Description: Aladaer Solaris is a powerful support hero with great team presence. His most potent combo revolves around his ultimate skill Last Laugh and his primary skill Perform. Last Laugh deals more damage if the target performs no actions over the duration, and Perform allows him to completely disable the target, causing Last Laugh to reach its full potential. The Entertainer's other skills help him in his support role. Repulsion is a versatile skill that creates a barrier around the targeted unit as he moves. Juggle is a passive skill that tampers with enemy buffs and debuffs.

Background Story:Aladaer was one of the most famous entertainers in his realm, performing magical tricks for kings and telling fortunes. While good-natured at heart, he loved to play tricks and once turned an old hag into a rabbit to impress a crowd of children. When the spell was lifted the hag immediately cast a terrible curse on the young performer. Haunted by dark dreams and terrible visions, the once vivacious youth soon became moody and withdrawn. When a fellow fortune teller suggested that he fight his inner demons by joining the struggle against the evil Scourge, Aladaer tentatively agreed. Slowly gaining back his charm and confidence, the Entertainer uses his considerable magical talents to harrass his enemies and bolster his allies.

Aladaer performs for the target enemy hero, putting them in a trance where they can't move, attack, or cast spells, but are invulnerable to attacks as well. If the Entertainer successfully completes his act, he receives bonus money from the enemy hero.

  • Aladaer is channeling for the duration, if he completes the entire duration of the spell he receives bonus gold.
  • Enemy unit is essentially put to sleep, I just wouldn't want the "zzz" animation because an entertainer shouldn't be putting them to sleep, right?
  • If the enemy hero doesn't have enough gold, then Aladaer will receive the bonus gold and all remaining gold will be taken from enemy hero.

The Entertainer casts a curse on the target, giving them a horrifying countenance that will frighten all who approach the target. All units caught in the designated AoE around the target will be pushed away.

Aladaer loves to play tricks on friends and foes alike. Every once in a while, Aladaer will move a buff from an enemy unit to an ally, or a debuff on an ally unit to an enemy.

  • Buff/Debuff duration will be refreshed.


Last Laugh - (Active)

Aladaer puts a powerful curse on the target unit, where they will take damage over time for 7 seconds. Afterwards the curse will explode around the victim, dealing extra damage in the AoE depending on how many actions the enemy took over the duration of the curse.

Another Priest model hero suggestion. I like this hero concept, but I've struggled with balancing and finding skills that work together. I would love some reviews and also some answers to these questions:

1. I wanted a passive to synergize with his channeling skill. How likely is it that he will get focus fired while channeling perform? Should I change the passive to something that allows him to be tankier?

2. Do people like the skill Repulsion? I feel like you could do a lot of things with it..it can be a pseudo-disable if cast on a melee carry while synergizing with last laugh, it can be a protective skill, and it can be a positioning skill. Would it cause gameplay problems that I'm not seeing?

I don't have much time for a full review but some important things:

At first i wanna say that i miss some synergies on your hero, mby you can rework it a bit to get more synergies between the spells.

Your first spell is far to strong, you disable a hero for 4-7 seconds with a 17-14 seconds cooldown. Thats insane, you can take out the enemy Carry for a whole clash! On the other side i'm not sure if gold steal is codeable.

Looking at your second spell i miss the information how far they are pushed away. I think just out of the AOE, but it isn't clear. If it is just out of the AOE it seems balanced to me.

I like the idea of switching buffs/debuffs. I'm not sure if it is codeable and i'm also unsure about balancing on this spell, hard 2 say if it is balanced.

To your ultimate: At first i'm not sure what you understand under an action?? action = spell?? Can't tell you if it is balanced without knowing this, but the cooldown seems to be unbalanced anyway, compare it to heroes like Lion or Lina to balance it.

To the synergies: As a sample you could make the action in your ultimate to the way a hero moved. Each 100 a hero moves it will increase which would be a synergy with your second spells. Mby you have some better Ideas.

It would be great if you would also give me some feedback on my hero suggestion.

Yeah, I've been struggling with the synergies a bit as well. It's something I want to improve.

You are right that my first skill is a strong disable, but I'm thinking it's balanced out by the fact that it is channeling. By the way, Atropos has the same duration of sleep, deals damage, has a similar cooldown, and it is NOT channeling. But thanks for the comment, because it's good to truly realize how similar this skill is to Bane's..I like the idea of this skill but maybe I should go somewhere different. Oh and I don't see why stealing gold would be un-codeable..

For the second skill, yes it just pushes them out to the end of the AoE.

Pretty sure the third skill is codeable since it's in ladder with the Spell Breakers. I agree, I'm not sure about the balancing on this because there's nothing like it in Dota right now.

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure what "actions" would mean, but I've heard that it is possible to code and I would like to include. I take it to mean attacks and spells. Basically the spell would be really weak without disables, but the potential to be devastating if there are disables and enemies don't get out of the way. Looking at the cooldown, the ending cooldown isn't too bad, but I will nerf them all a bit, especially the first level of it.

Well the point is it's most effective when combined with disables, such as Perform (7 seconds at level 4!).

Still, I'm not happy with this suggestion at the moment. I think the basic concept is okay, but I need to rework everything a bit. Thanks for the feedback anyway, and I'll get started on revising him soon!
