Default [Buff/Tweak]Sange and Yasha


My suggestion is to add an active ability on S&Y that would slightly adjust the bonuses. Sometimes you don't need the slow at all, sometimes a Maim proc can mean the difference between 0 and 200+ gold. If I remember correctly, you can't have more than 6 effects on an item, so I've removed the 12 damage and buffed up the other bonuses slightly to compensate.

My suggested version:

Sange and Yasha (Maim)

+18 Agility
+18 Strength
+25 attack speed
Greater Maim (passive)
+15% movement speed
Style switch (active) - 1 second cooldown

Sange and Yasha (Slash)

+18 Agility
+18 Strength
+15 attack speed
Slashing Frenzy (passive)
+15% movement speed
Style switch (active) - 1 second cooldown

Slashing Frenzy (passive)
Adds +7 damage for every consecutive attack on a target
Caps at +60
Damage bonus gets removed if you change target or switch styles
I took the numbers out of my ass, so don't judge based on that. Now Sange and Yasha is not necessarily an orb effect anymore and since the item's main advantage (and drawback) is it's general versatility instead of a more specific focus, I've decided to work on that concept.

T-Up Concept. Numbers can always be tweaked. Gives us an option to want S&Y crap or not.

Very nice idea!

You hit two targets with only 1 bullet!

Swaping between Maim and More dmg is a good idea, since it offers a way without orb-effect while not destroying the Maim concept.

However, I'd like to see +30 AS to Maim state (better synergy) and less AS for Slash state.

Huge t-up! I also have S&Y suggestion, but, ofc, this does not impeach me to like other ideas about them.

Well, AS already got buffed by +7 from it's current version. The point of increased AS in Slash version is that you want to increase your damage once you've slowed him down. Basically, after a Maim proc, you have 4 seconds of autoattack when the enemy can't run away without a blink skill or very, very high MS. I'd rather have Slash with higher AS because it's designed for head-on instead of chasing and you want to maximize your killing power then.

Makes sense with this strategy.

But it keeps the current problem of low reliability fo maim proc chance, whereas it would be a bit OP at lategame (when probably you'd rather the Slash state and another orb-effect item), with +48 ias and +30 dmg for 4300 gold.

That's why I think +30 AS for maim state would be more balanced/better to maim proc'ing.

You do have a point there. +48ias +48dmg on an agi hero is quite a lot for 4300. I'll shift the numbers a bit, then.

edit: nerfed Slash by -15 as and upped Maim to 25.

Even if you remake it like this, I still prefer +10AS and Maim over 30 damage. Unless switching to Slash gives more benefits like 12%MS in Maim form and 15% MS in Slash form, I don't think that it is necessary. T-null.

doubtful stats of Slash version. +30 dmg instead 15 AS and Maim - not really good exchange.
Try to think about some passive for slash too

I think that having all those bonuses and NO ORB EFFECT, even with the exchange of +30 dmg by -15 ias, is quite enough.

At late game, this S&Y, coupled with Desolator/Mjollnir/Lifesteal would be a very good (and safe) build.

IMHO the IAS has no need to differ between Maim and Slash versions. They pretty much equally need the IAS bonus.

Also the two versions' icons' coloring could show more contrast. Current is a bit difficult to see.

Mega T-up is obvious.

T-up. How about a few seconds of cooldown? Like the cooldown system thing used by Mana Shield and Armlet (can deactivate after activating it but can't re-activate for a short time).
