To solve this, during the periodic check, the life and mana reductions/incrementations of the Spirit will be added to the life and mana reductions/incrementations of the body then the sum will be added to the states of both.

With regards to the stats, the status buffs (non-existent in the body) of the spirit will be added to the body then the status buffs (non-existent in the spirit) of the body will be added to the spirit.

While in this state, the body does absolutely NOTHING but stay idle. It can receive damage and effects though if it is within range. For example:

• Carrion Swarm can hit both the spirit and the body if both are in range effectively damaging Verus twice.
• Purification can heal Verus twice if the body and the spirit are close together.
• Similar to Carrion Swarm, Sonic Wave can also hit twice.
• If the body is within range, Condensation can let you receive heal and mana recovery twice (one for each).
• If both the body and the spirit are in Exertion status and the spirit casts a spell, that effectively gives them 2 charges (since both lose mana along with each other whenever the other casts a spell but they share most statuses.)

In summary, Astral Split can let Verus receive things twice if the body is in range. The body DOES NOT duplicate spells, but it receives effects as well along with the spirit.

• Clarified Global Effects for Astral Split:
Global effects while in this status can be quite complicated. First off, the global ability should be classified.

• Things like Zeus' Thundergod's Wrath and Spectre's Haunt will only affect the ethereal unit
• Furion's Wrath of Nature on the other hand can hit both if probability dictates.

This means that if the global spell automatically targets a hero, only the ethereal is chosen, otherwise, both can be hit.

Since Astral Split makes you two separate entities assuming a similar state, it's possible to be affected more than once by an ability if called by the situation. For example, Carrion Swarm can hit you twice if both the body and ethereal form is in range (one for each). Similarly, this makes this ability have a great synergy with Condensation because it allows you to be healed/given mana TWICE instead of only once.

• Changed Exertion from single targeted to Area Targeted (200/300/400/500).
• Increased gain from Condensation (from 80/130/180 to 100/150/200).
• Updated the item synergies section. I will be finishing the synergy section probably later this day.

Summon the White Sage

When the gods of the Old World descended from the heavens to imbue Verus with their coveted understanding of body and mind, they also burdened him with a lifelong task: keeping the feuding Life-Energies in stasis. His stoic determination to defend this equilibrium of energy is matched only by his tenfold hatred for enemies who would disrupt the balance. Known to friends and foes alike as a master manipulator, he can unravel the threads of the connection between the body and mind turning his enemies power into their weakness. His presence on the battlefield is a beacon of hope for the Sentinel and an omen of defeat for the Scourge. Story by Crazy Sheep bimjowen and Cerealmaniac



Verus is one of the most versatile support heroes, being able to play mindgames as well as being able to change the outcome of a battle by successfully strengthening or weakening the life and mana pools of many allies and enemies at once. Astral Split serves as a good survival tool, which reduces incoming damage and can as well be used to quickly escape from battles if the situation is getting too dangerous, but it can be used as well for chasing, you can even chase enemy heroes under towers with this. But his true power lies within the combo of his 3 other skills. Psyche Discord's Manaburn triggers Spirit Reverberation, which deals damage around the unit who lost mana and can potentially lead to large aoe damage. On the one hand, Condensation's subskill Indulge is risky, as it costs you HP, but the aoe MP loss of enemies can trigger Spirit Reverberation a lot of times and it triggers as well the secondary effect of Psyche Discord, stunning the enemies. At the same time it recovers your and your allies MP. On the other hand, its other subskill Rekindle costs you MP, but at the same time effectively damages your enemies and recovers the life force of yourself and allies. The spammability of the Ult, his signature skill, allows him to stay longer in combat and make comebacks. Enemies who brought you to low HP cant be sure to kill you, as the situation can quickly turn around.

ASTRAL SPLIT


Description: The White Sage projects himself out of his body to a location, gaining damage reduction and higher movement speed and leaving the body idle and uncontrollable while he is in spirit form. The body and spirit always have equal life and mana. Stunning or silencing the body or moving too far away from the body cancels Astral Split.
Duration: 13
Skill Type: Active, Location Target
Casting Range: 400

Level 1 - 30 additional MS, 10% damage reduction
Level 2 - 60 additional MS, 20% damage reduction

Framework:
• When used, caster gains 0 collision, additional movement speed, additional damage reduction.
• It then does a pseudo blink to targeted location in front of it.
• A similar unit (body) is summoned in the location prior pseudo leap; it will always have the same stats and state as the original but is uncontrollable (stays idle on the location). If mode is cancelled, the spirit is automatically transported back to the location of the body.
• Max range between Verus and body is 2400
• Stunning or Silencing the body cancels this effect.
This skill is replaced by ability Reenter while in Astral Split mode.

