Exclamation [BUFF] Current Sniper or [Complete Remake]






Imo Sniper is totally underused and only fits in rare situation. He's often hated by casters and ends up as 1 hit for the enemies in most cases. First of all he's a really slow ms making him very vulnerable. 15% Slow in 300 Aoe won't stop you from stunning and killing him. Shrapnell isnt as suited as farming skill as his former shrapnell was. Besides he's really boring to play. Just rightclick and rely on ministuns, which is more luck than any skill. On higher leagues nobody picks him. In over 90% no hero stays the full duration in shrapnells AoE. 48 DPS isnt the best option for lasthitting. So I was thinking about some solutions which could make him more fun, better for competitive use concerning survivability and reliability
Current Sniper:
[/B]What do people buy? Mask of madness to improve MS and AS which isnt "sniper theme". They buy Lothars to have an escape mechasnism at least or S&Y. All in one increase AS and MS which makes him more Rifleman than Sniper. Snipers ONE-shot their enemies. Sniper cloak in their environment to not be discovered. This sniper has no cloak at all. 40% ministun. You want as much ministun as possible. What you do? You buy AS items. Without allies he's often a pure freekill.



Please comment on the idea. I don't know how to implent skill tables etc. Im a noob with that :O So I want to excuse in advance. This is one of my first threads.

T-Up for Conservative Sniper and T-Down on the rest. Sniper doesn't need his skillset changed, if you don't like it then either learn it or don't play as Dwarven Sniper.

Off-T: If you want Sniper to be changed then feel free to check out my signature and take the "[BUFF] Dwarven Sniper" link to see what I proposed and what I think would fix Dwarven Sniper to become more viable as a hero.

Former Naix had 3 passives and only ult was active. Though he was fun to play, he got changed and is still very fun to play. Why shouldn't we consider a complete remake as well?

Bc dota players love Passives. I see many players get 3-4 Passives everytime in -OmG. Leo is well beloved. I hate sniper/Leo/old naix right-clIckers too but we are in the minority and majority rules so ice won't remake sniper. Naix remake was primarily because he was auto-win in pubs like current bara. So if anything bara needs a remake

bump. MORE opinions plz. If he stayts the way he is:

MB add to conservative rescaling of Take Aim to 75/130/195/260 to f**king match Traxxes range at lvl 1.

and reduce Assasinate manacost to 150/225/300 instead of 175/275/375
-25/-50/-75 mana less

You can't be more wrong. IceFrog does anything to please/kissass those fucking competitive players, which are like 1% of the DotA community. Don't be so hasty to make assumptions if you don't know you're right or not. DotA is not based on what normal people want.

I played some clan wars already at pick league but I wouldnt call myself competitive player. However, sniper has always been a fail choice in "more competitive" games and I got few clue of gameplay since I play it for some years now.

Though your changes are interesting, Sniper doesnt need a complete remake since he isnt that bad a hero.
Just this Dota version has been unkind to squishy carries without stuns (like SF/Sniper/Drow etc)

I have always felt that the Shrapnel spell is the most idiotic spell for sniper and doesnt fit his theme (Range/Headshot/Assassinate all fit perfectly).

I personally think he needs a cloaking/invis spell . Your master of cloak spell is pretty nice.Please start a thread suggesting it to replace that shitty shrapnel.

Hello, i have some tipps for your visual. First of all a template. I have mine from this thread. Click it! Scroll down and you see "Current Gondar Template:" open spoiler and you get the whole gondar template how it is in here. Click it! You have to change the things like images, story and enter your sniper suggestion there. It will make your suggestion more "eye-candy". By the way dont spoil your whole thread. Spoil is for something which you dont have to see, but is maybe a look worth. Also dont write mega fat like this and italicis just for rand-informations. And try to find icons which look like an icon set, so they fit when you place them near each other. No one wants to see things like this:


They dont fit together.
This should be enough atm. It takes some time to get a good looking visual suggestion.

By the way... you can go on Preview Post, so you will see how it looks like when you posted it.

After some thinking: 60% slow might be a little bit too strong. But 45% should be fine.

My throne was about 300 hp from death and I pretty much did a 1v5 while my team defended the base. Game ended at 70 mins in.
Instead of complaining about things like ms, why don't you get ms items?
Instead of complaining about being focused by casters, you should play him more like a sniper and be in the back field.

Idea regarding invis instead of shrapnel:
If sniper stays in one location for 4 seconds without being spotted by the enemy, he goes under cover and is able to fire while remaining invisible.
He must remain in this position, if he moves he will become visible to enemies.

Obvious rebalanced required, but I believe this would be sick and make him much more like a sniper.
Maybe make it a castable spell which requires mana and has cooldown.

You can rarely farm this items if you're ganked. Staying back doesn't help when you' re ripped apart by Bara, Smoke of deceit ganks, Invis rune butcher, Blink heroes. Dagger slad or dagger lion. You' re not invisible while casting it. You get a little bit different looking tree. you can't move or attack. If you cancel you look normal again. If you cancel earlier you could keep the unobstructed vision for the full 3,5 sec at lvl 4.
