Dark Seer, the diamond in the rough waiting to be discovered.

He's a trickster who manipulates space and time to confuse both his enemies and his allies if you play public b.net games. Vacuum can push or pull your opponent. Ion Shell can be divided among friend or foe to create a devastating DoT. Surge puts countless disables to shame and a speedy chicken is a novel experience. You can use one or all three spells to create a combo.

My issue is with Wall of Replica.
• Wall is created perpendicular to the line between the Dark Seer and the target point.

I suggest Dark Seer's ultimate becomes a Trail of Replica. Raises a trail out of pure mana behind the Dark Seer. Enemy heroes who attempt to pass through it will take damage and have images of themselves emerge from the trail to serve under the Dark Seer until the trail's duration is up.



Virtually everything stays the same except the casting range of the spell. Rather then a range it becomes a duration of time a trail follows you.

LvL1: Trail follows you for 4 seconds
LvL2: Trail follows you for 5 seconds
LvL3: Trail follows you for 6 seconds

Why implement this?
His ultimate is the last piece of the puzzle. As it stands now his ultimate is difficult to position for team battles and even then it often becomes obsolete after its 45 second duration. Using Trail of Replica with Surge will allow a player to carve a solution into the landscape that will be less easily avoided. This new approach is rather inventive when coupled with items such as Force Staff or Dagger.

  • I've always liked the idea of the wall moving. A bit like a huge bar code scanner, flowing forwards from Dark Seer at about 200 ms and replicating any hero it passes. To make up for the fact that it'll probably only replicate once, the replicas can be tougher and last longer.

No need to position it precisely. Put it on somewhere good and suck them in....

I really don't get why this skill should be changed again....

I'll attempt to woo you NoThlnG. You're right Wall of Replica does not need to be positioned perfectly. Perfect or not the battle will generally move away leaving Wall of Replica to sit there idly for the second half of the spells duration.

If Dark Seer was allowed to synergize his ultimate with Surge the level of usefulness his ult provides would be elevated. I envision Dark Seer being able to block a push but additionally block another route for the pushing team.

Trail of Replica grants the player with better crowd control and is more involved then Wall of Replica.

While I like the idea, I don't think this is actually a good change. This requires Dark Seer to move around the Battlefield relatively quickly to abuse it. Even at 522 ms this is a little unfeasible. I would rather have it just be a circle instead of a wall, so you can trap people with it better. Or even give DS a couple different shapes to form the wall into.

I think the suggestion is fine, but I also think that current one is fine. The key to use this skill is Vacuum. Either you are running around the foe or making a wall, just suck in those foes to make it a problem for them.

I must respectively disagree. There are dozens of heroes that require you on the edge of battle despite their paper qualities. Enigma's black hole, Oblivion's life drain or Witch Doctor's death ward to name a few. A player can purchase the appropriate items to dodge the heat. The best part of Surge is it shuts down so many maims. If its not a stun you will keep on cruising.

As funny as dropping a giant triangle Wall of Replica would be I believe this take on Dark Seer's ultimate maintains its current problem. It is too situational and easily avoided. Trail of Replica gives the player options and creativity.

Batrider has Flame Lasso that perfectly synergizes with his Firefly. Plus he goes up when using firefly which he can pass by and damage enemies on the ground.

Darkseer has nothing to support the Trail of Replica. Surge is does not even synergize with it. In order for this skill to be effective, darkseer must be chased down by an enemy then he can use the skill.

And even during battle clash, when darkseer uses this, it only lasts for 6 secs.. No opponent is too dumb to stay behind darkseer's back just to step on the "path or trail"..

it has nice concept,but I think it has some "difficulties" over how to create the wall...however,the synergy might be awesome,so I give a t-up

This is not so. Trail of Replica can be used in a variety of ways.
  • Halt Pushes
  • Assist Pushes
  • Increase DPS output during Battles
  • Block escape routes

Darkseer's ultimate will trail him for 6 seconds and will have the same time duration of 15/30/45 seconds. I am not suggesting Darkseer only use his trail for an escape mechanism.

Your concerns seem to suggest my vision is easily predicted/avoided. This concern can be applied to Wall of Replica in its current form. Using your imagination I am positive you can create a unique experience to wreak havoc on an unsuspecting b.net player.

great syn with surge. though now the spell model will have to be entirely remade cuz the current wall is a preexisting WC3 doodad. actually i think it will even be cooler if you can "draw" the wall as you run, so as to bend it any shape you want. so you have a duration for the trail on your back, and a duration for how long the drawn wall will remain. i suppose the coding will be much like spectral dagger.

The idea is extremely interesting, the synergy is just great.

Visual stuff will be somewhat bad since a new model has to be imported for it and it will most likely not look as good as the current one.

Anyway, let me think...

+awesome synergy with surge
+will allow funny moves
+also works fine with his other abilities

-you have to get close to the enemies, makes pushing much more difficult
-you can't place a wall "into" a cluster of enemies

Still, even though it is a quite drastic change, I totally like the idea.
