Spawn Spiderlings
Spawn spiderlings is an incredibly versatile and effective move. It is a standard nuke, with a low mana cost and cooldown [75-75/90-150/105-225/120-300. 10 seconds at all levels]. The key part of this spell, that makes it stand out, is the secondary effect of a buff placer. If a unit dies within 0.9 seconds of Spawn Spiderlings hitting it, or from the nuke damage, up to 4 spiderlings will spawn from its corpse [1/2/3/4]. These spiderlings can spawn spiderlites, by placing a furthur buff upon units they attack, causing 1 more spiderlite to spawn from the unit's death.
Each spiderling gives around 9-12 gold, and a minimal amount of experience to the enemy. However, as it is a highly spammable spell, bad micro can cause you to feed the enemy with these spiderlings, giving them a massive advantage in terms of gold and experience within the lane.
Spawn Spiderlings has 6 main uses.
1) Standard nuke
2) Mass spiderlings/push
3) Jungle (from level 1 or while in lane)
4) Scouting (runes/enemies)
5) Harrassing
6) Destroying wards

Spin Web
Spin Web is her bread and butter to lane control and harrassment. It gives invisibility, health regen, and movement speed [2-20%/4-23%/6-26%/8-29%]. When she has her webs, she can stay in the lane indefinitely, even if the enemy buys wards to detect her. Whether or not she can be seen within her web, she still gains the buff of speed and regen, meaning that if they buy wards and harrass you, you only need to spin webs furthur back in the lane, sit in them, regenerate your health, and play defensively until the moment strikes to get revenge.
Placement of the webs depends all on the way the game is going, and the strategy you are trying to pull. Once you level the webs up higher, key places to put them are places such as the secret shops (theirs especially), runes, roshan, or in their neutrals if you are playing especially aggressive.

Incapacitating Bite
Her orb is a very useful, synergising skill. It slows her enemies substancially, gives a minor increase to damage (8 extra damage at lvl 4), and, most importantly for her late game carrying abilities, it causes the enemy to miss with a fairly decent chance. This miss chance stacks with evasion, meaning she can still viably get a butterfly.
If you take this skill early game, combined with her web, it gives her great lane control and harrassing power, especially in lanes versus more dps oriented heroes.

Insatiable Hunger
Gives good lifesteal and damage. More of a late game oriented skill UNLESS you skip spiderlings and max web/bite
When to use:
If your aim for early game is to put pressure on the enemy and force them to pay attention to you, so your allies can farm
If the lane you are versing has low AoE and the spiderlings won't just be food

Justification: As this build is based purely on a hard push strat, Spawn Spiderlings is maxed by level 7. If you choose to take Spawn Spiderlings at level 3 or 4 depends upon your lane. If you are finding yourself harrassed hard or even ganked, an extra level of Spin Web (or 2 extra webs) can help you play defensively and not take so many risks. However, if your lane is looking like a breeze for pushing with almost no AoE (i.e. warlock/sa/viper/doom/lycan/etc.), then early levels of Spawn Spiderlings can give you an early advantage.
Provided your pushing and farming are going well, by level 8 you can decide if you want to go more offensive carry or continue a pusher brood by levelling either Spin Web or Incapacitating Bite.
Item Build
Starting items:

Total cost: 568 gold.
Justification: Slipper of agility to make into a PMS, RoP to make into a RoB. Healing pot/trees incase your lane is high in harrassment, and a GG branch to make sure its a good game.
Core:

Total cost: 2500

OR

OR

Justification
This might seem like a very small core build - and it is! To push efficiently with brood, all you need is a RoB for regen, treads (interchangable between str/int/agi depending on need), and a PMS for early game harrassment. Beyond that, the item choice is up to you.
- Pick BKB against a disable heavy team, where your role might morph into a more carry/dps build as the game progresses, and your sole role isn't pushing anymore.
- Pick Orchid when you need heavy mana regen for hard, long term pushes, and also where you don't intend on leaving the lane (as all components can be bought from the side shop). It also is effective against "flyers", such as Storm/PotM/Morphling, silencing them from running away while you eat them.
- Pick Linkens against a few single target stuns, and also if you intend on keeping a pushing role as the game progresses. It gives decent regen, and decent stats, but is a very situational item on brood.
Optional:
->
Personally, I am not a fan of Vlads as a core on Brood. She already has an insane lifesteal in her ultimate, and doesn't need to spend the money on a minor percentage more.
However, if nobody else is getting one and you are either struggling to farm anything for whatever reason, it does have a nice build up, or if you are looking for another item to help with your pushing, it is a viable item to get.
Hero Synergy
Mana givers

Brood needs mana to push. These heroes give her an unlimited supply of mana. She likes them.
Special mention:

Lycan's howl does special things to Brood's pushing ability - +16 damage for each beautiful spiderling. Now imagine a massive army of spiderlings, and each one doing almost double damage. Lycan and brood in the same team make a dangerous pushing ability that few heroes can match.
Hero Counters:
Any strong AoE
When to use:
Picking Brood as an early game hero killer/late game carry is viable a lot of the time. She has a strong lane presence, good harrassing animation/last hitting animation, an almost unmatched farming ability as she can neut as well as lane at the same time,

1. The Broodmother's Story
Once a Queen of the Nerubians, she struck fear into the hearts of those she ruled. However she made the fatal mistake of falling in love with the renegade assassin Anub'Arak , and was banished from her own kingdom. Now she accompanies her true love in the battle of the Ancients, bearing his offspring as a symbol of her undying love. An expert in weaving webs of deception, she has the power of incapacitating those who dare attack her, and sowing in them the seeds of her offspring which then tear out of the corpse of the unfortunate victim. Her lust for battle helps her grow stronger and sustain herself, leading many to believe that her hunger for flesh is insatiable.
