Because its better, gives sight, faster casting time on closer range(latch speed and distance is a factor), doesn't cost mana until fired = can be used for scouting(click on ground, which works like Static Link, will only latch on hero if target ground)

I'm not sure i understand you do you want to make Assasinate solely ground-targeted? Im not sure i like the idea of a visual representation of his aim either. Maybe make it work like illuminate increasing sight range in cast direction over the channeling duration and automatically shoot the first enemy hero you see? That way shooting would be instant for targets that are still in sight range and the maximum range of the spell would be determinde by the max. channeling range. You would have to think about the implications of not being able to freely pick out whatever target you like though. Your suggestion would make it more into a skill-based skill.

Both. It's the same as Static Link.
Target Unit: Enemy Units(which includes heroes) Target Ground: Will only latch on to Enemy Heroes(yes, you can blind assassinate and not rely on wards) Do keep in mind, even tho it will only cost mana once fired and not while latch is traveling. Cooldown will still be triggered, so you can't abuse the sight. @spiderpig Sigh, look at Simplified Explanation. You keep in mind the Static Link, and replace the steal/drain damage per second with deals 355/505/655 magical damage and ministuns

^ i mean the vision. If the target locked and tp-ed to his base, will the sniper get the vision until the target's base and also the sniper need to wait that link reach the target first?
