Default [BUFF/REMAKE/TWEAK/ETC/W.E] Ezalor


Ever since LoD/OMG dota came out ive been on a never-ending (if not horrendously intermittent) quest to make ezalor a half decent hero. so heres my latest (and possibly second) attempt to do so.

anyways, changes are in teal


Illuminate
Type: Active
Targeting: Point
Hotkey: T
Summons a ghostly spirit to channel a ball of positive energy, letting it build up 100 damage per second. When released, it damages all enemies in a line. The distance also improves with channeling time.

Notes:
  • Damage type: magical
  • Illuminate gives increasing vision of the target area as it is channeled.
  • Can damage Meat Wagons and Glaive Throwers.
  • Can hit units up to 1600 range away.
  • Ezalor no longer needs to channel Illuminate; it will be channeled by a secondary, ghostly spirit.
  • Once ultimate is learned, blinds all enemies it hits for up to 3 seconds based on level of illuminate and channeling time. (See ultimate for additional information)
  • Blinds for one-third the total blind percentage given by the ultimate.
Mana Leak
Type: Active
Targeting: Unit
Hotkey: E
Weakens the bond between the physical and magical essences of an enemy. The magical and physical essences will be divided if the target moves, causing the enemy to lose some of their mana. If the enemy loses all of its mana, it will be paralyzed while the bond is repaired.

Notes:
  • If the target travels over 300 distance in less than 0.1 second (by using blink skills, for example), Mana Leak will not decrease its mana for that distance.
  • Once ultimate is learned, an affected unit will be blinded for two seconds every second it loses mana from this skill. (See ultimate for additional information)
  • Blinds for one-half the total blind percentage given by the ultimate.
  • The 2 second blind every second mana is lost is NOT imba! Think about it, if you're losing mana, you're moving. In other words, you cant attack. so either make the blind duration 2+ seconds or it wont do anything.
Chakra Magic
Type: Active
Targeting: Unit
Hotkey: C
Channels chakras through a friendly unit, creating a surge of mana.

Keeper of the Light
Type: Passive
Targeting: N/A
Hotkey: F
Unlocks the skills, Flash of Light and Recall, which can be used at any time. In addition, his spells now blind opponents, causing them to miss on a large number of their attacks. Each spell blinds opponents in a different fashion.

Recall

Hotkey: R
Target an allied hero. Teleports that hero to your location. If the target takes player based damage during this period, this ability is interrupted.

  • This skill interrupts channeling spells.
  • Clicking this skill on the minimap will target the nearest allied hero.

Flash of Light

Damages nearby units and pushes them back.

please comment on anything and everything. typos matter as much to me as a balance problem.
let me know what you think about any aoes ive added, im always wary about aoes because i dont have an easy time visualizing them abstractly.

The Blind with ur ultimate is imbalanced, u can make nearly all of the enemies miss their attacks in combat. Tweak some numbers. A passive Ultimate for Ezalor? Im not sure but it's a good concept for me.

Holy shit these numbers are broken. I'm having a hard time even looking at the concept as it is now.

So lets see, channel illuminate for 1 sec then release and WALLA !! 3 seconds blind, mana leak the carry whose running to kill ur supports, another blind and give mana to ur carry or tank and here u go, another blind, use flash of light and guess what ? BLIND !! So basicly in a 30 sec team fight u will have atleast 2 - 3 of the enemy heroes INCLUDING the carry blinded for no less than 10 sec ? Sir you've just made kotl a team destroyer and I'm not ready for that so a huge t-down from me.

Fine, scale the blind on illuminate. Ez fix all aoe blinds are very small cept flash of light

The concept is fresh, however I don't agree with a few points:
-Illuminate being cast by a spirit all the time is imbalanced. As of now, the enemies' only early counter to illuminate is to look around and hide, but with this you can easily harass them unbeknownst to how the new illuminate always gets cast by the spirit, because Ezalor no longer needs to fog abuse himself.
-I don't see why Flash of Light should damage opponents. Its purpose as a skill lies elsewhere.

As for the whole blind thing, while it's a good overall concept, the way you use it might make things too overpowered. But I'm sure you can work around it.

The point is tho, kotl isnt going anywhere if hes sitting there channeling. No pun intended

I'm not sure about Chakra binding tho... It just seems contrived. I like the rest of the ideas though.
