Price: 3900General Tips Avatar - Gives magic immunity - Duration and cooldown decrease each time it is used, being 10/9/8/7/6/5 seconds, and cooldown 80/75/70/65/60/55 seconds. After 5 uses it stays at 5 second duration and 55 second cooldown - Blocks all non ultimate spells and also blocks primary based ultimate spells (such as Eclipse which is based off of Lucent Beam). However the wielder is not totally immune to magic. The following go right through BKB. - Any melee bash/critical - Naga Siren: Ensnare - Tormented Soul: Diabolic Edict - Gorgon: Purge - Techies: Suicide/land mine - Axe: Counter Helix/Culling Blade - Faceless Void: Chronosphere (it also doesn't work if BKB is activated during your cast time) - Nerubian Assasin: Vendetta - Death Prophet: Exorcism - Vengeful Spirit: Nether Swap - Doombringer: Doom - Juggernaut: Omnislash - Tidehunter: Anchor smash - Beastmaster: Wild Axes - Silencer: Global Silence - Bristleback: Quill Spray - Lord of Olympia: Static field - Earthshaker: Echo slam (first wave of echo slam that deals the initial damage will go through) - Enigma: Midnight Pulse - Tinker: March Of The Machines - Slardar: Amplify damage - SandKing: Caustic Finale - Geomancer: Geostrike/Earthbind - Witch Doctor: Voodoo restoration - Spiritbreaker: Greater bash/Netherstrike - Pit Lord: Pit Of Malice - Storm Spirit: Grapple Spells that deal no damage, but still cause side effects on BKB users: - Bane Elemental: Fiend's Grip - Necrolyte: Reaper's Scythe (the stun is applied) - Treant Protector: Overgrowth (the disable is applied) - Butcher: Dismember (the disable is applied) - Butcher: Meat Hook - Antimage: Mana Void - Terrorblade: Sunder Note: If the target is immune to magic, then it's HP will not change but Terrorblade's will. If Terrorblade is immune to magic, then his HP will not change but the target's will. Sunder will only have no effect if BOTH Terrorblade and the target unit are immune to magic. - Spirit Bear: Entangle - Enigma: Black Hole - Mercurial: Spectral Dagger (the slow is applied) - Sniper: Assasinate (the stun is applied) - Poison Touch (can be casted on BKBed hero but will have no effect. If BKB is used after Poison Touch, hero will be immune to slow but not to damage) - Warlock : Infernal (the stun is applied) - Warlock : Fatal bonds (immune if you were targeted directly, not immune if it bounced to you) - Sacred Warrior: Inner Vitality (if BKB is casted after Inner vitality, the buff will not be removed) - Magnataur: Reverse Polarity - Beastmaster: Primal Roar Items with effects that go through BKB - Dagon: you can cast it on a BKBed hero but it will have no effect - Maelstrom/Mjolnir (Chain lightning): the animation will occur but it will deal no damage - Corruption: goes through it completely - Maim : goes through it completely - Cold Attack: goes through it completely Special mentions - Wall of Illusion: magic immune heroes will be unable to create images. Usage Conditions - fragile carries that need magic immunity during team fights - intelligence heroes which need to land channeling spells (ie Crystal Maiden) Price: 5050General Tips -Provides 6HP/s. -Provides 1 MP/s for each Charge. -Consists of rather cheap components which makes it easier to farm. -Charges can be obtained just by being nearby with enemy hero's death. -Upon death, loses 1/2 charges and revive faster with less gold penalty depending on the number of charges. Usage Tips -Support heroes who will die a lot. Reason : Since they will be supporting the team, they will get charges fast. When they die they heal the rest of the team; since supporters die faster than other team-mates, both the direct HP boost and the AoE heal on death are useful. E.g. Dazzle. -Heavy mana dependent, frail INT heroes. Reason : Bloodstone provides heavy mana regeneration. Heroes like Zeus that lack HP are great users. -INT Heroes that need to be in the heat of battle. Reason : Bloodstone provides a good survivability boost. The bearer will revive faster and also heal his team-mates when he is defeated. E.g. Necrolyte, Krobelus. -Very heavy constant mana usage heroes such as Leshrac and Storm. Price: 2250General Tips Damage Block - gives a 70% chance to block 40 attack damage Special cases - if the wielder has more than one damage block source, they are individually checked in reverse order of acquisition, and only one can trigger Example: if the wielder has bought a Stout Shield first, then a Vanguard, if the latter's block succeeds, then Stout Shield will not be checked anymore. Careful! This is especially true for Tidehunter, because if you bought a Stout Shield THEN learned 1st level of Kraken Shell, your Stout Shield will never be used. Kraken Shell was acquired last and is thus checked first, but since it always goes off, the Stout Shield never has a chance to kick in! In that case, the optimal order would be Kraken Shell, Stout Shield then Vanguard. Even if your 2 items fail, Kraken's 100% chance will act as a safety net, taking effect no matter what. - for multiple Vanguards, Damage Block amounts DO NOT stack - chances to block incoming damage stack dimishingly (the damage blocks are checked in reverse order of aquisition; the amount of the first one which procs is used and all others will be ignored) - the chances for 2 Vanguards to block incoming damage are calculated as follows: Usage Conditions - Vanguard is best used against physical damage, DPS heroes - best for heroes that need to negate creeps attacks, tower hits when diving, etc |
Price: 5675General Tips -Turns a target into a sheep. -Hex disables block and evasion. -Reduce the units base movement speed to 100. -Affected Units retain its Health, Mana, Armor and Armor Type. -Destroys illusions. -Hex lasts 3.5seconds, cost 100mana, has a 35 second cooldown, and an 800 cast range. Usage Conditions -You need an disable. -You need an extra disable in your combo. -You need the disable to ensure your other skills hits. -You need high MP regen. -You need more INT whether for MP or Damage. -Mind Games. Price: 5025General Tips -Has Soul Burn. -Soul Burn silences a target unit and amplifies the damage it takes by 20% -Amplified damage is dealt at the end of the duration as magic damage -Lasts 5 seconds, costs 100 mana, has a 25 second cooldown, and a 900 cast range Usage Conditions -You need more INT. -You need more DPS. -To silence a magic-caster while killing it off quickly. -Have high damage and want increase your damage even further. -Combo-ing with high damaging skills. -You are an INT DPS hero. Price: 2800General Tips -Movement speed bonus does not stack with other Eul's Scepters of Divinity -Cyclones a target unit, making it invulnerable and unable to act. -Can target enemies or allies. -Last 2.5 seconds, cost 75mana, has a 30 second cooldown, and a 600 cast range. -Razor's Static Link works even when the Static Linked person is cycloned. Usage Conditions -When you need an disable. -You are a hero chaser. -You need MP and MP regen. Price: 2200General Tips -Pushes a unit 500 units in the direction it is facing. -25 manacost and 25 second cooldown. -Synergise with Distance related spell, such as Impetus, Mana Leak, Rupture. -Semi-escape mechanism. Price: 2850General Tips -Burst Damage of 400/500/600/700/800. -Upgradable to increase damage. -Magic Damage. (Magic Resistance will apply.) -Benefits with/from skills such as: >Pugna's Decrepify >Vol'jin's Maledict >Necrolyte's Reaper's Scythe >Warlock's Fatal Bonds -Good for skill combo-ing. Usage Conditions -Able to farm enough for Dagon before everyone esle get their survival items to tank it. -Enemies doesnt have high magic resistance. -Have combo-ing skills and benefit from the extra burst damage. -Will survive long enough in a battle to pull off more than 1 Dagon hits to maximize its usage. -Have skills that would enchance the Dagon's Damage. Price: 2750General Tips -Has basic disables. -Endurance Aura -True Sight -Mana burn -HP and MP Boost Usage Conditions -Hero's skill will involve disabling yourself (Bane Elemental). -Fighting invisible heroes. -Fighting heroes that are heavily MP reliant. -Lack of disables. -Have good micro-ing skills. Price: 4300General Tips -Ultimate Upgrade upgrades the ultimate of certain heroes when acquired, details can be found on the appropriate hero page -Provides a special effect on your