Default [ANIMATION] Tombstone


Introduction

When Dirge uses Tombstone to call forth his zombies, a huge obelisk with 3 acolytes pop out of nowhere to start spawning zombies... which really doesn't make alot of sense. Where do all those acolytes come from?

A New Tombstone

The model below is ladder's Eye of Sageras. It was previously tinted black and used as Enigma's Black Hole. Not only does it look all green and unholy (like the rest of Dirge's icons and skills), it also comes with its own "birth" and "death" animations! It fades in when summoned and explodes when destroyed.


The splat of blight at its bottom does not come with the model, but can be easily set by modifying the tombstone's property in the Object Editor.



Zombies

On top of that, play Abilities\\Spells\\Undead\\RaiseSkeletonWarrior\\R aiseSkeleton.mdl whenever a zombie spawns. The zombies just pop out abrupty every 3 seconds currently, and adding this animation gives it a smoother transition.


Also, replace the zombies' Deathstrike icon from to .


Skill Targetting

Finally, Tombstone is a 400/600/800/1000 AoE skill. When casting it, the cursor shown should be AoE instead of a crosshair.


Summary of Changes
  • Remove the acolytes accompanying the tombstone.
  • Change the current tombstone model to the Eye of Sageras model (Doodads\Cinematic\EyeOfSargeras\EyeOfSargeras.mdl.
  • Give zombies a spawn animation (Abilities\\Spells\\Undead\\RaiseSkeletonWarrior\\R aiseSkeleton.mdl).
  • Change zombies' Deathstrike icon.
  • Add AoE targetting for Tombstone.

It's more useful to know if you retain the point target since you'd only summon the Tomb itself but have something similar to Alch's stun.

BTW this just got in my mind, if the Eye is hard to click this would be some sort of buff to Dirge.

It has a proper collision box. Isn't hard to click at all.

Model can be better though. can we just add a birth animation to the obelisk? coz the tombstone imo is better

Even though I like it I must admit that it's disturbing and a bit too big.
Also the icon change for the zombies is a must.

The Eye of Sargeras model is not bad but I like the current model more
A Tombstone fits the theme well IMO
About the animation, we can easily trigger it, make it fades in when it is summoned, and add an effect when it is destroyed/timed up, maybe the Undead death effect
However, the Acolytes could be removed since they are not needed, and the size of the Tombstone could be reduced too

By the way, I like the ground texture and zombies spawn effects
Icon could be a little more better edited
And AoE targetting seems unneeded since its quite big and covers up the whole screen
