What do you mean by back then? ZSMJ left DotA and got replaced by Sylar (ex-WE). If you go even further, with YYF, 830, ZSMJ, ch and ChuaN, then you can't really call it the same. The same also applies to really 'back then', with Gx, BeNz, 2009, KingJ or any other known LGD players.

well you can say that all the well known teams back then just became weaker as strong players form in to other strong teams..

Obviously you can't stay the best team forever, even if you keep the same players. So it might appear that they became 'weaker', but maybe they grew stronger but other teams just grew harder.