hero. Usage Conditions -Your ultimate is upgradable. Price: 5300General Tips -Resets Cooldowns of all skills (including usable item) -375 mana, 210 second cooldown. -Great for hero with powerful skills but long cooldown. -Great for hero with game breaking skills. -Tinker has Rearm, which renders Refresher useless. Usage Conditions -Have enough mana to support more than 2 combos of the skills with refresher. -Lucifer with Refresher can essentially render 2 heroes useless instantly during a teambattle. -Warlock can rain two infernals which is also destructive not only to heroes, but to towers too. Good for lane pushing. -Rhasta's double ward trap, if played well, can wipe out a team within seconds. -Have enough HP to survive through your combos. |
Price: 2050General Tips - All of it's effects are auras, so only one of your team-mates should get this. - An upgrade to Ring of Basilius, which is a very common item in the early stages of the game. - Grants an aura of 16% melee life-steal. This does stack with any other orb the hero has. - Grants an aura of 0.8 mana regeneration. - Grants an aura of 5 armor. (Does not stack with itself or Assault Cuirass) - Grants an aura of 15% bonus damage. (Which is based off of base damage and damage from attribute points.) - All auras have an AoE of 1100. Usage conditions - Illusions do not benefit from any of these auras, thus do not purchase this item for heroes like Phantom Lancer. - The aura is null when the bearer is invisible. - If the main carry is melee, someone else should buy Vladimir's Offering. The carry needs that gold for better items. - A melee support hero is an ideal carrier. Being a supporter he does not need much gold overall, so he can buy Vladimir's for the benefit of his entire team. (e.g. Abaddon) - Melee carries that are orb dependent will find the life-steal aura useful. (e.g. Yurnero, Rikimaru) |
Price: 5400General Tips Mini-Bash - Gives a 35% chance to bash on attacks - Deals 100 bonus damage and stuns for 0.01 seconds - Cancels any previous stun/bash (Troll/Void/Spiritbreaker/Slardar or Cranium Basher) - Overrides Nerubian Weaver's Geminate Attack (if the wielder is NW, Geminate Attack will never occur) True Strike - Causes your attacks to never miss - Counters Troll's Blind, Mortred's Blur, Pandaren's Drunken Haze, Alleria's Windrunner, Riki's Smoke, Butterfly's Evasion and any terrain advantage - Does not work when attacking towers from lower terrain (you will still have a chance to miss) - Does not work against Void's Backtrack and motion buffers (ie target blinking away before the projectile reaches him will cause you to miss) - Does not stack properly with orb or chance abilities like Frost Arrows (Traxex), Headshot (Sinper), etc - Does not interfere at all with any other attack modifiers on melee heroes - Does not stack with Buriza-do-Kyanon’s critical strike on a ranged hero (ie you will not get a critical strike on a ranged hero if True Strike is toggled ON, this is because True Strike is coded as a 100% 1x critical with the option: never miss enabled. So basically it doesn't stack with another critical. However, there’s no problem for a melee hero) - Fully stacks with lifesteal Usage Conditions - Your enemies have evasion (Mortred, Windrunner, any hero with Butterfly) or can make your attacks miss (Pandaren, Troll, Riki) - You need a boost in DPS Price: 5150General Tips Burn Damage -burns 40 damage per second in a 650 AoE -damage dealt is magical -does not stack with another Radiance (regardless it's held by the original wielder or an allied hero) -in case multiple Radiances affect the same AoE, the first one present in that AoE will burn damage (rest of them are ignored) -cancels Bane Elemental's Nightmare -it will reveal the wielder even it it's invisible (will trigger creeps aggression) Usage Conditions -wielder needs AoE damage or can maximize it's effect with images (ie Spectre) -Radiance is good for heroes lacking farming skills however I'd recommend getting the item only if you can farm it fast enough -Has great synergy with Doombringer's Scorched Earth Price: 6000General Tips -Provides 30 Agility -Provides 30 Damage -Provides 