Yes
There are many thing in Dota that are not needed but make the game better. This change, however, improves the game to some extent, so I don't see your point. If by they you mean enemies, read again carefully

T-Up
Please put the "This visual is allies-only." note some place where it can be seen more easily and make it big letters and maybe recolored (red is the best color). cause some idiots can't figure this out themselves. No no i have a better idea. This effect is visible to both allies AND the team that originally bought the item (i'm not really sure if it's codeable though)- this way when they kill you and take the gem in the fog of war, you will know who currently has your gem and focus on him to get it back. Or maybe it's too much?

@sana claws: no, please make it allies-only. There's no point if enemies can see it just because they're the ones that bought it. Their gem, their risk. They lose it, their loss.
And definitely t-up on allies only.

I say: T-up!
There is no disadvantage about the change, so therefore I believe this change will make a good addition to the clearness of the game, and so a good environment for newcomers. We could all agree, that it is sometimes hard for newbs to recognize the situation in the game fast enaugh. Very good idea IMO. |

Said this, I'd love your constructive critisism what is the DISADVANTAGE about the change? So far, I can only see that you dislike the graphics, which is kinda lame, should I say. For example even if hero is wielding Aghanim's, you might like it or not, but it has little to no effect except for the fact everyone knows you are wielding aghanim's.This however is a change only people who need to know DO know and you aren't having the big "HIT ME" sign above your head. PS: You should check the difference betwen a newb and a noob
