Lightbulb [Hex Visual Effects] ToonBoom


The current visual effects of all hex-based skills (Voodoo and Guinsoo's active skill) in-game are like this...


My suggestion is to replace it with the ToonBoom graphics (may either be all Hex-related skills or only some of them)...


Path: Objects\Spawnmodels\Other\ToonBoom\ToonBoom.mdl

It first hides the unit to be hexed in smoke and when it's gone, you will see the critter in place of the hero but in the current effect, you will only see some sparkling dust and the change of form is not very much detailed.

For those who are in doubt, test map is available here: HexToonBoom.w3x

CyberTech's test map: [Visual] Voodoo.w3x.
  • With added Polymorph variety (also an option).
  • Has different units with different sizes for testing the effects.


Pros of this suggestion:
  • Gives a better detail (in my opinion, at least)
  • It shows a better way of transformation.
  • Current one is overused by Mangix's Primal Split (when splitting, it also shows up together with the rolling pandas).
  • No MSI.

Cons of this suggestion:
  • People's rejection of change.
  • It has no significant difference.
  • Overused by Meepo's Poof.

Overused (Meepo), additionaly no MSI isn't a pro, it is a Neutral point. Still, I like it, so T-up.

It's the same one used for Primal Split (when Storm, Earth, and Fire roll out) and DotA Hex.
