Diretide is an annual Dota 2 event starting October 30th.

THIS IS A SPECIAL GAMEMODE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO GET MORE DOTA2 COSMETIC ITEMS AND FILL UP YOUR GREEVIL EGG WITH ESSENCES UNTIL IT HATCHES INTO A GREEVIL COURIER. IT HAS THREE (3) PHASES BEFORE YOU FIGHT THE DIRETIDE ROSHAN.

HOARD THE MOST CANDIES
The first objective of the game is to collect more candies against the opposing team for the first 20 minutes.

You can get candies (called Greevil Taffy) by killing Roshlings, Neutral Creeps, Candy Bucket or any hero who has it. The candies have an active ability that you can use on Roshan or throw it inside the bucket.

Lowers 7.5 percent max hp per candy (your left with 1 hp if you carry more than 14 pieces)
An overhead buff displays how many candies the hero has
Buckets drop 1 candy every 2 attacks
All heroes get 75 exp for every candy thrown in the bucket

Roshlings give 2 candies at most but you need to attack it before it can drop candy or else it will just die out. Leaving you candyless.
Neutral Creeps can give you up to 2 candies.
Candy Bucket (of the enemy team) drops candies after a few attacks. Every drop lowers the candies the bucket holds by 1 point. It will not drop anything when it hits zero. Each candy lengthens your TP time. Only hero attacks count.
Enemy Heroes drops all the candies in their inventory piece by piece.

Roshan wakes up from his slumber looking for candies. He will look for anyhero alternating between teams and ask for Greevil Taffies. If you don't feed him, he will chase you and whack you to death.

Give Roshan 1 candy when he is aiming one of your teammates. This will change his target to your enemies, viceversa
He deals 360 damage and his movespeed improves overtime
You can use slow spells to delay his movement
Roshan is immune from all sorts of stun except Hex and MS slow

KILL THE BEAST
After 10 minutes from waking up he eats all the candy bucket with the most Greevil Taffies then walks towards the winning camp and his ready to fight. The team with the highest candies collected wins the item at the start of the game.

Diretide Roshan has 4 abilities and a huge 150,000 HP with a base armor of 30. Every candy he eats gives him 2 bonus armor.

Apocalypse casts Sunstrike at the position of hero units away from 400 units (from center of Rosh) up to 1200 range. Deals 3000 pure damage in 200 aoe after 2 seconds. Damage is shared to units within the aoe.

He channels for 2 seconds then unleashes a Wave of Force disabling all enemy attacks and pushing them outward for 600 magic damage per wave. Framework is Requiem of Souls.
