My thoughts?

Bracers, Nulls and Wraiths haven't changed a lot in numbers but they are certainly seeing some more play, especially bracers, due to the buff+nerf of wand. Wand have decreased slightly, from 6.25 apg to 5.75, and i think the negative trend isn't over and it will go down a bit more. Nerf on treads was barely felt (in fact, number increased), mostly because the alternative are just too narrow (AB), bad (PB) or expensive and not-alternative (BoT). PB went from 0.8 to 1 apg. Manta numbers also decreased slightly, from 1 to 0.8 apg.

The most interesting changes, however, are the incredible increases on tanking items. See:

Vanguard: 1.350 apg -> 1.775 apg
Hood: 0.330 apg -> 0.750 apg
Pipe: 0.100 apg -> 0.450 apg

Vanguard, as i often voiced out, is a problematic item. All purely defensive items tend to be, with time. If you want to farm, few items are better than Vang, allowing you to jungle and creeps safely. Also, with Sniper, Alche, SF and Razor as the new carries of choice right now and Dusa/Drow/Morph disappearing, Hood and Vanguard have basically been buffed by 100%+. Imho, those kind of purely defensive items just need to go, especially when this cheap. In this case, Vang and Hood need to have some offensive bonuses and not be only purely defensive. Maybe make them give some stats?

Other items with insanely highs numbers and over 2k price tag are:

- Bkb: this item imho just suffer from a lack of alternatives. If you are a dpser that need to deal your damage, you need bkb. If you are a caster that need to cast his spells, you need bkb. If the opponent team is heavy on disable, you need bkb. I proposed some time ago an alternative to BkB into MoM, giving MoM the ability to reduce stun times, making it an alternative to BkB for non-orb dpsers while leaving BkB for casters/channelers. A nerf on the item to decrease its numbers would be disastrous as it would still remain widely used and it would only buff stunners.
- Guinsoo: the item has increased his numbers from 6.68 (0.8->1). This is due to the high number of games with the tri-core strat that involve three strong carry/semi-carry int heroes that farm Guinsoo rapidly and then proceed to rape. Frankly, Guinsoo needs a slight nerf. It has been on the top of int-based items and disable-items for a long, long time and his numbers have never been comparable to any other item in his category. Remove the bonus regen you get from assembling it and we will be able to see more Bloodstones and Orchids and maybe even less int heroes. In this case, a slight nerf wouldn't be negative since there are a lot of alternative in the bonus stats/regen/disable category.

EDIT: added 20 games, from 40 to 60.

• Organized shop layout (ala Sena the Accesorizer)
• More unique +dmg items (BoA ,Broadswoard & Claymore)
• Items and recipes are more logical and intuitive
• Hammer is the old Javelin (the %chance fits naturaly in Basher + Mael)
• Desolator is now made from swords
and more!

But sniper/alch used more as carry moreso than medusa and morph? Not really. Though the former are used alot more now. Rather id say the trend is more to int carry, with Necro especially as a dominant carry.

yes sniper and alch are used more than dusa morph from the 6.69 replays ive seen.

Bloodstone still sucks $h1t. Hahahaha! 1 purchase?

On a side note, there is a flaw in your data. You recorded that Mjollnir was purchased twice, but Maelstrom was only purchased once. Flaw right there.

Interesting to see that Phase is STILL bought after several nerfs...

these are the "at end of the game" items. its possible that there were sixteen times more bracers in the actual games, but they got sold, who knows? but the person who even considers tracking that is either really sick or disturbingly nerd.

Your numbers are based on end game stats, not total acquired items. Can you do one with the actual items bought (and sold) as well? The stats should be available from the replay parser, right?

PT should give the same +ms as regular boots, imo - and possibly lose the +AS. They're just so good compared to everything else, but the stats & the switching is the cool thing about them.

thanks to noobs not playing dota giving their opinions on those forums we're having treads and wand nerfed (and they did not need nerf)

i wouldn't be surprised if vanguard and hood get nerfed again

I see that Soul Ring is still an uncommon sight in organized games. I've said all along that this item was overrated on the forums and not to be bought on every hero out there. Most overhyped item of 2010.

It's a fucking great regen item on almost any hero, but its sold before late game, that's why you dont see it.

Soul Ring is used. Not a lot but it's used, you can see it much more often now on heroes like ES and DS. It's also one of the first item you sell considering the raw bonuses it give are really bad so the number will always be pretty low. It was overhyped when it came out and then underrated, but it's a quite fine item that has its place in the game.
