He's not a bad host, it's just that... those 2 of of that 9 contestants didn't properly comply to the challenge and the rest haven't finished their heroes so they were DQ. *sigh*

And I totally disagree with Murdoc, its Xmas and a new year starting and I think its because of the season people's brain froze and couldn't finish their heroes..

Sup Merdoc. To be very technical, ZM and my own hero [nazi this?] was disqualified even though it had less real grounds for disqualification. But I'm not complaining at all, even though we threw in much more work than you. Objectively speaking.

Let's see here. In the original post, there are two reasons for disqualification: Non-compliance with the main challenge and incompleteness of hero. Out of these, the former is obviously the more important of the two since the former requires atleast five complete active skills. Our hero already had... let's see... about 15... and the only thing missing was the combination hands. And yet I don't complain. Why?

From about 11 people I disqualify, 8 was because their hero wasn't finished until deadline. And is it my fault for them to not finish their hero? Orly? So what should I do? Finish the hero instead of them or what?

Yes, I could've checked every hero before and warned you but if you realized the fact that we had 58 pages and 26 hero contestants and the timing of the contest where it's on the end of the year, it's almost impossible for any host to check it all everytime.

Also, while it is true that NoThlnG could've checked every entry, it is also true that every contestant could have asked, not just NoThlnG but the judges as well as anyone else, if their entry was ok or not. Plus the fact that the penalty for not following the primary challenge was disqualification(written in striking red), contestants should have taken extra care to read and understand as well as ask for further clarification on the primary challenge.

And also, if NoThlnG made an exception now, it risks other contestants wanting to receive exceptions as well. It would also partly undermine the integrity of the rules, not only of this contest but possibly the next ones as well.

Here are my two cents about the recent string of arguments regarding the disqualification.

The rules are the rules, period. Once you enter the contest, you consent to following the rules to the letter. This implies that you must have read and understood them before joining. To broaden that context, its states that in order for one to be qualified to participate, among other requirements, is that for contestants to actually read and understand the rules, then comply to them. Non-compliance simply means you are "withdrawing" from the contest, no question.

To say that the rules were not clearly stated implies two things: 1. You did not understand the rules and 2. You did not read the rules. These two things mean that you did not consent to joining the contest after all, and that should be enough grounds for the disqualification.

As many say, "Don't sign on the dotted line if you haven't read the contract."

what's the matter with the DQ-ed people (not all, but obviously Murdoc). just accept the fact that your hero is DQ-ed and if you want to compete again next time, you better follow the rules or else will happen. if the rules is made for nothing, then, NoThlnG wouldn't have to wrote down all the rules. it is just waste of time.

Guys, if you don't even bother reading the main challenge, of which it was clear that if you disregard it you will be disqualified, then why do you even participate...
Read it at least twice and make sure you understand it completely BEFORE you participate :/

Rules are rules brother. Rules are what made this thread possible. If you don't like the host for THIS CTH, well, wait for the next one then. Or you can just participate on this CTH and FOLLOW THE RULES. It's your fault that you didn't read the rules, not NoThlnG's. Before you join ANY OTHER CONTEST, make sure to read all the rules so as to put them on your advantage. 1 tiny rule makes all the difference in the world. Hope to see you in the next CTH, Murdoc.

Well, like i said, it took forever to come up with decent skills for this, and i was really excited for this, because I thought I had a good chance. Anyways, I plan on participating in every CTH and CTA in the near future.
