A |hadO'W'izarD|'s Introduction Guide Of the Chieftain

Hero Introduction

The Tauren Chieftain is a strong physical damage dealer who can disable and destroy many heroes at once with his spells. Most of the Chieftain's abilities revolve around the guardian spirit which aids him in battle. Using Ancestral Spirit, Cairne can temporarily separate the guardian spirit from himself. While the spirit is separate, it causes damage to enemies it strikes and mimics the Chieftain's movement and Echo Stomp ability. When the spirit and Cairne rejoin, he gains a boost to his physical damage and move speed, the strength of which depends on how many enemies the spirit collided with. This makes him a very dangerous physical attacker, especially combined with his offensive aura, Natural Order. This ability reduces the base armor and magic resistance of all nearby units, giving the Chieftain's attacks and spells a significant boost to their damage. His final ability is called Earth Splitter, a powerful area of effect spell which can cause severe damage and disable many enemies at once. Since it takes a few seconds to have any effect and is easy to dodge on its own, it's best to combo this ability with either Echo Stomp or allied disabling spells. However, if multiple enemy heroes are hit by this ability, it generally spells their doom.

Background story

Since ancient times it has been prophesized by the Tauren elders that a Chieftain will come, strong as the mightiest warriors and wise as the eldest shamans. After many years of wandering the sacred lands, seeking wisdom from his forefathers, Cairne Bloodhoof has proven himself as the long awaited hero. Cairne carries with him the spirit of his mightiest ancestor, and now the ground shakes with the combined strength of the Chieftain and his guardian spirit. No physical nor magical barrier can reduce the power of his enchanted halberd, the weapon used by his guardian in ancient times. Such is the power of this axe that it can split the very earth itself. Seeking revenge for the ravaging of his homeland, Cairne will soon bring his wrath upon the Scourge.

Basically, I learn Echo Stomp as my initial skill as there are chances of early ganking at lvl 1 and Tauren Chieftain with his formidable large AOE (area of effect) has a chance of ganking at the early game. Besides, it can also be used for supporting/eluding or escaping from enemies while facing fatal early nukers.

After which, I learn Ancestral Spirit as my next skill as its evident for it has a cast range of 1000. Besides, its a nerve in the head to go near enemy hero or units and use Echo Stomp due to its channeling ability were stun heroes i.e. disablers can easily disable its cast. So, the Ancestral Spirit plays it part as a mirage illusion of the Chieftain enabling it to have a successful hit from a range distance and I optimize this skill to lvl 4 1st followed by Natural Order and Echo Stomp (skill at lvl 2).

Echo Stomp lvl 2 .?

Basically, Echo Stomp although, is evident if it is max at 1st due to its eternity stun ability for 5 sec. However, the damage dealt is same and theres only an increase in the stun duration. So, an lvl 2 i.e. 3 sec stun is enough for a gank. Besides, youll be hitting the enemy after the successful stun which eventually disables your 5 sec stun ability. Instead of this skill, Natural Order (3rd skill) could be a wise alternative. Why??

Natural Order will be an advocative combination with Earth Splitter (Ultimate) as it drastically reduces the enemy base magical as well as physical resistance dealing more damage to the enemy. So, that will be like an additional damage dealt to his enemies.Besides, it goes a good combination with Ancestral Spirit,as Ancestral Spirit helps as Tauren chieftain replica, possessing the "passive" Natural Order ability along with the Ancestral Spirit..So the effect of resistance reduction still works even without the presence of the original chieftain..

Skill Combination:

1st) + 2nd) + 3rd)

Firstly, use Ancestral Spirit at heroes or target at the ground ahead of the enemy when the enemies are withdrawing, then use Earth Stomp. After a successful hit (stun), release your ultimate for an accurate or I should say a perfect Earth Splitter.

STRATEGY:

Item build:

1) Items for T.Chieftain:

A) Starting item build: Basically, while playing a 5 versus 5 AP mode game, a player has 600 gold. The item below will be efficient in the early game. After which, you gradually upgrade it to the basic item shown below at B.

2xTangos,1 Gauntlets of Strength and 1 Circle of Nobility

B)Elementary/Basic item builds:
++++

In the early game,
these items are effective in the battle. Because 2x bracers provide an accumulate strength of 12 and with combination of 10 strength from P.Threads, that will be like having bonus 418hp. Besides, bottle and ring of bacillus provide hp regeneration, mana regeneration which is evident in the early-game. Moreover, you can directly depend on them till mid-game and instead instantly head for core items saving your gold.

