Default Pushing makes the game a push over.

TL;DR. Seriously, too much pushing, can it be solved?

When a hero/heroes proves to be too popular, everyone picks it/them, obtains success without much effort, it's considered, OP or imba.

People have figured out the same thing with gameplay.
It's way easier to just push the enemy to death, and they'll still end up losing no matter how powerful the carry has become, s/he just can't be in 3 places at once.

Actually disliked the carry meta, and liked pushing strats, but this is just ridiculous.

Not suggesting, but wondering, wouldn't it be better if instead of a few strong towers, there instead be a multitude of weaker towers, like in Demigod?
If there were more buildings/towers, it might dampen the excessive pushing.
Pushing would/could still be effective, but not as heavy as it is now.

the good part is that games rarely go beyond 40min or even past 60min anymore.

IceFrog should change it to ganking meta and leave it there. Provides for much more interesting games.

Yes, yes I do.
And that's all fine an' dandy, but pushing should be a VIABLE strategy, not the overshadowing one.

Sure sure, you might say, ''Well, just wait for the pushing meta to pass''.
And I'm hoping it'll happen, but currently, looks like it won't any time soon.

And instead of nerfing pusher heroes, rather add more buildings/towers.
It'll improve the game, since then there could actually be more anti-building skills.

I'm assuming you're talking at Dota 2 right?

1. Wait for all the heroes to be implemented. Dota 2 is not DotA yet.
2. EarthShaker and Death Prophet are very good turtling heroes. Did you see Na'Vi lose three games in a row to Death Prophet when they were picking pushing teams?

Some online friends and I abused the crap out of the push strat last night for some hilarity. 25 min win and 20 min win. You really can't beat it. I played sylla in one and didn't even bother ganking or chasing. Just right clicked on tower, then right clicked on rax, then right clicked on ancient. You couldn't pick a lamer or more boring strat if you tried.

That said, I still prefer a 20 minute game over a 90 minute game.

Picking comps and counter comps is part of the overall strat. If the other team chooses a push strat try and counter their picks for winning team fights, stopping their push.

I stopped playing lol and went to this exclusively because in my exp it's much more common and easier for a comeback. If the other team is pushing hard, push hard back. Overall it comes down to who wins that final team fight.

Dude, that's is just a trend, don't worry (turtle meta and gank meta docet).

The problem is that towers bathe you in gold when you drop them, so the team with the pushing uphand usually has a gold advantage of around 2k, which is kinda broken since they're clearly also kicking butt and taking names, and they tend to have the upper hand early in picks.
If you want to nerf pushstrats without meddling too much, you have to either somehow make pushing heroes weaker early or simply nerf the gold gain from towers.
But then I doubt this will happen, since ppl seem to enjoy how games turn into stomps every other match.
I for one miss the hard carrying games where one team did everything they could to avoid losing early, but made a kickass comeback after the 30-40 minute mark.

What if we just like...buffed Fortify? Made it last longer and made the tower do a significant amount more damage?

they need to make towers stronger or something. the main problem I have with the pushing meta is how viable split pushes are. heros like lycan and furion scale so well with cheap items that they can easily 1v1 most of the single heros that would tp back to defend against them, and can kill the tower in seconds if it's left unguarded.
