I can be wrong, but the "factor" is the IAS/X, which X = factor.
So, factor 2 = half their AS. Factor 4 = 25% of their AS. Factor 5 = 20% ... Am I wrong? Well...there's a reference about its mechs. Never mind this.

Or if you want to say so, it is refering to the number of different slows. So the factor of 2 has 2 seperate slow intervals. One of 100%, and one of 50% after which the unit is moving normay again. => 2 slows, => factor 2 The factor of 3 means that there are 3 intervals. 100%, 66.7% and 33.3% => 3 slows, => factor 3 While factor 5 means (who would have guessed it?) that there are 5 intervals. 100% 80% 60% 40% and 20% => 5 slows, => factor 5

Thanx Yendor for the explanation.
Also, I've just read the purge guide. I guess word "factor" should be replaced to "instances". English isn't my language, but factor can be interpreted as denominator IMO. Then...I t-up. More instances of slow, or "factor", means the enemy will get a smoother slow, so that's better for enemy and worse for you.