30% Evasion -Provides 30 AS. -Evasion is overridden by Alleria's Windrunner, doesn't stack with Mortred's Blur or itself -Evasion is countered by Monkey King Bar's True Strike Usage Conditions -The Butterfly is a DPS item, suitable for heroes based on dealing high amounts of physical damage (DPS carries/semi-carries) -Enemy are pure DPS - use this to lower their effective damage. -Agility hero to gain a total of 60damage, a good sum of armor and more attack speed. -Strength hero to hit harder. -Heroes with LifeSteal to boost its effectiveness (Steal more, get hit less.) Price: 4350General Tips -Melee's cleave in cone shape. -Range's can't cleave. -35% Cleave -225 Aoe -Possible to archive 105% damage (Damage Amplification) via 3 Battlefuries but not recommended. Usage Conditions -Bloodseeker for mass HP regen with Bloodbath. -Against any image heroes to quickly take out their images thus lowering their DPS. (Phantom Lancer, Chaos Knight, Naga Siren) -Have high damage and able to survive easily. -Needs to rush items quickly for lategame. (Phantom Assassin) -Enemys tends to rush in numbers. -Timestopper for Chronosphere-Battlefury mass-kill combo. Extra Notes: Make sure you can stay alive long enough in battle before considering Battlefury. Price: 2850General Tips - The HP loss (both the degeneration while activated and the loss of health when turned off) is non-fatal; it cannot kill the user. Use this fact in combination with the health bonus Armlet gives. - When activated, the +25 Strength bonus essentially grants a 475 HP 'heal'. Very useful for playing mindgames, and surviving battles/ganks where you would drop dead quickly without Armlet. - The cooldown for activating Armlet starts not after turning it off, but begins right after activation. This means if you can survive for 10 seconds after turning it on, you can deactivate, then quickly turn back on Armlet for yet another 475 HP bonus! Usage Conditions -Team-clashes -When being ganked -Mindgames |
Price: 4500General Tips -Many often overlook its speed, IAS, and Maim. -Remember that 15 Maim (AS and MS slow) could save you from a battle, even winning it. -12% movement speed is good for chasers. -It has a double function - Speeding you up and slowing others down. [Usage Conditions] -Theres a hero that you can kill, but keep missing the kill because he could outrun you. -You lost to a hero in battle in terms of raw damage output. -You have need a slow to help you chase heroes. -You need HP. -You need IAS and Armor. Price: 4400General Tips -Has Corruption -Causes attacks to place a buff that reduces armor by 6 -Buff lasts 5 seconds -Does not stack multiple instances, regardless the attacks are from the same hero or not -Each hit will only reset the duration of the buff to 5 seconds, but the armor decrease itself won't change -Stacks with any armor reduction skill in the game or Assault Cuirass aura Usage conditions -very useful for heroes that rely on physical DPS -Great for heroes with armor reduction skills to take out opponents faster (Vengeful Spirit, Shadow Fiend, etc) or Assault Cuirass aura. -Fighting Tanks with low armor. -Fighting DPSers with high armor. Price: 3300General Tips -A good disable if you dont have any. -It deals 99999 damage to ANY summons. That means instant kill. -It can purge any buffs, even God Strength. Usage Conditions -If your enemy has a very powerful buff such as Sven's God Strength. -If your enemy has a very powerful summon such as Warlock's Infernal. -If your enemy is faster than you and you have a hard time catching up. -If you can kill but lack of disable. -If enemy has alot of mana and he is mana dependant. -If your attack is fast but weak. |

