Default [COSMETIC] TiMER FOR TP SCROLLS


TL;DR VERSION:

Simply adding a timer showing the seconds of casting left of a particular Scroll of Town Portal (just like Replicate, numbers popping out each second, down to 0).

Both these ideas are also excellent, in case the idea of adding yet more numbers doesn't appeal to some users. Any help coding them is more than appreciated.




Since the addition of Scrolls of Town Portal (tp) taking extra time to cast when two or more players used it on the same tower, I've seen a lot of people cancelling the chanelling before it's finished (due to them being used to the regular casting time).


Probably most people browsing this thread knows that by queueing the commands the hero will act as soon as it is teleported, but bear in mind that the vast majority of the people playing this game will not browse this thread, let alone this forum.

And is that portion of the player-base that this suggestion is directed at: At the newcomer/casual player that it's not enough into the game (yet) to be reading online guides and learning all the mechanic nitpicks, but that will surely appreciate such graphic help.

For practical reasons, this feature could be disabled by doing something as simple as typing "-ds" or something of the sort.

I don't think adding numbers to everything is the way to go.

Maybe make the channeling animation sinks and make it always end at a certain point.

A command is not bad though.

Might as well be that. I agree that flooding the screen with timers may not be the universal answer, but at least there's no arguing its effectiveness.

Your idea is also good. I can't code for shit, but would be nice if someone could make some kind of representation for it.

I prefer some kind of animation than numbers but if that can't be done, I guest it's ok to use timer.

Show the lower part of TP (scaled smaller) if TP will finish cooldown after 10 seconds... Only allied can see the effect...

T-Up as well. The delayed TP sometimes annoyed me especially when it is delayed even though the allies already finished teleporting

Can't it be a loading bar which is placed over the hero or something. It'll be similar to doom's devour interface but it'll be cleaner and smoother. Now that I remember it, that devour suggestion had a cleaner and smoother animation than the one that we have now.

I'm giving this a t-up since it'll help a great number of players..

Both these ideas are very good. Alas, I am not exactly good at coding. I will try to get someone to make a representation of them (Or if someone here would do me the honor, it would be much appreciated.
