50 (2000 gold)
50 + Dmg for 2000 gold? it would make it one of the best weapons in the game.... I think thats far to much, sorry. T-Down, If you think about it, 3800 for 60 damage and 2000 for 50 damage. Having it not upgradable to anything else doesn't really prove anything, also you don't need maths to it.... just think about balance and use it from that.

I think it's cool..
Some ideas: Make it cost less gold. Make each charge give 4 more damage, so it's 2000 or less gold for 40 damage. Make it a unique item (I mean 'You can carry only one shadow orb'.

concept: 6/10. OK, but I guess we can just buy blades/claymore/mitril/... right? It has upgrades.
numbers: 7/10. Too overpowered. If you observe blades/mitril/... gives 1.5 x (price/100). (except sacred relic) But I also consider the fact that the shadow orb can't be upgraded to bfury/radiance/... Cosmetics: 9/10. Synergy, no MSI. Very good. Overall: 7,3/10. Just lower the numbers and make something from shadow orb, and it's good already.

i really like this item. but adjust the numbers to
upgrade dmg 1 - 4 2 - 8 3 - 12 4 - 16 5 - 20 6 - 24 7 - 28 8 - 32 9 - 36 10 - 40 and increase the coldcost to 210 as comparision: mithril hammer 24dmg 1600g orb 24dmg 1260g demon edge 36fmg 2400g orb 36 dmg 1890g but since orb has no further upgrade possibilities it would be somehow balanced |

This item wouldn't be powerful late game - it would be powerful early game.
I'm on the rocks. It's an interesting concept, but the fact that the item doesn't really go anywhere makes me question how practical it actually is. Unless you can upgrade it at a Secret Shop (Goblins, probably), then it's *extremely* impractical. Cheap though it is, pouring resources into a single 50 damage item results in having fewer essential items that can match the effect and provide other bonuses. Again, neat in concept, but I don't see how much use it would actually have in game. |

T-up actually. an early game damage boost is a very needed item. Back on DA the Excalipoor was a potential item with only +4 damage at a cost of 50-100 gold. Weaver and other early game harassers need something like this as a buff.

Changed how it works
Now it gives constant +4 dmg but with additional boost as goes up

T-up, I actually like this very much.
Upgradeable 9 times right? So does that mean When you first buy it, it's level 1 with +4 damage? So in the end it would give +40 damage. But anyway doesnt sound imba at all, the numbers are right I believe. Only Question is, where can it be bought? Not too sure about the name though, sounds very typical and doesn't really relate to the item itself. |

From the basic shop. I think from sena this will be.
For name, this name is in original warcraft with similar concept...

It gives you +40 damage, +4 Armor, and 20% bonus AS for 2100 gold. Okay, so overall it gives you quiet a bit. But we have to take into account these few facts: - It can only be bought from base - You would most likely buy this item bit by bit, not completely in bulk. - After Lvl 10, it is no longer uprgadable and cannot be used to create another item. - It gives you purely damage to begin with, damage itself does not increase any other stat. Now, if we were playing an -rd game. You would start with 603 gold i think it was, so thus, you would only be able to afford two Orbs at this point, this will give you +8 damage only so far. Not that imba imo. The only thing I'm worried about is How Drow or Luna would do with this item, as they have passive damage buffs. The numbers for this item aren't too bad, but to make it more balanced, it should be a tad more expensive, perhaps 250 gold. So in total, 2500 gold for +40 damage, in comparison to Relic or Demon edge, its pretty high, but not being upgradable makes up for it. |

T-up, I love this idea. The numbers can use some tweaking, 2500g for 40dmg sounds pretty good to me.
As far as the naming goes, instead of Shadow Orb, maybe name the item itself "Glowing shard" and the completed item(10 upgrades) "Paragon" or something like that. Paragon being a body of excellence. Then maybe for some late game power, combine it w/ an ultimate orb, to make ultimate paragon? ![]() Just speculating here. |

hey guys, Do u know why this item is too Imba?? coz of its accumulation of COST..
u spend little, little,...and little. >>>>>It's much easier than saving a large sum of gold for an expensive damage item..<<<<< AND: this item gives damage, armor and IAS, omg >"< Demon Edge: 36 dam ~ 2400 gold --> 66.67 gold/dam Mithril Hammer: 24 dam ~ 1600 gold --> 66.67 gold/dam Plate Mail: 10 Armor ~ 1400 gold --> 140 gold/armor Chain Mail: 5 Armor ~ 550 gold --> 110 gold/armor Hyper Stone:+55% IAS ~ 2100 gold --> 38.18 gold/IAS Glove of Haste: +15% IAS ~ 500 gold --> 33.33 gold/IAS The Shadow Orb: 40 dam, 4 Armor, 20 IAS The so-called balanced item would cost: 3990 gold at the most expensive..and 3773 gold at the cheapest..!! if based on the per gold standard of other items above :| the author's price is 2100 gold +_+

Increased the price to 250 gold.
Please remember that this item is upgrading and it can't be used as recipe. For comparison : Blade of Attack (500gold) => +9 dmg This => Half price => +4 dmg. Don't compare this to other expensive item. Their expensive because it's recipe item is good not by themselves. Also recipe item >>> basic item Compare wraith band with boots of elven skin. Almost same price but double effect.

Also by the way, add +5 AS more at level 9. And still can you make the cost 300? I mean, now the game goes shorter. I usually can only by demon edge and can't finish into Buriza :P
