Default Krobelus, the Death Prophet

Fan-Fiction on Krobelus, the Death Prophet

It's nothing much, really! But this is all I can do for one of my favorite heroes! ;D

Chapter I -Krobelus, the Death Prophet-
Quote:
Krobelus’ alignment with the Scourge was of mystery and abrupt, no one knew why.

He was the eye candy in the eyes of many. He had well-formed abs and biceps and to top it off, he fought blindfolded – one of his most charismatic points, and also one of the most sought-after mysteries the Sentinel’s gossip queens were dying to unravel. He was one of the twin sons to Furion, making him the twin brother of Terror Blade. By Fate's manifestation of cruelty, the latter fell to the dark side during the Ancient’s War.

The aforementioned is Magina, the Anti-Mage.

One of Magina's particular admirers used to be Krobelus, who was with the Sentinel when she was much younger, but whose past was unknown to many, nobody knew much about her. But one thing was of definite clarity, she was a virgin priestess who has had a thousands' year of training. She upheld her holy code with much integrity, for she was one of the great Prophets. Also not to forget she was one of the few who have accompanied Furion on his Last Pilgrimage, which was the graduating assessment for every prophets.

But she was no hag, she looked inexplicably young, albeit living for a thousand years now. She was very eligible, she fought, she cooked and she sewed. The perfect type of women gauged by parents of past.

Nothing escapes Furion. Not even Krobelus' love for his son. However, he felt indifferent about it, although he knew she wasn't to behave that way, but as long as it remained unknown, Furion could kosher with it.

A stern, distant voice called out to Magina. That was his signal - for his daily impromptu training. Naturally, Krobelus would follow, or rather, stalk.

No one, usually, had the luxury of escaping Magina’s keenness and acuity. But Krobelus had erased all traces of her bodily scent. She watched silently in girlish glee as Magina strut his stuff. She unknowingly chuckled, only to gasp when Magina detected her laughter.

"Oh my, this is bad!" In ladylike fashion and the quietest of whispers, Krobelus exclaimed to herself. "I mustn't.. oh, this is really bad, I must go at once!"

It was inexplicably ridiculous - an entity of untold power and aptitude, to be giggling away at her girlish desires. But for Krobelus' case, her mind was obviously overridden by infatuation. So much so she forgot her stand and authority.

Magina abruptly disappeared and re-appeared right at the spot where Krobelus used to rest herself on a moment ago.

"It's her." Magina thought to himself, as he came under full realization of the familiarity. "Heh.

Magina was to report back an hour later, and that hour wouldn't be an easy one. It's going to be a trying grinding one.

Two hours had since passed, Krobelus was worried about Magina's absence. She wasn't the only one, so was Aiushtha, Magina's wife to-be. Just as their anxiety were about to send them looking for their love, he made his entrance.

"Oh dear, you're perspiring everywhere!" Aiushtha said, attuned with motherly care. "This won't do, go get a shower."

Magina smiled as he nodded, in a boyish kind of a way. Oh, how Krobelus was smitten! She was full of envy, and yet she remains apathetic. For she knew that her interference in their love would bring only hindrances. Just like any other day, Krobelus quietly retreated back into the sanctity of her cavern.

Back into her home, she was greeted by all of her spirits. The latter were wandering spirits, who served as loyal henchmen to Krobelus, for she promised their safety, food and shelter in exchange for their eradication of any notions of revenge. A wandering spirit could only be derived from a wrongful death. Naturally, they would want to exact their due revenge on their killers. Krobelus was trying to reduce the population bit by bit. She was sure she could tame every single one of them. Boy, was she right.

“What is wrong, my lady?” A spirit came up to her asking, which quickly formed the crowd. “This is a cause for worry, indeed."

"Mistress Krobelus?"

"Do not feel sad for worldly desires, they are not worth it."

"Grief only ages you faster, so why even...?"

“It is nothing important, really.” Krobelus reassured all of them, also attempting feebly to smile, she would have succeeded if her face didn't wore that much gloom. “You all should catch some sleep, it’s getting late already.”

"All right. Good night." Everyone in unison.

She tucked them all into bed. Only did everyone were soundly asleep was she able to catch some herself. But she wasn't able to, with him on her mind, this called for an evening stroll. Just as she opened the door, she couldn't help but to blush as Magina stood on the other side.

