Default [Fix] Venomancer model (teamcolor feedback pls)


...yes model, you heard me right.

I want to hear your opinions about reimporting a fixed Hydralisk model for Venomancer.

Screenshots have not been updated with teamcolor, with the exception of the teamcolor screenshot (duh!)
Please give feedback on what teamcolor you prefer, or if you have ideas on how to give him better teamcolor say so.


Current Venomancer model is somewhat broken:

-The current model has no collision shapes, making it difficult to click
-The "head" attachment point is called "heaf", so it can't be used. Any effect attached to the head (not many atm, f/ex Sven's Warcry is one of them) do not work at all.
-The current model has no team color

The con is, of course, MSI. But I managed to compress it a lot, so it gets down to 17 kb. That's a bit LESS than 2 icons with BTN+DISBTN, so it should not really be a problem.

So here are the advantages one-by-one:

Clickability:

Right now, Venomancer can only be clicked if you directly hit a solid part of the model (Geoset). With a collision sphere, he can be clicked both on the solid parts and anywhere where he got the collision sphere.
Here's what the collision sphere looks like:

Due to the movement of his upper body, a sphere with this size and position seemed most fitting to me.

Here's an in-game example of the advantages, with the left model being the original venomancer and the right one being the new one.



As you can easily see, the left one can be selected with that cursor position while the right one can't.

Team color:

Update: New teamcolor, other screenshots not updated.

Current Venomancer got no Team Color. Not too much of an issue, but Team Color can be quite useful in many cases. I tried to keep MSI small, so I used a somewhat way with somewhat limited options to give him team color. I can make it stronger or give him a real glow, but anything more sophisticated would require a texture reimport.

Head attachment point:

As I already said, the current model has a broken head attachment point.
In the suggested model, this attachment point is fixed.
Examples for head attachments are Chaos Meteor's fire (Invoker) and Return damage (Centaur), but take into consideration that that's about it. There are really not many attachments requiring a head attachment point.

I put it in visuals because 2 changes (attachment point and team color) are visual changes. Also I like the visuals subforum more

Bane has good collision shapes, he just got a weird body and sometimes moves out of his spheres. I'll only fix extreme cases.

Obviously this is getting implemented.

Can you change the colour to a proper hero glow though? Your versions are pretty feeble for the Scourge colours tbh, you can't see them.

And I kinda like that head effect for his aghs >_>
