Default [ITEM] Stygian Annihilator



Stygian Annihilator

A wicked bow used to torture and decimate entire armies

REQUIREMENTS:


+
=


COST:7700

OLD STATISTICS:

+25 Agility
+60 Damage
Corruption (reduces armor by 6 for 5 seconds, orb effect)


NEW STATISTICS:

+30 Agility
+60 Damage
Greater Corruption


Greater Corruption:
- causes attacks to place a buff that reduces armor by 6 initially
- each additional attack further reduces armor by 1, cap of -12 total
- buff lasts 4 seconds, each attack refreshes the counter
- if timer is not refreshed, original armor is restored
- orb effect
- can be disassembled

CHANGELOG:

- removed exploding -armor effect
- decreased initial decrease by 1
- restored original status
- increased diminishing armor effect by .5
- removed cap after a lot of thought
15 October 2009
- added cap again of -12 armor total

- reduced diminishing armor effect by .5

- reduced duration of by by 2 seconds
8 November 2009
- added disassemble feature

Err... No CAP for armor reduction? Its imbalanced. Better give a cap for the armor reduction. Anyways I like the concept.

I made this item for a few reasons:

1) it gives eaglehorn another use besides butterfly and more importantly makes it of equal recipe use to reaver (HoT, Satanic) and the mystic staff (guinsoo, shiva's)
2) well, yeah, its 100 damage for an agility hero but 7700 isn't cheap as you put it, besides, it only adds a measely 15 damage but further discussion about this may warrant its change

Well, yeah it has no cap.
1) To achieve a high -armor buff, you need to keep on target and at the same time not get stunned/disabled (which would be difficult since being an agi carry wielding this would scream "KILL ME" to the enemy)
2) The opponent can flee its effects
3) Its pricey.

And compare for a perspective: with Desolator
-Slardar can reduce armor by 21 (26 with an AC)
-Nevermore can reduce armor by 11 (16 with an AC)
-Dazzle can reduce by 30 (35 with an AC)

But then again, I may change this after more discussion has warranted it

I've been thinking that if no caps were given, what will happen if Alleria use it and used ulti against a Hero with BKB + Windrunner acitvated? It's able to reach -30 armor and more.....

Still, Alleria won't be able to get it that easily since she's fragile and she's not an AGI hero.

Yes, i do agree that perhaps getting it on Alleria would be extremely scary for the enemy, its too situational anyway to be of great concern Besides, she still has that initial damage reduction from her ultimate. And to be really effective, you need to get more expensive items like BKB (like you said) and Agh's -- both of which are expensive too.

And with how damage reduction works, you'd be getting diminishing returns, therefore, you'll eventually get to a point anyway where decreasing armor more and more will amplify less and less damage.

Well.. imagine a Rikimaru with Stygian Annihilator, Butterfly and Assault Cuirass.. Late Game of course. He'll become overpowered with the greater corruption + backstab + negative armor aura + high IAS. I dunno if it's good to put this in game as it's a expensive/late item and some agi heroes become very powerful without this. But the concept is good. So Harass.. :P

Rikimaru with Bfly & AC & Boots & Bands is already imbalanced to the point where it doesn't really matter anymore if you get more items.

And you do realise that those 3 items alone cost over 19,000 gold?

Concept very T-up, numbers t-down.

Imagine slardar(jesus god no) with one of these. With how easy he can tag somebody and single them out, synnergize with vlads, slard becomes even more unkillable when fed. It really needs a cap. Maybe a cap of 5 stacks, so a total of -15 armor on the item at max?

Also the thought of meepo with this scares me, but then again a good Meepo is scary regardless.

I don't really know if this item is more imbalanced than the current int treads, 16 int for 900 gold is just... Balls...

I do not know if its stronger than Divine. But yeah, it is more expensive by 1500 gold.

Hmmm, I can't decide (and just to put it out there):

7700 gold
30 +IAS
4.29 armor
70 damage (100 for agi)
Orb (Greater Corruption)

vs.

6200 gold
250 damage
drops upon death liability

I hope you based an assessment on the concept and not the numbers at least.

Remember:
1) As you said, it can't be easily assembled. It therefore requires a lot of farming. Its a late game item indeed, don't complain! Do as before and put down late game heroes before they get riced. If the enemy team let's your Rikimaru, Medusa, or Razor get this, then they probably deserve to really lose.
2) Why complain that this fits perfectly as a late game agi item? I designed it specifically to be such. I want it to have the whole "bloody god-damned late game agility carry massacre item" theme. It also fits perfectly in the current trend that physical DPSers are coming back to DotA.
3) It also means Stygian will now be bought more often than before, as well as Eaglehorn (which will again have 2 recipe trees like Reaver and Mystic)

Maybe replace eaglehorn with hyperstone and it'll be fine..
OH BUT THEN WE ONLY GOT A RECIPE WITH EAGLEHORN!!
so eaglehorn is fine...
make a cap and reduce the total cost to 7000..
nerf the damage to 60 and AGI to 25
BUT
cap isn't really needed
wtf coz there's already cap about -20 armour (after that armour will still decreased but the damage reduction not)means about 70% max DPS increase with armour reduction...make me laugh when see lvl 16 slardar wield a stygian and AC)

but good concept..t-up..