"Hey, sorry to bother ya." Magina apologized, but he looked like he had something to say. "If it's not a hassle, could we talk?"

"A-alright." One glance and she knew what was wrong, she thought Magina got as far as identifying Krobelus as his stalker. "It won't take long, will it?"

Both of them strolled to the nearest woods, which was also conveniently known as the Lovers' Sanctum. Krobelus was going crazy over the thought of it, alone in the Lovers' Sanctum with her Magina. She couldn't help but to grin, which got Magina raise one brow in befuddlement. But she wasn't to blame, for her smitten mind was dominated by euphoric excitement.

A scream awoken Krobelus' spirits; it only did because it bore an uncanny resemblance to Krobelus'. Everyone was thrown into a frenzied panic, looking at one another like they've seen them in their lives. "Mistress Krobelus!" Most of them exclaimed with downright anxiety. They were about to set off looking for Krobelus, when the latter came running into the room, sobbing away buckets of tears. This made all of her ghosts go "Huh?". Only minutes after, the 23rd spirit entered the room, looking displeased and lifeless. They only realized her absence when they did a quick head-count. Judging by her facial expression, they had to ask what got her to look that way. She told them everything. From how she followed Krobelus to the Lovers' Sanctum; and the way back, even the presence of the Lich King.

She couldn't help it. It was registered with out-and-out clarity in her mind. The moment of her life that would remain unforgettable.

“So... I know you like me, I’ve always liked you too.”

“I… but… what about Aiushtha?”

“What? No, never mind her.”

Magina reached out his hand and started positioning his hands on Krobelus on where he shouldn’t be touching.

“Magina… stop!”

“Why? Don’t you like it?”

“I said STOP! PLEASE!”

Magina had muffle Krobelus with one of his hands over her mouth. Her pleas were inaudible. One thing remained unfazed was her sorrow - materialized as tears.

Krobelus put up more than a struggle, but less than a fight. A night of hot, one-sided passion ensued. This marked Krobelus' becoming of a real woman.

Her confrontational underlings went looking for Magina and started ravaging him, clawing at his eyes. Their explicable violence was only to be accounted by the Lich King's presence the night before. Magina was obviously outnumbered and underpowered, although he wasn't fully uncertain why he was attacked, he knew he'd die if he had went head-on with them, he managed to flee however, but not without losing his sight. He ran amok, pleading for help, while his eyes bled and trailed a bloody mess everywhere, while yelling for help.

Krobelus’ spirits expected their ladyship's banishment from the Sentinel for duly addressing her grief. They saw fit to call for a meeting. They brought Krobelus into the woods, one that was far away from the Sentinel.

Eventually, her spirits adjured her into joining the Sentinel and talked her into exacting revenge on Magina.

It was a progressive effort, but Krobelus eventually summoned enough bravery. Just about enough to get herself enrolled in the rankings of the Scourge. Just past the skeletal gates, she was greeted by the Lich King.

She spoke of nothing, not even explaining her presence. But the Lich King wasn't conspicuously surprised, neither signs of befuddlement were obvious. What was rather creepy was that he welcomed Krobelus with open arms.

Chapter II -Krobelus Converted-
Quote:

The Lich King knew about Krobelus’ supremacy in combat and with the recent happenings, she would hit the Sentinel even harder.

“My lord, this is an emergency!” A flustered Necromancer acquainted the Lich King. “Our watchmen have sighted Gondar, the Bounty Hunter stealing in from the North, and Rooftrellen, the Treant Protector is leading an army from the South. Your orders, sir!"

“So it would seem,” The Lich King started articulating to himself. “Furion and that filthy Magina would be attacking from the West. We're surrounded. This is a cause of worry indeed. Come, summon our warriors and command them to the East, we shall hold our fort!”

"Yes at once, master!" The necromancer set off.

“MAGINA?!” Krobelus’ eyes glittered. "Please, let me prove my allegiance, I shall set off westwards at once!”

“No.” The Lich King had something else in mind, “Brashness gets you nowhere, haste do make waste."

“But!”

“Enough.”

The Lich King devised a strategy within seconds, which the Death Prophet had raised suspicions and distrust on. She had every right to. The King called upon the Night Stalker, and dispatched him to defend the Southern Fortress from Rooftrellen. That sparked a little bit of controversy between the Ungodly Duo.

