It's down for me too. I guess there is some sort of a problem or they are preparing the launch of something more significant.

They released a few SS of the new map editor, looks pretty sick. Can't wait for it. They also added trial accounts for every hon user. I have 2 free trial accounts which let you play ten No stat games. Let me know if one of you guys want one.
Honestly if you are good at Dota, you will rape face in LoL to teh point where you think it's just boring, the game is just easy... Every friend I had that was god awful at Dota went over to LoL because they could actuall compete in a game. None of them are good enough to play HoN. Basically HoN is the next level up from Dota and since HoN is basically identical to Dota, you will pick it up really quick. There are quite a few tournaments going on for HoN, and a very strong competitive scene. |

Bunch of people finally finished our HoN vs DotA guide for any of you who were interested in making the jump but wanted a little more info on how HoN compares to DotA.
Personally I came into HoN with out knowing any thing about DotA and had to learn this stuff from scratch before there were many guides or out side sites to help new players. Definitely an enjoyable game once you get the hang of it. If any of you guys do decided to give HoN a try feel free to hit me up on the forums or in game if you have any questions about any thing. |

S2 teamed up with an ISP in aus (iPrimus) to give us Aus servers! This was something the aussie players have been asking S2 to do and they have finally listened. There are only a few aus servers up for testing purposes at the moment but hopefully everything goes well and they open up more.

If you want test HoN go to ''http://www.heroesofnewerth.com/fbtrial.php'' and take your Trial key( 10 games NO-STATS for HoN internacional). This trial keys don't work for SEA people(Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines).
You can create as many trial accounts you want on that site, and for the e-mail you can put any bullshit as bullshit@hotmail.com or fake@email.com and the account is activated at the same time and you're ready to play. I myself have 10 trial accounts+my gold member paid account. |

Still 30k concurrent players at peak with 35K+ after a patch.
Virtually the same numbers as at release and that was like 6 months ago. This is kinda rare for multi-player games in general especially if you consider how unfriendly the game is to new players. This would mean old players leaving the game is at a 1:1 ratio with new players that survive the newb phase. |

Patch 1.0.14 just came out recently - interesting Kraken rework.
Looks like the NA dota scene is dead and the players have moved to HoN - I haven't seen any competitve NA dota teams for quite a while now right now whereas the top HoN team right now is the american EG (Evil Geniuses) team. And it looks like the EU scene is going the same way with the disbanding of dota teams and the emergence of many new top teams onto the EU competitive HoN scene. |

New hero from S2 called Moraxus coming soon. Thankfully it's not another "cartoony" looking hero. He actually looks badass.

Eh, the first skill seems to be keen to that of centaur, with a tank skill that needs "skill" (seems like it), a stackable slow, and an ult that takes damage and explodeable
Seems like a tank-ganker to me -Ghost Marchers -Blood Chalice -Helm of Black Legion -Frostburn ^Seems to be the base item for him

![]() Dota model + that unused S2 shader doesn't look too bad at all. edit: The guy doing the ports is on a role: ![]() Not only does he port them, he also makes effects for them, and he's good at it. Especially with the scorpion. |

My friend told me to play hon with him, obviously i don't play the game and i thought i would give it a try.
I found out their steamboots (power treds) stack. I get night hound (rikimaru) and get 6 steamboots (agility) and go 54-2 simply cause my friend was on the other team and negated the concede options. It just makes me smile knowing that dota for wc3 is still a better game
