Post [Animation] Spectre Haunt


Right now, Spectre's Haunting images fade in standing, i know there is nothing wrong with it but there is room for some animation.

I suggest this animation where the image appears beside the hero, facing the direct opposite of it and turns towards the hero while playing the attack animation. (See the test map)

I think that its best that the image appear beside the hero than INSIDE the hero like it does now but either way still works.

This is just animation in the 1 second while the images are fading in so it would not affect the gameplay.

EDITED: Updated the test map with illusions rising from the ground as suggested by Foede below and added an effect.

Effects are already in game so no MSI

Good idea, we need to add something and make use of that wasted second.

Your idea made me think of another one. Why not make the illusion appear from the ground, as if the Spectre's illusion came from the enemy's own shadow? We spawn the illusion animation right under the target hero, and we use triggered movement to make it go up to the same level as the target hero. It should take it 1 second to go all the way up, and then it starts attacking as usual.

t-up... for functionality

but for the Haunt feel, add an extra second for the image fading time, and make it appear that Merc's images appear from inside the hero... as if unleashing their "evil self" )

Nice concept, but it needs some improvement. Current animation is very boring. They just pop-up and stand there.

This would be awesome, really great idea

But this suggestion is actually pretty good as well, the current animation looks rather boring and not that attractive, so imo it definitely needs an improvement.
