Imho, you should add a template so that everyone's nominations are laid out in one style, making it look better.

also, this should be stickied.

Golden Sobi Mask? I always wondered where'd you get the idea of a mask as a trophy.

Will vote later.

I am thinking about putting up a template, and I have one in the works. Will add that up later.

And about the name, I just patterned it after the Golden Roshan Awards. Seeing that the logo for the A&M Discussion is the Sobi Mask I decided to go after that and bam, here it is.

"Voters may vote for up to three candidates per category. However, within a category any candidate may only be voted once."

Clarification needed. Did you mean you can NOMINATE up to three candidates in one category and limited to only one vote per category?

No. All three votes are counted. However, to avoid the abusive act of a member using all three votes for a single candidate, a limit is placed such that a candidate can be voted in a category once.

Also, you are not mandated to vote for three candidates per category. It can be just one or two.

That doesn't make any sense, imho. If that's the case, we'll see a lot of ties. I suggest you revert it back to one vote per person per category.

that's also mainly because rule 2 and 5 are somewhat contradictory lol.

Edit: You can just merge 2nd and 5th rule.
Edit: Add "Clown of the Season" as a category.

Best battle scene/animation/dynamics :3

IMO, Imouto of the season feels rather weird. Trap of the season as well.

Anime movies are also a rather limited category ~

I kinda know about that. If you want those to be removed then go justify it.

Best animation is already there LOL.

It was me who suggested the 3 votes per category thing.
The main purpose of which is to maximize the number of votes.
In case of ties, what about if we rank our votes per category by
1st, 2nd, and 3rd?
1st gets 3 points, 2nd gets 2 points and 3rd gets 1 point.
That's only if ties exist.
But if no ties exist, each vote is counted as 1 point.

Imouto and trap of the season doesn't apply to most of the animes. Not many animes emphasize mainly on them, so the selection range isn't that wide to begin with. That doesn't make it much fun hurf durf >:

Same with anime movies. Anyone watched anything other then break blade? o_O

The only way to maximize the votes is by increasing the amount of people voting, not by increasing the amount of votes a person can do. What you're suggesting only increases the number of vote counts, and that isn't necessary because we all know that A&M doesn't have that much traffic.

There's always the option to abstain in the Imouto and Trap categories. For the Anime Movie, I am considering removing it, seeing that in the last season there is only one person who posted a vote in that category. What do you guys think?

EDIT: Trap amendment done.

Probably, I chose the wrong word there about maximizing -,-
What I meant is that by voting 3 entries per category, the entries' votes can be increased. Yeah, it's not necessary but this way the winner can be viewed much better. Looking back on the previous season awards, we have almost different choices for every category so there's a big chance that a winner is chosen just because he got 2 votes and the rest got one.
IMO, it's probably better to say that the winner is declared because he's one of everybody's favorites than be a winner just because he differs from others by just 1 or 2 votes considering we have low number of voters.

Anyway, just saying.
I'm not forcing this but just wanna hear some opinions

Lol. Wouldn't voting just one character make it clearer that you want that character to win?

Say, there are 4 people voting. The score went A=4, B=3, C=1. Of course, all four of them favored A, but since they're given the chance to vote for other nominees, B and C got some votes. Wouldn't it be better if it came out as 4, 0, 0 so that the result would be better clarity-wise?

also, can someone please make a banner for this??

^it would be a hassle to turn back to 3vote per category now (since i already voted Dx)...how about if we put psychvirus' suggestion to the test next season?

If you want the character to win, then vote only for him.. =.=
For me, it doesn't matter if the winner totally raped other nominees as long as he wins because most voters agrees with it.

Anyway, guess I have nothing to worry about since we'll have much more voters probably than the previous so I'll just leave this as is.

That would render the 3-vote system useless then. Am I wrong?

Lol we can go on with this all day, but that doesn't change the fact that the 1-vote system is still better.

I think each of the 2 voting systems has its own merits...

1-vote is better when there's a clear cut favorite (4/0/0 case Senjo suggested), where as 3-vote is better when the votes are a lot closer and there isn't always a clear winner (the case PsychVirus suggested with the winner winning by a mere 1 or 2 votes).

I don't think it matters though, at least not for this season

Of course, Hideyoshi is Vote-able as Hideyoshi is in an OVA this season. Btw, Hideyoshi is not a trap, Hideyoshi's gender is Hideyoshi, so Hideyoshi can not be a trap =P

Lol we can go on with this all day, but that doesn't change the fact that the 1-vote system is still better.
Of course, it would be useless if you don't use it. But I don't think everybody would ignore their chances to vote another nominee.

Like what I said, the suggestion is to adjust with the low no. of voters but it turns out that it'll fail due to some flaws so thank you for your opinions

I'll post here some links on the main characters and side characters together with their respective seiyuus/VA's since last season's awards, some voters don't know who's main and who's the supporting.
So here it is.

Oh, I just copypasta it. For KnT S2 OP, I don't know which is which but I also prefer Sawakaze which is more popular, others were Soufuu and Sayaka.

For Gosick OP, in some youtube vids and on MAL as well,
it's also destine instead of destin.
But I'll edit it to destin based on Wiki.

Edited the list. Thanks

lol. Gosick's OP is french, hence the correct one is Destin Histoire. MAL and ANN are obviously not paying attention to their "French" know-how.

I don't know where you got "Sayaka", but it has always been Sawakaze. Although, I can't blame the people who thought the title was Soufuu because Soufuu and Sawakaze had the same character (爽風).

I wasn't paying attention to the title when I copied it
but I know Sawakaze has been the title of the OP coz I've been listening to it.

And about that french thingy, I don't have any clue about that

I won't be making any contributions in this thread this time. I haven't watched a lot of animes this Winter + I'm genuily hoping that Japan will recover from its disasters soon. I'm not just a fan of A&M, but of jap culture & traditions in general. Everyone from Japan (here or otherwhere) have my forumish support.

Sorry AMD.

Meh, the perfectionist on me is hitting me hard. =/

Will this season's awards even be complete without Madoka's finale?
If Madoka's out of the picture, I can't honestly find an anime that's ahead from the rest of the pack.
