Complete the Hero 22

Hello and welcome to the Complete the Hero 22 contest. The time is flying, doesn't it? The Dota2 Beta is in progress and every week new heroes are added. But with all that innovations, we should not forget what game made DotA popular. As you all know, Warcraft 3 was and still is the platform for our beloved game since ages and with this edition of the CTH contest I want to honor it. Maybe we will soon create heroes for Dota2 in a CTH, but this time, we look back into the past, getting inspried by the tales of the Opening of the Dark Portal, the Battle for Mount Hyjal,the demise of the Lich King or even the Cataclysm.

The question is, are you good enough to make your hero a true Legend of Azeroth?

The Prize

In addition to the usual winning banner and the acknowledgement of the suggestion forum, the winner will recieve an invitation to the Dota2 Beta.

Eligibility

Contestants:

• No post count or previous hero making experience required.
• Contestants have to submit the link of the entry that has complete hero suggestion via PM to the host. The host will decide from submitted entry if contestant is fit to participate. Note that the hero idea has to be original and preferably formatted.

Judges:

• Requires previous hero suggestion review or CTH judge experience..
• Judge have to submit the link to a hero suggestion and the link to his review or submit the link of CTH judged before. The host will decide from submitted PM if judge is fit to become a judge.
• The host reserves the right to accept or decline the member as a judge.

The first phase of this competition will involve creation of your hero to be judged in phase II. All contestants should finish their hero at the end of this phase or the entry will be disqualified.

Please keep modifying the first post that you make about your entry. Further posts will not be considered for judging and voting unless you PM the host about it before the phase II.

In this phase, judge starts to judge all the entries. Contestants and outsiders may vote for your favorite hero. You can vote for only three best entry in the contest. Please give the rank between them or the voting will not be accepted.

• You must vote privately via PM to the host, and cannot discuss your votes inside the thread. Do not attempt to contact any other member regarding their vote.
• Contestants can't vote for their own hero suggestion. If we spotted any illegal ways to vote for own suggestion (such as multiple ID), they will be disqualified.

I love the contest challenge of this round so much! Of course it is someting i take to heart when i design heroes for the community, but to actually have a whole contest round dedicated to it is just fantastic!

Might be a stupid question but; So at the first description it says the first phase will be over at 6th of march, which is in four days. But later on all the other parts of the contest post it says the 6th of may, I suppose it is may we are talking about?

Also: Are we allowed to create a hero out of models that already do exist in dota, or purely characters who aren't yet in dota?

Woops, of course May, fixing it.

Also, you could theoretically use already used models, at least I won't give you penalities.
But unused or even custom models would be more fitting for a hero creation contest.

Nearly done with mine, taking Thassarian. Tought about using the Lich King at first, but then I figured it would be nice for the Sentinel to have a Death-themed hero.

'Just' a named NPC, no.
A NPC, that you meet at many places and that for example, always wants you to deal with about the same problem, yes (for example, Chromie).

Boss from a dungeon, maybe. He has to be connected with the storyline.
For example, I would allow Loken from the Stormpeaks (endboss, Halls of Lightning), but noone else from that dungeon.
I would allow Teron Gorefiend and Illidan Stormrage from the Black Temple, but the others are not that important, imo (except maybe Warlord Naj'entus and Mother Sharaz, because they are iconic figures for their respective models).

If you are in doubt, just ask for the character and I can say if he's allowed or not.
