TA needs no skill to play?

TA needs a shitload of skill to play if the enemy has some DoT spells. Early on with her piss shit range, getting in range for Meld is pretty taxing. Add in MoC + Blink usage etc, and TA is not really a simple hero to play.

his ion shell doesnt care bout refraction, he can vacuum her to cancel meld, and can surge to ignore trap slow

Considering a skillful Lanaya will solo mid,Leshrac is one of the best heroes since hit-on-groud stun will remove her out of meld,if you gank her(won't be that hard) you get a tower,and later on you can count on pulse nova to remove refraction charges.

TA is a very skill-dependant hero. if you play better than whoever's handling her you'll mostly be fine. it also helps to play a couple rounds with her just to see her side of the game.

Same as with every hero, Doom. Doom counters everyone. Not just his ultimate too, scorched earth will eat through refraction, Lanaya is squishy and will pop from lvl? death, while Doom is bulky so he can survive her initial burst. Of course, his ultimate shuts her down hard, disabling blinking, melding, refraction, and melting her to bits.

Venomancer, rightclick, win lane.

Midgame fights, you can use heroes like alch to do the periodic damage. Especially with rad, alch is going to strip her naked pretty fast. If lanaya is fat, it won't do too much because lanaya can snipe alch pretty easily.

Ghosts on supports.

Lategame ownage, lanaya is pretty much a single-target hero (shockwave on cleave doesn't have practical implications in most situations) with gimped range. Steroids, as DPS-boosters... well, only meld is something that truly counts, and not as much at that point either.

Many heroes can counter Lanaya, as some ppl said above, Axe and Veno and Dark Seer are some of the best. Slark also, and Tiny. I think Tiny's Avalanche does many little instances of dmg, so it can cancel refraction easily, plus if used properly, the standard Avalanche>Toss combo can kill her, if not drain up her life

Ion Shell and Diabolic Edict laugh at refraction's hit count and melts it away within a second or so.

So you gank her before 6? She won't even be staying in lane much after 6 anyway. A simple lesh mid&ganking furion combo (for example) can get multiple kills on her and kill her tower way before level 6.

Mid lane, QoP works very well. Shadow strike ftw, and you can control runes better aswell, you have an escape mec.

Slardar and balanar really counter her. First of all, he cannot really kill them. Secondly, they can prevent lanaya's invisibility and give her a hard time overall.

Viper although previously mentioned should really do the trick, both 1v1 mid and in general. Packing Dust/Sentries is recommended to prevent Meld's disjoint from being a factor in engagements.
