Seriously, I have my own iMac 27" (work) and next to it my Gaming PC but I can't understand why the hate towards Apple. I'm pretty sure that fuckers who rage at MAC are just jelly of not having one... admit it. Plus I love when people rage at Apple and then you see them with a fucking iPhone and iPod... every time I see one of these I just want punch them for being so fucking ignorant. Anyhow to the OP, just put BOOTCAMP and you are ready to go. I know quite a few people that use BOOTCAMP and works great.

Now that I finished laughing I can respond to this post
Why would I be jealous of an overpirced piece of aluminium that can't even play games?

so many trolls. i have never seen something so stupidly polarizing as the pc vs mac debate. they are different machines designed to do different things. get over yourselves. If I use my mac to do code on, but I also want it to play Dota2, why shouldnt it?

The answer is, it should be able to, and developers should develop for all three platforms (never forget our friend, Linux), since they are all used by different folks.

that number was def pulled out of my butt. but at many universities in the USA mac has easily that much market share, and I see the primary audience of Dota being the semi-hardcore college-age player. Thus I used that number.

Conclusion:
Mac for work
PC for gaming
Dota2 is a game
?????

Beside, Valve will port Dota2 on Mac. It's only the matter of time.

i work for the helpdesk at my university and we are phasing out pcs. The plan is by 2014 to have all Mac everything. So yes, I do use a Mac for work, and I'd really like to be able to use it for play as well.

AKA your university likes to throw away money
there is no real reason to chose a mac over a PC except for looking cool

actually it's because professors want their ipads and iphones to sync to their computer and be able to take these small portables to the classroom, present on their portables, Tweak the data, then return it to the workstation and have it all work together flawlessly with no trouble.

Try doing that with any PC equivalents. It's a bitch and a half.

Nope. Not at the moment, you can try using Wine or Bootcamp. I heard it works.

Bootcamp is simply a partition of your HDD. idk why anyone thinks it's such a big deal. Any half-wit user should be able to partition your harddrive

Like?
Photoshop for pictures/textures, Maya for modelling/animating, Sony vegas/Adobe after effects for video creating/editing

So paying twice as much for a computer with the same specs is OK because you don't have to manually synch data with your phone any more

paying big $$ for a phone that does more than just call people when you could just buy a computer.
"logic = none"

sentry, i dont think you understand the level of computer expertise college professors not in Computer Science possess. Literally none. We often have to manually change passwords because they are so geriatric they forgot that they changed them. They unplug printers during a firmware update because they need to print something and if they reboot it it will help it move faster.

Mac puts the training wheels on for these people, and makes it so they cannot possibly fuck it up. Therefore saving people in IT time and time=money.

also, standardization certainly helps educate your user base.

They are an investment, but a worthy one.

Do you get that bug on mac http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31071 ? Lots of us have it on linux, making the game unplayable because of Luna.

I think it's more because most apple users people see are those stupid fanboys that makes every apple user looks like a complete brainwashed stupid fanboy unable to objectively compare two products, especially when apple clearly fuck its clients.