Which lane should the chieftain usually initiate in the earlys??

Basically,
he should initiate with the top or the bottom lane where he can synergies with a suitable alliance that can advocate in the battle i.e combat during the game , probably a stunner or a disable which enables him to release a perfect echo stomp.

In the mid-game,
he can be an early ganker in the game. So, adhere and integrate firmly with allies as you're the core initiator in the game for it has a versatile range of casting spells enabling heroes(Enemies) in befalling in the trap of the chieftain which will eventually be an easy kill for your alliance due to its long duration stun which enables your alliance to mark the positions and KO!.In addition, OBSERVER WARDS will be necessary in the mid-game as there is going to be high ganking situations during this contemporary situation and if the heroes i.e enemies tries ganking at your neutral creeping area, instead will befall at their own trap(Blind leading the blinds).How?..Chieftain with its versatile range of casting spells can easily subdue the opponents compelling the to take the stun as there is hardly and dodging place through the terrains. So, they will get hit by the Earth Splitter and instead get a counter-gank.

In the late-game,
this hero's ultimate will much more efficient as late gamers in the late game rather than that of an early or mid-game for heroes will be building core items such as heart which boost the heroes(Enemies) vitality and that will be a plus point for the chieftain as it deals 35%dmg based on accumulated HP(In actual fact it's about 31.888%-32.1245% based on the hp.The more the hp the hero possess, the fatal damage it gets.)..That's GG.For instance, in the mid-game , heroes will have about 1500hp-2000hp.So, he will deal about 525hp to 700hp.However, if an enemy hero has about 3000-3500hp, he will dealt 1050hp to 1225hp..that's no small sum..

FAQs about the chieftain:-

Arcane or Bottle ??

OR

Arcane is also useful for Chieftain but not recommended due to its cost and instead directly head for other items which are much more effective as well as efficient later at the game.

.............

Theres always a debate about which item among the 3 of them to get for T.Chieftain. But, I recommend threads for it is cheap, formidable and gives 30IAS, plus bonus STR, Agi, Intel attributes although it has lower agile mobility than that of Boots of Travel and Phase Boots.

C) Core Items:

The items below are the core builds for chieftain. So, you can build any of those items as your core item. Basically, Chieftain being primarily a strength hero, strength items such as Heart and Satanic will boost its vitality in the combat. Besides, BKB or Linkens Sphere will advocate him in successful Echo Stomp. Vanguard, Bloodstone and Valds offering will also be useful in the game for Chieftain for it provides Defense, Hp, life steal, mp as well as hp & mp regeneration.

Basically, i did not put Sange And Yasha at my core list as there are other items much more necessary or i should say important in the game.
D)Items not recommended:

{How many carry heroes is needed in a game? Answer: 1 or 2 (At most)}

These are the items which I find it futile or I should say a frail item for Chieftain and will be useless for him in the game as I find Chieftain not a carry hero although he can be become one because its primary nature is strength and he has the vitality to do so as a strength hero.

Supportive Build:

Chieftain can also be a made supporter in the game with those items below providing essential assist to his allies.

Synergy/Good Allies:

These heroes combos go extremely well with Tauren Chieftain.
For instance, Heroes such as Necrolyte, Lion, Lina with their ultimate Reapers Scythe, Finger Of Death, Laguna Blade respectively can have almost have an instance death upon enemies when enemies are affected by Earth Splitter. In addition, AOEs heroes like Enigma, Earth Shaker, Proud Moore, Tiny, Treant Protector, Tide hunter, Magnus etc. will be a useful source of combination with Chieftain.

Bad enemies:

Heroes who have the ability to disable his channeling skill.

Did you know???

Some interesting facts about the chieftain are as follows:-
1)Items such as culling blade and MKB makes his attack hit vertically just like having a Battle fury on him.

2)His ultimate i.e Earth Splitter still deals damage to heroes even if they are under the influence of BKB which includes the Maim effect.

3)While the enemy heroes are affected by the echo stomp, it will not move until a hero has hit him.

Replays:-Yet to have a pro replay of chieftain
