Default Soul Fort

Inspired by this guy
Spider-man's hero costume =P, but inspired not by any of the suggestion's effects, just the idea to use Blademail as a component. =D
Here it goes.

The Fort
4900

Blademail 2200
Platemail 1400
Energy Booster 1000
Recipe 300

  • +22 Damage
  • +15 Armor
  • +10 Intelligence
  • +300 Mana
  • Fortitude (Active)
Fortitude (Active)
  • Returns any damage you take to the unit that dealt it.
  • Half of the returned damage burns the mana of the one that dealt it. The amount burnt restores the mana of the wielder.
  • Damage is returned as pure damage
  • Lasts 5 seconds, costs 25 mana, and has a 22 second cooldown
An example of how it works (or how I perceived it )
Hero A wields Soul-Fort and gets into a team fight and so activates Fortitude.
Hero X and Y attack Hero A.
Any damage that X and Y deal to A will be returned to them.
Lets say X,Y always deal 50 Damage per attack.
They attack 4 times in 5 seconds = 200 damage dealt to A
Half of 200 = 100 and X and Y lose that much Mana.
Hero A gains 100 Mana.
End.

8th Feb
  • Item Created/Suggested
10th Feb
  • Removed Planeswalker's Cloak
  • Added Energy Booster to Recipe
  • Reduced Recipe Price
  • Overall Price remains the Same

Anti-synergy - more armor and magic resistance = less damage dealt = less damage returned = less mana stolen.

I advice you to change the components with something like Robe of the Magi, Sobi Mask, Void Stone etc. Currently it doesn't make sense why does it steal mana...

@Only
The amount that is burnt is gained by only the wielder.
Damage type is pure.

@Jesusatan
Very good point...but I guess 'SystemofaDown' answered that for me. Thanks for the feedback.

I also think that Spell Dmg reduction and armor shouldn't combined.

But Anti-Mage would love it

Uh. It won't really be popular on carries because they would rather farm dps items over defensive items if they already have an escape/defense mechanism (Blink/Manashield), only heroes I can see who could use this is Alchemist, a tank carry -- and maybe centaur if they give him farm.

If I were to use blademail in a recipe, it would probably give a return aura to the hero and allied units, like Furion's from the ladder.

Null - Concept is good, but is somewhat situational.

^Thanks for the feedback.
I was aiming this towards tanks so that they can do more damage when the initiate.