Price: 200General Tips -Stacks with itself in inventory -2 charges -Has Place Ward -Places a Sentry Ward to give True Sight of the surrounding area -Sentry Ward has 200 vision, 800 AoE True Sight, 200 HP, and is invisible -Sentry Ward lasts 3 minutes Usage Conditions -Counter true invisible hero. (Motred's Blur does not count.) -Counterwarding by revealing other wards. Price: 90General Tips -Stacks with itself in inventory -3 charges -Has Eat Tree -Eats a tree to restore 115 HP over 16 seconds -Purge will end the effect even though the status icon will remain Usage Conditions -Stay in lane longer. -Juking with Eat Tree Price: 135General Tips -Never underestimate its price. While it look cheap and spammable at 135 gold, dont buy it unless you are confident that its worth it. In the long run, alot money can be lost wasting on the scroll. If you will be heavily ganking, get Boots of Travel. -Its a very, very good escape mechanism too. Unless your enemy has stun, you can virtually escape from anything as long you can survive for 3 seconds. Examples: Any heroes' poisons & slow (Viper, Dragonknight) that would be impossible to run from otherwise. -Usable during Rhasta's shackle. Wow. You've done one item. And you're linking from your sig. And you're saying that people should be concerned about the cost of TP. Here's a better hint: ALWAYS HAVE A TP SCROLL.
Always. It lets you countergank, defend, escape, hop lanes, push better... One of the first things I teach friends new to the game is to have a TP scroll. Without it, good mapsense means the enemy can push and gank in a completely uncontested way. Apologies for the rant. Good luck with the project, but I'd suggest having a solid start before you try to get others to contribute - otherwise you're liable to just get people flaming, not following a standardized template etc.

Haha, thanks for the reply. I kinda rushed it in an hour before school. was planning to fill it in by my free time, and with a computer that reformats itself everyday, the forum is a better place =P
Thanks for commenting =P (Flamers let them be. Maybe their flames will bring some good ideas.)

I agree with you, get it only on those situations...
getting lots of tp is stupid. I know some of my fds who enjoys buying tp scroll to get back to lane quickly but then had to keep another one for escaping ganks purposes etc....

Item : Sange and Yasha
An item under-rated nowdays, people tend to stick to other items However, since its cost got nerfed, it has been an item that is worth the price. Battlefury has been the choice instead of sange and yasha for its mana regeneration and splash + damage. However i will explain to you when and how is SnY used in some situations. General uses: For heros who lack either HP/MS/Attack speed Specfic heros: Bounty Hunter, Rouge Knight , Omni Knight, Morphling Pros: Makes up for lack of attack speed, Hp, Move speed and it can be built in parts, extremely powerful mid-game item, Allows the hero to outrun the enemy without SnY or BoT. (In a normal situation) Cons: No mana regen, Orb effect, Not too useful for a late game. Sange and Yasha is a very verstile item for heros who need an extra push in the attack speed, Hp , movespeed and sometimes the maim. It gives the hero an increase in either 1 of these attributes while maintaining the role of the hero. Example: Omniknight (Slow attack speed, Average move speed) Sange and Yasha gives the Omniknight the move speed and attack speed required to chase down the enemy. Degen aura is a pain in the ass. Add on maim and extra move and attack speed and it will be the killer. However, as a late game item, although still useful, the money can be better invested on other more worthy items such as Butterfly, Heart or Burize (I won't deny that). Hence SnY is a worthy item IF you can dominate the mid-game which will secure your late game. Situations to use in: Planning to end in mid-game, Massive ganking in mid-game, Unable to farm (SnY allows you to buy in parts) Situations NOT to use in: Buying this item after OR during midgame (best is to get it up by mid game or latest - mid-late game). Examples of hero unsuitable for this item: Tanker (Pudge, Centaur), INT hero, Heros with an orb effect skill as a SKILL. For heros who plan to get other orb, some might work with SnY (Lifesteal only does not happen when maim triggers) Conclusion: Use it for Mid-game and on heros which need the extra attributes while maintaining their role. |

Try and put some basic items like mantles, slippers, gauntlets and etc first, putting this guide on your sig with not much information is just embarrassing when people look at this thread.