“He’s putting his foot in his mouth, hmph.” Mortred snickered with a hint of sarcasm. “Balanar, oh my…”

“How right you can be, sister.” Mercurius couldn’t have agreed more. “Or is it that he's getting old."

"Or would you take Balanar's place?” The Lich King overheard their gritty conversation and presented them with a flashy, yet intimidating smile that left the Phantom Assassin and the Spectre bedazzled.

“You can’t go wrong with us!” Mortred and Mercurius nodded in agreement. "We shall not fail you."

One question was bugging Krobelus, though – Who was to defend the western region?

“But my lord, the western area is left unguar-“

“To your places, Balanar!" The Lich King rallied his troops. "We're left with the Northern region now, get ready Krobelus."

“At once!” She was gratified, as should be her tone. “I must obey!”

“Oh and before I forget… drink this up.” The Lich King instructed.

“What’s that?” Krobelus replied.

“Just drink it, it’ll prove useful in time to come.” The Lich King re-assured Krobelus as he passed her an urn.

Krobelus set off to hunt the hunter, but not without immense reluctance. She never wanted anything more than to exact her due revenge on Magina. Being a prophet of untold abilities, she knew exactly where the Bounty Hunter was. Calculating every fastidious details into account, Krobelus planned her route and devised her strategies - to a flawless extent.

As soon as she made her exit, the Lich King turned to face the opposite direction, with his hands folded. All of Krobelus’ `loyal' spirits gathered before the Lich King.

“Thank you, sire. We just can’t thank you enough. Thank you.” The spirits seem to be in eternal gratitude. “Thank you for granting Lady Krobelus immortality!"

“No, thank YOU.” The Lich King said. “And watch over her, that potion will tug at her sanity."

“Yes, my lord.” The spirits conformed. “We will.”

Gondar, the Bounty Hunter sneaked into the administrative center of the Scourge, his mission – To take wind of their battle plans. He was close to succeeding; he was less than a mile from the room, when several of Krobelus’ spirits accosted Gondar.

“What was that…” He rubbed his eyes as he picked up his scimitar. “What?! Isn’t that Krobelus’…”
“Ehehehehe!” An impish laughter burst out, “That’s right! And you’d better be afraid!”

The ghastly entities clustered, with their nails sharp and outstretched, charging at full speed towards Gondar.

“DIE!” All of them in unanimous unison.

All twenty three of them sank into confusion when the Bounty Hunter went invisible from sight.

The Bounty Hunter had faded into invisibility, ensuring his safety. But the aegis of invisibility quickly lost its potency. A familiar silhouette outlined itself from afar. It took a while for the silhouette to disillusion itself. But alas, Gondar was in for a shock!

"Whhhyyyyy have I been suffered?”

It was Krobelus. No matter how many times Gondar expressed his disbelief, stood defiantly right in front of him was Krobelus.

Death was kissing the Hunter furiously.

What obligation did it had, to claim the bounty on his head?

But of course, even death knew gratitude.

Gondar shielded his face with his hands, as his head veered away in fear. Just before Krobelus could land an attack, she passed out, together along with her spirits. Gondar fell onto the floor, landing on his back. Sweating profusely as he blanked out. He was as amazed as he was frightened. Obviously scared stiff at Krobelus' appearance. His fear owed to his knowing of Krobelus' infinite prowess; and how she was now a traitorous agent. Without delay, the Bounty Hunter shook his head, clearing his fogged mind. Just as he tried to pick himself up, a recognizable chakram was raised at his neck.

“You didn’t think you could walk in here and walk out alive, did you?”

“I came in peace!”

“…And you’re going back in pieces.”

Gondar was confident he could escape by pulling off another invisibility, but his confidence was short-lived. Stood right beside Mortred was Mercurius. Gondar gasped as Mercurius flashed the Gem of True Sight.

Mortred's mercilessness had made Gondar's decapitation possible. Not that she wasn't unwilling, though.

“That should be the end of him, humph.” Mortred spat. “But Krobelus did hold out long, I remembered that immortality something something lasting only a minute on me. Damn that.”

Mortred and Spectre reminisced as they carried the Death Prophet back home.

Chapter III -Defeated Duo-
Quote:

“Let’s get her back before he gets impatient.”
“Yes, let us hurry.”

