I think the ability is far too good. The numbers can certainly be tweaked but your talking about a variant of N'aix's damage that doesn't get weaker as the opponent's hp drops. I would make it based off of current hp and rebalance numbers as needed, but a chance max hp effect is just crazy.
The cool thing is that an item like this might be enough to actually change the metagame significantly as it goes a long way towards making tankiness ineffective. An item based on current hp would also have that effect but it wouldn't be nearly as radical.

Thanks for the input, I was considering making an item based off of current HP instead. But I considered the numbers:
If say the Critical Strike were sustained, the effect would be: .1*70 damage(70 for agility heroes since 30+40)*1.75 or a linear increase of 12.25 damage, or 10% to do 122.5 damage. Now would Soul Slay: an enemy with: 1000 HP would receive 15 additional linear damage or 15% for 100 1500 HP would receive 22.5 additional linear damage or 15% for 150 2000 HP would receive 30 additional linear damage or 15% for 200 2500 HP would receive 37.5 additional linear damage or 15% for 250 3000 Hp would receive 45 additional linear damage or 15% for 300 Also consider how: MKB deals additional 35 linear damage or 35% to deal 100 Buriza deals additional 36 linear damage or 20% to deal 180 My item certainly is not that OP. Heck, if you compare it to Buriza and MKB, its additional damage is currently weaker so far. It only becomes stronger than MKB or Buriza if the target's HP is above 2500. EDIT: I already buffed it to 20% for 10% of HP so the above calculations are wrong.

Thank you for the query, I'll keep the bonus damage dealt as physical. Because magic damage would be weird and pure damage would be imba perhaps
I'm adding the info now to the main post. And yes, it is stackable in the sense that whenever it procs, the same bonus damage based on maximum HP is dealt.

I'm not saying the numbers are too high. I mean, this is a seriously expensive item and it gives a skill that procs only 15% of the time. I mean Buriza has a similar cost and buffs your total damage by 28% (in addition to the straight + damage). 7% of their max hp would have to be nearly 2 times your total damage for this to give as strong a boost (ie - they would need insane hp).
There's no real reason to make this a chance-based effect. I would just do it as a %age of current hp every hit. Like N'aix's. Or, it might be kind of cool to have it be a very low probability like 1% but have it take out a huge chunk. In this case, you wouldn't try for equal balance with other items in terms of doing the same amount of DPS because having it happen all at once can be super-beneficial. But I think the on-every-attack path is probably better.

oh man this is so off-topic ^^ on-topic i like the idea of your item. the perma damage amplifier is great and can be used the whole game, because it scales great till late-lategame. nice concept. |

Well, concept is good. But, soulslay was too powerful. It deal very much dmg.
Example average hero at least has 1200 hp which mean deal 120 dmg when soulslayer triggered. Using current hp is balance for me.

Well yeah, but if you are able to get a 6000-gold worth item and an enemy has 1200 HP, he'd really be in trouble. Besides, the same hero would receive the same 35% 100 bonus damage from MKB or the same 180 bonus damage from Buriza, now, no one's calling them imbalanced anyway. In fact, they are much stronger than the Soulslayer if the enemy has 1200 HP.

i dont know why are you all talkin bullshit, take a piece of papper and do the math. its not imba its poor and nerfed. 10%max is nothing
buriza does x2,4dmg so if you have 200 dmg, normal mid game you will do 480 pure dmg! and with this weapon you do 200 original dmg + bonus 200(kentaur lvl11=2000hp) = 400 phisical dmg??? whats the problem? |
