Default Khazal the Immortal

Changelog:

24/10/11 - Immortality has been buffed. AoE check decreased from 450/400/350/300 to 350/300/250/200.

25/10/11 - Wraith Cloak has been nerfed to only drain 4/6/8/10 + 1% of current HP from creeps.

4/12/11 - Immortality now has a small cooldown 6/4/2/0.

8/12/11 - Wraith Cloak has been tweaked to drain 5/10/15/20 HP from creeps. (No more 1%)

13/12/11 - The AoE check for level 4 immortality has been increased to 250. Cooldown has been increased for all levels. (6/4/2/0 to 8/6/4/2)

9/11/12
  • Devastate has been reworked.
    Devastate - Active, Hero Target
____________________Using dark magic, Khazal breaks his target's defences and deals damage proportionate to the target's strength. He then converts this to armour for a duration.

    ______.________._______.___._______.__________________________.
     ManaCooldownC. RangeAoEDurationEffects
    17015200-3Deals 50 damage + 1 physical damage for each strength, 3 armour gain/loss.
    27013200-4Deals 75 damage + 2 physical damage for each strength, 5 armour gain/loss.
    37011200-5Deals 100 damage + 3 physical damage for each strength, 7 armour gain/loss.
    4709200-6Deals 125 damage + 4 physical damage for each strength, 9 armour gain/loss.

    Notes:
    • Damage is dealt after armour reduction.
  • Wraith Cloak no longer slows movement, but reduces 40% attack speed from affected targets.
  • Wraith Cloak now fully affects magic immune targets.
  • Immortality now considers 'neutrals' as an 'enemy' when Khazal dies around them.
  • Dark Resurrection now allows the Immortal to phase through units.
  • Base armour increased to 5.

Immortal
Khazal

Khazal's whole concept revolves around his passive, Immortality, making him a difficult hero to slay. The ability automatically revives him at a small portion of his maximum health whenever he dies in the absence of enemies. This revival will give him the time and mana to either activate his Wraith Cloak, which would rapidly regenerate him to fighting fitness, or cast Devastation, which works both as a counterattack and a temporary buff that may help him resist additional attacks. His ultimate is undoubtedly the best spell in combination with his immortality. When used during a dire situation, he would be reborn temporarily with full hit points and mana, along with a massive boost to his primary stat and movement. This would give him the chance to escape, or even slay all enemies before the time runs out, allowing Immortality to bring him back to life when the duration ends. Fantastic hero for tanking and juking.

Khazal, prince of an ancient empire, was corrupted by the Lich King while on his quest for immortality. He now serves as a Wraith of The Scourge. His mere presence drains the lifeforce of enemies and his magic can destroy even the toughest of opponents, making him a feared adversary to content with. Whenever his enemies thought him slain, he just rose from the shadows, reborn, more powerful than before. Learns Devastate, Wraith Cloak, Immortality and Dark Resurrection.

Strength - 20 + 2.65
Agility - 20 + 2.0
Intelligence - 15 + 1.5

Affiliation:Scourge/Dire

Devastate - Active, Hero Target
____________________Khazal purges the area around him with his dark power, knocking all targets away from him. Affected targets are slowed greatly.

______.________._______.___._______.__________________________.

310022400-465% slow.
410018400-4.575% slow.

Notes:
  • This ability disrupts channeling abilities.
  • Magic immune targets are only unaffected by the slow, but will still suffer the knockback and ministun.

Wraith Cloak - Active, Toggle
____________________The presence of a wraith saps the lifeforce of all nearby enemies and transfers it to Khazal. Slows all affected enemies' attack speed by 40%. This act costs a large amount of mana to maintain.

______.________._______.___._______.__________________________.
 ManaCooldownC. RangeAoEDurationEffects
1102-450-Drains 1% max+10 HP (5 HP for creeps) from each enemy. Costs 10% max mana/s.
2102-500-Drains 1% max+20 HP (10 HP for creeps) from each enemy. Costs 10% max mana/s.

4102-600-Drains 1% max+40 HP (20 HP for creeps) from each enemy. Costs 10% max mana/s.

