Default [Tweak] Refresher Orb


Note: Just a small change to the Manacost,CD and Recipe Price.


Changelogs:

March 28, 2012
  • Made a nerf to CD to balance. (145 -> 175)
March 8, 2012
  • Added Changelog.
  • Improved the Templates and Its contents.
March 6, 2012
- Posted this on Suggestions -> Remakes
  • Reduced Recipe cost. (1875 -> 1575)
  • Reduced Mana Cost by 100 (375 -> 275)
  • Reduced Cooldown by 15 seconds. (160 -> 145)







Bonus:
  • +5 HP/sec regeneration
  • +200% mana regeneration
  • +40 damage
  • +6 Intelligence
  • Reset Cooldowns (active)
Recipe:
  • Oblivion Staff (1675)
  • Perseverance (1750)
  • Refresher Orb (1875)
  • Total Cost (5300)
Effect:

Reset Cooldowns
  • Resets the cooldowns of all your abilities and items
  • Costs 375 mana, and has a 160 second cooldown


Changes: Buffs are in Green, Nerfs are in Red

Pros
-More people will buy Refresher orb because of cheaper recipe
-Low manacost makes it useful for Strength type nukers/casters (ES,TC,etc.)

Cons
-A bit overpowered?

A buff may be necessary because as of right now some of the only heroes who get it are Zeus and Rhasta etc., maybe this will help I become more popular.

Not 100% on it yet but leaning towards Yes.

Refresher Orb is very useful for some heroes (like was pointed out: Zeus, Rhasta, and others) so if you boost it like you suggested it could be used by others, but Zeus and Rhasta would have refresher as a `must buy` then.
I realize it could be more used by other heroes, but simply giving this buff that works for EVERY hero would create problems.

The thing about Refresher is that certain parts of it are not relevant to it's concept.

+40 damage? What?

Heroes that typically buy this item (Treant, Magnus) need the manapool to cast their spells twice. This item doesn't give it.

That's why I reduced the Manacost from 375current to 275suggested.

The manacost doesn't matter. The thing is, the mana required for the hero's own skills is already too much for their manapool.

TDown. The Refresher is as good as it is. It doesn't give the same effect compared to other items. Guinsoo's for example gives a 3.5 second duration disable to enemies when wielded by any hero.Refresher gives Phantom Assassin a double Phantom Strike and a Double Strifling Dagger however, Refresher gives Doom a 3v5 Team Clash.

I didn't change much of the current, So I'm not quite sure what you're whining about.

It's still the same as it is, Only better.

Really tough item to balance, IceFrog would rather have it overpriced than underpriced.

I feel either the cooldown or mana cost should be reduced, but not both. Agree that the price should be a bit lower.

Tinker's Rearm that has 1 sec reset skill cd has a >300 manacost. And why this instant reset skill has only 275 manacost and cheaper price? This item will beat down Tinker, and Rearm will be useless...

I like the idea of making it cheaper, but essentially wasn't refresher supposed to be the "final" item? Reducing mana costs (not even considering cooldown) would make this item one of the extensions after core for some heroes, and further reducing cooldowns, means once every few teamfights I'll face 2 massive ulties? I don't think that's balanced at all...

The idea is good, but as mentioned before, i think the damage given by this item is wasted. It would be better if the oblivion staff was replaced by a ultimate orb.

Maybe they can make it "type agnostic" (just like aghanim's scepter). Right now, it's kinda geared towards INT heroes.

True it is skewed towards Int heroes, I believe it is more situational than belonging to any one attribute type. The fact that it has the +40 dmg is kinda of making it more agnostic atm anyway.

I just don't think that this late game item should suit every hero. Yes widen the usage (as OP encourages), but making it a viable option for the majority of the heroes (as above post implies) seems unneeded.

LOVE THIS! the mana cost is lame as hell. It prevents non-int heroes from using it. I bought it on Jugg one time and Doom the other. Both times i cant cast double cast because i run out of mana. And i had a full pool of mana. But maybe that's the point. Maybe you're not meant to double cast omnislash without stocking up mana pool like a douche?

Is it also in Dota2 not possible to have this item have a different cooldown depending on the skills it can refresh?
The suggestion did come up often in the past and as i recall it, you just couldnt code it in Wc3. But can The cooldown of refresher not just be something along 2,5 - 3 times the cooldown of the skill with the highest cooldown (Would have to account for items or not work on item though i guess?).

So for instance if Earthshaker buys it he could have an double ultimate every 330 seconds. While a hero like Bloodseeker could then rapture two enemies every 150 seconds.

Thumbs up! Oh... it is also missing the +10 AS from Oblivion staff. However the damage can be reduce to +25 which is equivalent to the sum of it's components. Most heroes that needs refresher does not need the damage.

Refresh Orb is very situacional item, there are few heroes able to buy it, could be more useful if manocost was lower, mainly non-INT heroes like Tauren Chieftain, Dark Seer*, Purist, Treant, Und

I don't know if is overpower, indead, this item need a buff

This actualy makes sence. Sometimes i find refresher useless for most nukers, only because of it's huuuuuge manacost. T-UP, but it needs some more work.