Ambitious project. Lemme be the one to write the first draft for Armlet, cause it's just that awesome an item
![]() Price: 2850 General Tips - The HP loss (both the degeneration while activated and the loss of health when turned off) is non-fatal; it cannot kill the user. User Tips: Quote:
-Team-clashes -When being ganked -Mindgames Good luck with this!

But now you can no longer use Armlet with HoT because the latter won`t offer regen anymore during battles. I think lifesteal + Armlet works better now.

an extra note to armlet, the "heal" can be used to save yourself from zues's ulti and sniper's ulti if you time it well.

I will try with diffusal blade.
Diffusal Blade = 2 x Blade of Alacrity + Robe of the Magi + Recipe 3300 = 2 x 1000 + 450 + 850 When to buy: 1) When you can use your feedback with very good. This is achieved by adding IAS and having illusions. Thus it was great with heroes such as Phantom Lancer, Naga Siren, Spectre (?), Chaos Knight (?). * Feedback won't work on ranged illusions. * Feedback is an orb effect, and orb effects do not stack. * Burns 20 mana on first upgrade, and 36 mana on second. 2) When you can use your purge effectively, i.e. when facing heroes like Omniknight (removes repel), Warlock (removes infernal), Broodmother (removes ultimate), etc. * A list of purgeable (de)buffs is here: Post. Thank you -]stOka[- for the link. Credit him too ![]() * Deals 99999 damage to summoned and illusion units. * Non-hero units will be paused for the first 3 seconds instead of slowed. * Slow lasts 4 seconds, Purge has a 12 second cooldown, and a 600 cast range. 3) When you need to have more agility. (Manta Style and Butterfly is better imo)When to upgrade: 1) When you really need more mana burn, but this is usually rare. 2) When your purge charge have depleted. 3) More agility? lol Tips: 1) Purge can also be used to allies, REMEMBER THAT. For example, purge your ally with amplify damage, track, overgrowth, etc. 2) If you have feedback, doesn't mean you need to instantly jump to the middle of the battle and attack everyone. 3) I'm not sure but if you purge your ally with purgeable buffs, the buff will be removed too. So beware not to purge your ulti'ed Brood/Sven. I guess this mini-guide has finished. |

I`ll give it a shot on MKB.
5400 1500 1500 2400 Gives: +80 damage +15 attack speed True Strike (passive) Mini-Bash (passive) Mini-Bash - Gives a 35% chance to bash on attacks - Deals 100 bonus damage and stuns for 0.01 seconds - Cancels any previous stun/bash (Troll/Void/Spiritbreaker/Slardar or Cranium Basher) - Overrides Nerubian Weaver's Geminate Attack (if the wielder is NW, Geminate Attack with never occur) True Strike - Causes your attacks to never miss - Counters Troll's Blind, Mortred's Blur, Pandaren's Drunken Haze, Alleria's Windrunner, Riki's Smoke, Butterfly's Evasion and any terrain advantage - Does not work when attacking towers from lower terrain (you will still have a chance to miss) - Does not work against Void's Backtrack and motion buffers (ie target blinking away before the projectile reaches him will cause you to miss) - Does not stack properly with orb or chance abilities like Frost Arrows (Traxex), Headshot (Sniper), etc - Does not interfere at all with any other attack modifiers on melee heroes - Does not stack with Buriza-do-Kyanon’s critical strike on a ranged hero (ie you will not get a critical strike on a ranged hero if True Strike is toggled ON, this is because True Strike is coded as a 100% 1x critical with the option: never miss enabled. So basically it doesn't stack with another critical. However, there’s no problem for a melee hero) - Fully stacks with lifesteal When to get - Your enemies have evasion (Mortred, Windrunner, any hero with Butterfly) or can make your attacks miss (Pandaren, Troll, Riki) - You need a boost in DPS Hope it helps, cheers ShiNe |