Notes:
  • The first second of percentage mana cost will be deducted upon activation of this spell.
  • Cloak is disabled when hero runs out of mana.
  • Activation/Deactivation of this skill does not charge magic stick nor trigger essence aura.
  • This ability fully affects magic immunity.

Immortality - Passive
____________________Every few seconds, if Khazal would be killed, his soul is able to restore his physical form partially, preventing death. This skill is inactive in the presence of enemies.

______.________._______.___._______.__________________________.
 ManaCooldownC. RangeAoEDurationEffects
1-8---350 AoE check, resurrects hero at 10% of max hp.
2-6---300 AoE check, resurrects hero at 12% of max hp.
3-4---250 AoE check, resurrects hero at 14% of max hp.
4-2---250 AoE check, resurrects hero at 16% of max hp.

Notes:
  • The Immortal is revived with all his mana.
  • Revival delay is 1 second.
  • Enemy creeps, neutrals and Roshan are also considered as 'enemies'.
  • AoE check is implemented right upon death.

Dark Resurrection - Active, Automatic
____________________Khazal casts a dark seal upon himself in anticipation of his death. Just as he is about to die, the underworld resurrects him, dispelling him completely and imbuing him with godlike powers. However, this empowerment is temporary and is reclaimed after the duration along with his life. Spell can also be activated manually.

______.________._______.___._______.__________________________.
 ManaCooldownC. RangeAoEDurationEffects
10120--10Upon revival, +30 agility and 100ms.
20100--11Upon revival, +45 agility and 150ms.
3080--12Upon revival, +60 agility and 200ms.

Notes:
  • Upon receiving a killing blow, this spell will autocast and apply effects immediately.
  • After the spell's duration, Khazal dies and is considered to have killed himself.
  • This skill will only activate automatically if the check for Immortality fails.
  • Upon use, all buffs, positive or negative, are removed.
  • Khazal can phase through units while this ability is in effect. (Not terrain)
  • Team-only indicator will denote time left before death.

Any constructive comments are well appreciated

I just don't know if armor amount detection for 1st is codable, check the B.L.U.T.
2nd is nice.
3rd is somehow unusable in team fights but seeing ultimate explains it all.
Btw can u check my heroes? (see signature)

The ultimate is way too imba.

If people play him quite well, he will never be killed by ENEMIES.

Really nice hero! Although you could tweak some things:

1st skill : This one is nice and seems very balanced. Maybe increase the -armor/+armor duration.

2nd skill: Too much mana cost for a not so powerful spell. Buff it up a bit. It will basically cost all your mana to drain 1% of current HP per second plus 500 HP for all your mana.

3rd skill: A well-thought skill and balanced. Great!

Ulti: Not much to say here... Fits the theme and is greatly synergetyc. Really nice!

The armour increment/decrement is already too imba.

This spell is VERY powerful. Kept on any longer it will be imbalanced...

Wow, its actually balanced! That is a tricky theme to make work.
I really like the icons, the work you put in shows.

Is it possible to trigger his ult early by clicking it?

That's pretty much all I've got Spells are creative, and very well balanced in my opinion. I like that his strength is greator than his agility.

I have one question. Have you considered reducing the movespeed bonus in the ult a little to add a zero pathing aspect for the spell? Late game with chasing items he should catch most people, but creeps can still prevent him from catching people. I wouldn't give him flying pathing (from your balancing skillz, I'd say you agree that that would be imba) but when the ground gets sufficiently cluttered, a 522 night stalker still gets bogged down. Considering you've only got a short revive duration, it might be worthwhile.
I can understand leaving it as-is though. If an enemy is smart enough to creep/image block purposefully, he should get away

Thanks, I took quite awhile to figure out the concept etc.

Yes, it is. Pretty much the same way borrowed time works.

About the phasing, I'd think it would be quite imba plus it wouldnt fit the theme of the spell. He shouldnt be insubstantial. Still I understand where you're coming from but a hero cant have everything.

Maybe I missed it, but what is the duration of the revival for the ult. The buff for revival is 8/9/10, but how long does he hang around after he comes back? Or is the 8/9/10 the total time?

T-up although the model is nice, it doesn't look warcraftish but since there's AA, it's okay.