Mortred and Mercurius with a report and Krobelus at hand were returning to the Lich King’s manor. They were engaging in an unhealthy dose of gossip when a pair of nemeses came in the form of Sentinel’s greatest heroes came along – Luna Moonfang and Lina Inverse.

“You! Release her at once!” Lina was obviously unhappy over what seemed like a kidnap.

“Oh yeah? Make me.” Spectre’s ghastly, spooky voice smeared.

“Fine, you leave me no choice!” Lina was ready for action, she was already chanting incantations. “Come forth seething fire, be as a beast to devour the wicked, LAAAAGUNA BLADE!”

“Fall before this holy light, ECLIPSE!” Luna was giving no quarter, “Rest in peace…”

“Hehehe… Fools.” Mercurius smirked, “Let’s go, sistah.”

In an instant, both Mortred and Mercurius were behind Lina and Luna. That, however was futile; Luna re-directed the brilliance of the moon and into the eyes of her assaulter. This was the cue to Lina – with a flick of her fingers, she raised an engulfing inferno. Seemingly inevitable however, both Mercurius and Mortred managed to evade their impending doom.

“This is pointless! You’d aaaaall end up dyyyying!” Taunted Mercurius. "It's NO UUUSE!"

Copies of Mercurius were everywhere. Lina looked flabbergasted as much as she was frightened. Just as she was about to throw in the towel, it dawned on her how determined Luna was. She just couldn't give up, she couldn't. She had always been bosom buddies with Luna, you could say they were the best of friends. Lina just had to remember those fond memories they shared, and everything of paramount difficulty seemed like a breeze.

Deep down under Mercurius she knew that her death was inevitable, the kind where one would stagger to her eventual final end. Knowing that her demise was of utter certainty, Mercurius stalled for her ally's escape. Unfruitful one that was, for Mortred could run no more than a mile.

Fleeing from the scene was Mortred, with Krobelus in her embrace. Mercurius knew they both were no match for their attackers, so she had planned the diversion all along.

It was when Mortred's escape looked like a successful one that timely aid arrived.

“By the great winds I come!”

A voice echoed in the woods. Mortred couldn't help but to survey her surroundings as breezes of chilling wind caressed her face.

She stopped in her tracks only when she noticed both Luna and Lina were not giving pursuit and that she was well aware of another presence.

“Show yourself.” She demanded.

Whilst she was striking a stance, a violent gust of wind struck her from the back, sending her into oblivion.

"Haven't you learn to not face your enemies with your back? Hahaha!"

Mortred was flung into mid-air. It was at this point that Magina appeared right out of nowhere and kicked Mortred in her face, propelling her backwards to her original direction. Krobelus, who was originally in the arms of Mortred, was thrown several feet away by her carrier's fall.

“That voice…” Krobelus’ subconscious rang. “…It can’t be. No, it has to be it!”

Although Krobelus was deep in unconsciousness, she very well knew that the voice belonged to Magina.

The thud should have awoken Krobelus if the impact of her disposition didn't.

Magina...
Magina...

She was summoned back to the realm of all things living by her will; her lust for revenge. Her strength was certainly recollected, albeit gradual.

Furion and Magina were prepared to knock her out once again. But before they even had the opportunity to cast any of their spells, Krobelus widened her gape, and started inhaling. This particular intricacy was known to steal the voices of her adversaries.

“MAAAAGINAAA!” Krobelus screamed. “YOU MUST PAY FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!"

Furion went as close as bestowing Magina a conspiratorial cue as soon as his sense of propriety allowed.

Their original plan backfired. It was Krobelus who brought about the ruination with swarms of putrefied bats.

Things were looking gloom. Real dark. But in an instant, Furion disappeared. But on his original spot, another player was introduced – Shendelzare Silkwood. Krobelus was quick to realize that she had cast Nether Swap on Furion. Magina saw fit and escaped. Now all that's left is Shendelzare. She took a step back, and before Krobelus could strike, the former darted a luminous projectile at the latter, inducing total paralysis. This gave Krobelus every reason to scream to high heavens.

As the trio escaped, Krobelus called out to her ghastly friends and gave chase.

lol, that's a smart one!
but no, she was adjured by her spirits.
definition of adjure;
To order or try to persuade someone to do something.