Premise:
• The “body” stays at the point of activation.
• Verus gains additional movement speed, damage reduction and 0 collision size.
• When one dies, the other dies as well.


Limitations:
• The “body” and Verus will always have the same state at all times (life, mana except the effects induced by this state; e.g. additional MS, damage reduction).
• If Verus goes beyond 2400 range from the body, the state is cancelled.
• When the duration is finished, the state is cancelled, and Verus replaces the “body.”
• When the body is stunned or silenced, the status is cancelled.

Description: The White Sage's aura causes the spirit of all nearby units, enemies and allies alike, including his, to reverberate and react, causing all enemies near them to be damaged, whenever they experience mana loss.

Level 1 - Deals 11% of mana lost
Level 2 - Deals 14% of mana lost
Level 3 - Deals 17% of mana lost
Level 4 - Deals 20% of mana lost
Framework:
• Whenever a unit within an 800AoE around Verus loses mana, a percentage of the mana lost is dealt in damage to everything within a 500AoE around that enemy.
• Can be triggered by both enemies and allies.

• The unit who triggers this will not be damaged.

Astral Split serves as a great casting range extension for Psyche Discord. They complement each other especially when chasing.


Astral Split and Spirit Reverberation
Astral Split doubles the damage dealt by Spirit Reverberation's aura. So if the unit in question is near both the spirit and the body, it gets double damage. More so, whenever Verus casts a spell, the Astral Split also loses mana, allowing up to 4x Spirit Reverberation damage.


Astral Split and Indulge
Using Indulge beside the Astral Split body doubles the effect of Indulge because both the body and the spirit recover mana at the same time.


Astral Split and Rekindle
Using Rekindle beside the Astral Split body doubles the effect of Rekindle because both the body and the spirit recover life at the same time.


Psyche Discord and Psyche Discord
Psyche Discord triggers itself.


Psyche Discord and Spirit Reverberation
Sprit Reverberation makes Psyche Discord deal some damage in an AoE because of Psyche Discord's mana reduction and mana cost.

Don't you think his ult's aoe should be larger? Maybe 500 or so.

Thanks for your reviews. The hero's Ultimate is kind of strong so increasing the AoE might raise people's brows, so I decided to make it limited as of the moment just until people start to actually suggest improving the ability.

That's true about his ultimate, but you should remember that he has low HP from strength and he'll probably never be at full HP due to his first skill. I'd like to see him in a future version though.

He will still heal, so increasing the AoE is unnecessary if that* is what you're talking about.

This is a pretty well thought out hero. There are relatively few sacrifice effects in the game so the first skill and the ulti are well done. For a hero inspired by the Scholar, I am surprised you didn't not use his strongest skill, Magnetic Earth/Land Protector. Just my two cents though. Maybe it belong on another character.

Also I am not a fan of the model. I'd recommend using the Bandit Mage.

Actually, in the process of forming this suggestion, Land Protector never came into play. Though it will be very useful in the current metagame, I thought it offered few to no synergy at all and it will not serve any purpose to what I want to arrive at.

Originally, I planned a Mana Sunder type of spammable Ultimate (Soul Exhale / Soul Change) but it either turned out imbalanced and unbalanceable or uninteresting overall.

With regards to the model, I can't find any that will actually fit the theme, and I thought this one would at least be not too bad of a choice; better choose the lesse evil right?

LP actually offers more synergy than you'd believe. In DotA, it would be built more like a super-silence. What I mean is when a hero casts a spell, the spell has no effect but the mana and cooldown are still activated. This would work if a spell is cast onto the area or if a spell is cast by someone in the area. This synergies well with the amount of mana control employed by this hero, further controlling enemy mana pools. Just my take on the spell however.

We already have a mana sunder on KotL so it is unnecessary to have another.

General Hero Idea: Nice hero idea.

Skill 1: Pretty good skill, i like the effects, but i dont know if the damage isnt too much, i personally would prefer the skill without damage, or atleast with something other than damage. Very good skill anyways

Skill 2: Some minor similarities with Obsidians Arcane Orb, but not too much. Moreover, this skill has a cool effect with the stun trigger.
7/10

Skill 3: Very good skill.
8/10

Ult: A simple healing skill, which also deals damage. Its not that great imo, but its good and original.

Synergies: All your skills deal damage, which doesnt really synergize with each other, you could vary a bit more in this thing. Furthermore, the Ult and the first skill have just reversed effects, they are pretty much the same, both deal damage, both reduce either Mana/HP and restore HP/Mana. Id change one of these two skills, they are too similar.

Gameplay: Nice hero with a new gameplay, i like it overall.

Stats: Too low STR imo, you should rise it to at least 15/16.

• Changed AoE from 350 to 500.
• Removed the damage part for Indulge.
