Legion Commander

Background Story
My name is Tresdin, and there is a great threat growing in my kingdom. And that threat is the waves of filthy non-human refugees who litter our street corners and whose mongrel languages are belted out in every pub! I didn’t become the greatest general this kingdom has seen in hundreds of years to see my lands reduced to this, but that will be dealt with shortly. For now my axe is called to battle the hordes of darkness that threaten every human in these lands. I march to turn the tables on these horrors, and I dare even one of them to test me in single combat! I go to see things are taken care of the right way, the human way!
Skills
Overwhelming Odds

Turns the enemies numbers against them, dealing damage and granting you 9% bonus movement speed per hero and 3% per unit in the 315 AoE for 7 seconds. Deals bonus damage to illusions and summoned units.
A decent nuke, escape and chase mechanism and very good for pushing. I don’t recommend getting it early game unless you really want to heavily harass. If that is the case, take it instead of press the attack except for the first level.
Press the Attack

Removes all debuffs and disables from the targeted ally and grants them bonus attack speed and health regen for 4 seconds.
A very good heal, it will keep you in the battle and in the lane, it can even be used for a fast kill with a good dps range hero or with a slowing attack. Taking it at first level will prevent most first blood attempts.
Moment of Courage

When Tresdin is attacked, he has a chance to gain a moment of courage, instantly attacking again with bonus lifesteal.
Your main skill, this has to be maxed as fast as you can, because in a duel you rely on it heavily. At level 4 you can safely go into the jungle and keep on leveling there.
Duel

Calls the targeted enemy for a duel. Both you and the enemy will be forced to attack each other and will both be unable to use items or abilities. The victor gains 10 permanent bonus damage.
Your main spell, try to cast this as often as you can. In the beginning it’s best to aim for weakened opponents, because of the short duration it is nearly impossible to kill a full hp opponent without a heavy damage supporter. It doesn’t matter who gets the kill, the only thing that matters is that you win the duel, because no matter who kills him, you get the duel bonus damage.

Laning
Against two melee heroes it's quite easy, just last hit the creeps and always try to deny your own. If one of them are foolish enough to attack you without a stun support, feel free to attack them back, because your passive skill is extremely powerful and Press the Attack will keep you alive. If there is a ranged hero that keeps harassing you, take one level of overwhelming odds (instead of moment of courage) and harass them back.
Starting items
2x Ancient Tango of Essifation – this will allow you to be more aggressive early game. They also come in handy against those pesky ranged heroes.
2x Clarity Potion – since commander has a relatively small mana pool, you'll need mana to keep spamming overwhelming odds or being extra agressive using press the attack.
2x Gauntlets of Ogre Strength – aside from giving you extra hitpoints, you will want to make an urn later on for mana and heal.
Core items
Phase Boots - most of the time the extra movement boost and phasing ability will be enough to catch anyone with your duel. The bonus damage doesn't hurt either.
Blade Mail - an absolute must have for a duelist, it gives you mana to keep yourself and allies alive with press the attack, you get bonus damage and armor. Also never forget to activate it before the duel, especially against carry heroes.
Urn of Shadows - as i mentioned before, it's useful to keep yourself in the battle or as an extra damage boost during the duel.
Luxury items
Battle Fury, Desolator, Buriza-Do Kyanon, Assault Cuirass
In late games, after you've won plenty duels, you'll want to be able to do something with that damage. Battle fury will make you an amazing pusher, as well as give you the power to take on multiple heroes. Desolator will give you heavy extra damage to break even the toughest of tankers. Buriza also does this, but the critical hit damage doesn't work in a duel. Assault curiass is the most advised one, because you'll have a lot of damage already thanks to duels, while the armor will give you extra tankiness.
Tips!
If the enemy team has two or more blinkers/wind walkers or if you're the main focus of the enemy team:
Lothar's Edge – Those pesky blinkers are such annoyance because they're usually fragile but you just can't catch them. An additional bonus to the wind walk ability is extra damage and attack speed.
If the enemy team has more than two disablers:
Black King Bar - you absolutely need this because when you duel you can't afford any distractions.
If the enemy team has two ranged harassers in your lane or several nukers:
Vanguard – Usually the passive will keep you alive but against spells and ranged attacks it's kind of... less effective.
Heart of Tarrasque – insane amount of hitpoints and regen, as well as even more damage!
Who to target for your duel?
In the beginning you want to target either spellcasters or low health heroes, in other words, duels you know you will win. In bigger battles always target the main disabler. Commander heavily relies on team support and should never try to engage solo duels because even enemies can benefit from Commander’s ultimate.
Your friends:
AoE stunners like Sven and Earthshaker will allow you to catch enemies more easily and they’ll become more effective since you’ll probably be a main focus during a duel.
Disruptor is perhaps Commander’s best friend, he sets up your own personal arena to duel someone as well as giving you an epic storm that silences and damages everyone nearby! Skywrath Mage benefits as much from your ultimate as well as you’ll benefit from his. Omniknight is the best supporter with either healing and damaging or repeling you so you can duel in peace.
Your enemies:
Shadow Shaman will demolish you with his net, not with damage but absolutely countering your duel with it. Same goes for similar long lasting disablers such as Pudge, Bane and Obsidian Destroyer, who is probably one of the worst enemies you can have. He can ruin your duel by either banishing the target or you.