That's the reason! kinda anti-climactic, but i'll follow up a story on her spirits.

Magina, on the other hand, was still in the dark. Nobody who knew about it intended to tell him.

She knew Magina wasn’t ready and probably never will be, but she still hung on to that crush of hers.

Magina was out on a hunt, to train. To tone his already perfect body. Naturally, a smitten Krobelus followed him into the woods, or rather, stalk. No one, usually, escapes Magina’s acuity of smell and hearing. But Krobelus, however, had had skills akin to a goddess. She watches silently as Magina perfects his moondance, a special skill developed by Magina himself. But that was only an hour. To anyone else, it would have been a listless and tiring one. But to Krobelus, it was a short, yet satisfying time of her life. She watches as Magina walks back home with a hot, sweaty, muscular body. Krobelus was on the brink of screaming, she was far too excited.

They were back at base already. Aiushtha wiped off all the perspiration on Magina, this was one thing Krobelus was aware – They both were in love. She was of great benevolence and kindness, even though she mangles with death itself. Krobelus was a forgiving and simple person, who regarded this sight neutral and lived with this every day. She was gratified with the one hour of Magina’s training. She’d be over the moon if Magina went over and talked to her. She… was of utmost sorrow.

Months fly by and things continued the way it is. However, Krobelus could stand the lovers no more and was starting to reject love and life. One of her spirits could take it no longer and couldn’t help but to ask.

“What’s with you, sister?” She was a loyal sub-servant of Krobelus’, who regards the former as her sister. “You weren’t like this before? Please don’t be that way, it makes me sad too.”
“It’s nothing big, really.” Krobelus attempting feebly to smile. But her frown was way bigger than her smile. “You should catch some sleep, it’s late already.”

She dismissed her spirit and tucked her into bed with the other spirits; she didn’t want to talk about it.

Yet again, months pass by and Krobelus look significantly aged. This time, she couldn’t take it lying down.

Flashback;
“So, I know you like me, I’ve always liked you too.”
“I… but… what about Aiushtha?”
“What? No, never mind her.”
Magina reached out his hand and started positioning his hands on Krobelus, touching where he shouldn’t be touching.
“Magina… stop!”
“Why? Don’t you like it?”
“I said STOP! PLEASE.”

Krobelus was no match for Magina. He had his sight back then. And because of that, a night of hot passion ensued. One man’s lust is another woman’s mark of becoming a woman.

Krobelus cried the following night, tears streamed down her bruised cheeks as she tucked her dress between her legs, with the other hand covering her chest. Her spirits knew. They always did. They pretended not to.

Her trusty sidekicks confronted Magina and started attacking him, Magina was obviously outnumbered and underpowered. He managed to blink away, but not without losing both of his eyes. He ran for help, while his eyes bleed and dripped a trail from his tent to Furion’s.

Krobelus’ spirits knew this would happen, they seem to know everything. They brought Krobelus into the woods relatively far away from the Sentinel encampment. She was still sobbing away pails of tears and was admonished by those little spiritual entities she regard as sisters. They explained what had happened before and told her she probably couldn’t return to the Sentinel for that.

However, her spirits adjured her into joining the Sentinel, after a week or so. They alleviated her pain through words of comfort and little jokes they cracked. The final moment that aided her in her decision was the one thing her `sister’ had said to her.

“What’s the point of crying? Take action on him, they say revenge is endless. But do you think Magina is a match for you?”

She realized that the line was full of truth and the whole lot of them all marched solemnly into the eerie fields of the Scourge. Past the skeletal gates, she was greeted by the Lich King.

“I want… revenge…” Her eyes a crimson red, her heart was assimilated with anger and sorrow.
“Sounds fair to me,” The Lich King looked like he had struck gold, instead he had recruited one of his most dangerous enemy of the Sentinel. “Welcome aboard… Death Prophet.”

Guess why did she join the Scourge and get a free cookie!
Nice story man. Kinda interesting to read.

Great storytelling!
Only thing is, her reason for revenge is a bit shallow.

This led to another question.
Why didn't she just chop off Magina's manhood if she wanted to make him pay for raping her?
She didn't.
So in conclusion, this is not "revenge for rape"

When I say "chop off", it doesn't necessarily mean she has to use a knife. She can call her spirits and bite it off
