Default [REMAKE] Bloodstone


Frankly speaking, it's really useless in nowadays with other better items (especially linken)

This remake will make Bloodstone more useful especially for Support / Caster

Whenever an enemy hero dies within 1425 AoE, gains 2 charges if it has 0 charges, else gains 1 charge (each death can only charge one of these items, if two or more heroes in the AoE have this item, only one will be charged)

Greater Soul Release
  • Can expend one charge to target an allied or enemy hero
  • If an ally is targeted, it is healed for 450 HP over 9 seconds
  • If an enemy is targeted, it takes 450 magic damage over 9 seconds
  • Has a 10 second cooldown, and 950 cast range

Blood Pact
  • Each charge gives 1 Mana regeneration per second
  • When the bearer dies, the bearer forced to casts Greater Soul Release to upto 2 random allied heroes in 1700 range, losing upto 2 charges. Prioritize heroes with lesser hp percentage
  • While dead, the bearer gains 1800/1800 AoE vision at the location of death, and gains experience in 1000 AoE at that location
  • Gold lost on death is reduced by 25 per charge
  • Respawn time is reduced by 3 seconds per charge
  • Bloodpact only functions for the highest priority Bloodstone in the inventory

Just for information, I removed the mana regen gained when you kills an enemy but increased initial mana regen to 200% (due to Void Stone).

Heroes who tend to buy Urn and support don't really end up buying 5050 gold items. Still doesn't fix the issue that Linken's and Bloodstone occupy similar niches (Int-carries for raw survivability, mana and regen), and Linken's is simply better in most situations. Need to either buff Bloodstone to be equally viable, or change Bloodstone's niche. You've attempted to do the second but it doesn't actually fit any niche at all; int carries would still go Linken's and supports wouldn't be able to afford it - nobody would really buy it except for really really rich supports. Well, the original idea was come when I see that Bloodstone and Urn has same way in gaining charges.

I agree with your opinion that most support wouldn't be able to afford it but some support and int caster could buy it IMO... Especially since it damages as well...

BTW, increased the damage

What usually attracts me to buy BS instead of Linken's is the +raw mana regen. Maybe add a +xx mana regen (which doesn't increase with charges), and nerf the % regen a bit?

Like maybe 120% mana regen + 5 mana per second. (maybe too low?)

Of course, I'll still T-Up this; just don't want to see one of the only few +raw mana regen items disappear (RoB and Vlad being the other 2).

While I like the idea of both collecting charges from the dead, I'm against this remake. I personally think Bloodstone is very well suited to the heroes that use it, as most of them need heavy mana regen but shouldn't be stealing kills. The changes to the "supportive" charging method and the +mana only from each charge is exactly what it needed to fill it's role perfectly. It just so happens that it's slightly underpowered.

Aside from t-d to this part, I prefer the RoH version, these two items just don't mix. And its forcing the Soul Release part on an item such as BS, uh...

It seems a bit too drastic, might as well make it a new item.
I agree on bloodstone needing some buff/remake but it should preserve the "mobile fountain" there.

Anyway, changed

Also, recipe changed from Void => RoH and now it gives constant mana regen as b4

Old Bonus => Bonus from each recipes.... Since +6 from Urn is removed when upgraded, I exclude it
