish releasedate was earlier.
2) Q2 2011 the date sounds reasonable.
3) in pure reality it will probably be later ;_;

They are deffinetly trying to move DotA to new platform, and not just make some another version of it.

I wonder if wc3 DotA is going to be continued after the realease of this new thing.

Which one is bigger, IceFrog or DotA? What you think?

DoA. As long someone competent takes over, then DotA will have its followers. But I think once the Valve version is released, IF would be doing any/all updates on the Valve version first. Which means the WC3 version would eventually fall out of favor despite being free as updates would come later and later. Although did he say he would never stop working on DotA or did he say he would never stop making it for WC3?
