Okay so it all revolves around the Steam activated key and it's name. It's called Dota 2 Retail (SE Asia). If anyone has ever bought some Humble Bundle's for Steam and looked at his Steam account's license & subscriptions you can see that those are also listed as retail games (for example Frozen Synapse Humble Indie Bundle Retail). I mean, you bought the game online but it's still listed as retail.

All of the games I have squared out are either activated through the keys of IndieRoyale or Humble Indie Bundle's. All of them contain the word 'Retail'. But they are retail games.

I failed to see a line where it states 'Gaben confirmes Dota 2 is free-to-play'. Confirmed my ass. I think the site is just trying to get more hits.

I know everything is hinting that it's going to be F2P but nothing is confirmed yet, I only believe it when Gabe or IceFrog says it.

I wouldn't be worries about matchmaking. Valve will probably only put people who have a similar number of won games together. So once you've won 20 games, you probably won't be playing with noobs.

F2P Translation: Really expensive to play.

Take a look at HoN and see what it would cost to buy each hero. Last time I saw it was over $200. Oh yeah, you can play 50 games to unlock one hero. So 5000 games to unlock them all, GLHF playing for 5 years to unlock everything.

Unfortunately F2P will lead to a more successful game than P2P as far as Valve is concerned, so I dont think there is any stopping it. Its evident enough how popular LoL is, and how HoN went F2P after getting raped by LoLs numbers. HoN doubled there players by going F2P.

Not too surprising though disapointing. It's amazing how many people buy into f2p not realizing nothing is free. I cant blame valve its certainly more enterprising simply because the community is dumb enough to go for it. Hmm I play Veno better then everyone else according to the poll but hes no longer available in hero selection unless I buy him to keep him permanately. If that ever happens the hell with this game.
