Default Mark rune locations

I suggest that the rune spawn spots should be clearly marked so that it is easy to see where they are even when there are no runes on them. For example, this could be done by putting small islands in the river on the spawn spots.

The purpose of this suggestion is to make runes more accessible to new players. For expert players it would make very little difference because those players will have already memorised the spawn spots. DotA already has a steep learning curve, so I think it would be good to make things slightly easier for new players. I see this suggestion as an easy way to make things a little bit easier for new players without removing any depth from the game. I don't think that memorising arbitrary locations on the map is a valuable part of the gameplay, and I don't see any other reason not to mark the locations.

This isn't a big deal to me; but like I said, i can't think of any downsides, so I'm suggesting it here.

I almost suggested this a while back at DA. Here's the post I made back then, perhaps it helps:

Here you can see the different options I thought of:

Notes:
-The lava cracks and the red runes have an on/off animation
-The floating blue and multi colored runes have sparkles
-The red lava cracks are not on the picture, but they are exactly the same as the blue ones (except for the color duh)
-the crystal lamp can be scaled down so when a rune is there, it wouldn't block it

Not bad. As long as there is something that couldn't probably cause confusion with the actual runes, I don't see why we shouldn't do this.

Why don't just keep things easy? Just color the terrain at the runes position slightly. I would prefer that. Its imo better than some unfitting SFX...

Lol, I can imagine a new player looking at the rune spot marker and thinking it's a rune, especially the spot marker that was suggested above.

I like the idea, especially for a newb techies or brood trying to mine or net the rune spot.

This! Or raise the terrain a bit (suggested above).
