They accept it as my hobby and a way that I hang out with friends. Since my freshman year at college though I have managed to balance dota with the rest of my life far better.

I always have decent marks (I say decent not magnificent).
They allow me to play DotA and go to partys... always I do not get drunk.

They are all the brainwashed sort that think Call of Duty is a good video game.
None of my close friends play DotA. Let alone computer games. Just Consoles.
The friend that introduced me to DotA long ago now plays HoN.

My family doesn't know any better.
Refer to everything as "game."

I thaught my sister (she's 6 years old atm) to play DotA against creeps. She love to use Tidehunter, Rylai, and Enigma. Her favorite item are Mjolnir because it sprites lightnings and Vladmir's Offering because it gives her ally wtfpwn blue-ish aura. Whenever I play DotA she just keep QQ and I said that after this game she will play... My parents accept DotA as one of the way to stfu my sister, lol.

However, my teacher think that it is a good way to improve my reflexes and thinking ability.

They say it's not productive, not helping out in my real life situation (academically and socially) and is shown to be really bad for my health from sleep deprivation, eating alot less and lack of interest in sports etc.

But nevertheless, I'll always love DotA <3
