Windrunner winds up her bow for up to 1 second to perform a single powerful shot. The arrow travels up to 1700 distance, dealing damage and destroying trees in its path. The damaged dealt is greatest to the first target it hits and is reduced by 10% with each other it passes through.

• This skill has a short channeling time. If canceled before Alleria finishes channeling, the arrow will deal less damage.

Imbues her body with the essence of wind, increasing her movement speed by 50% and giving her the ability to evade all physical attacks for a short period of time. Additionally, the gusts of wind around her impairs the movement of nearby enemies, slowing their movement speed in a 300 AoE around her.

• With Aghanim's Scepter it no longer reduces damage from secondary item effects (Like bonus damage from Bash, Chain Lightning).

So we finally reach the most important section of this guide,but before starting,i want to have a little explaintion of Windrunner skills Shackle Shot This is your Stuning/Interupting tool.The windrunner fires an arrow which binds the enemy to a tree or unit behind it at almost 522 units behind it.Probably,this is one of the hardest skills in dota to use effectively.There must be a unit or a tree behind the target for full stun duration or it just stun that target for 0.75 seconds.Overall,use this skill in teamfights and ganks as an initation tool.Here are some pics that shows how to using Shackle Shot effectively Power Shot Your main nuke.Use this skill to harass/kill heroes and finishing creep waves.Remember,the damage is reduced by each unit it passes through,so if you want to harass your enemy hero,try only hit him/her for dealing full damage.The range is 1800,AoE is 360 (Area of Efect) and the missile speed is 3000 units per second.The cooldown of this skill makes it spamable,so use it whenever it's possible.You can also make escaping routs by destroying trees whit this skill.Here are some pics that show's how to Power Shot effectively Windrunner One of the best chasing/escaping mechanism in Dota.This skill gives windrunner 50% MS and the ability to evade all physical attacks for a short period of time.Combined with Phase boots gives you almost maximum speed.Remember this is one of the most windrunner's useful skills in mind games.You can almost do anything whit this skill.Slowing enemy to land a perfect shackle shot,blocking fleeing heroes to let your mates finishing them,tanking Ursa's overpower and Troll's ult or even tanking enemy towers.Also,remember that attack projectiles before this skill activated can't be evaded and the slow affect magic-immune units.Use this skill when you're focused or when you're chasing enemies. __________________________________ Focus Fire Finally,your ult.The skill which transforms you into a natural machingun.Gives windrunner maximum attack speed for 20 seconds.Sadly,you can only target one enemy and damage is reduced in this state.So,lvling this skill is useless early game because of your low early damage.Best combined with a nice orb effect and aghanims.lvl up this skill only when you got enough damage or an orb-based item.Diffusal blade,Mjolinir and satanic is my favorite,but you can go for any other orbs you like.Anyway,use this skill to destroying towers or finishing squishy heroes and,of course,killing roshan.Here are some pics showing how to use FF effectively. |
Role
As you may know,Windrunner is from the few heroes who can fulfill 2 rules at the same time that called a Hybird hero.Like Visage which can be a Tank/Ganker or Invoker Who can almost play every role in games.So lets see what roles Windrunner can fulfill in games: So,you may say now"which role should i choose on games?" First,it depends on your game(Pub,Clan,Competitive,etc) In pubs,you can be your team's Main carry or a hybird between carry/Anti carry.Try offensive skill build and option 1/3/4 core item build and option 2 luxury build. In Clan games,Windrunner usualy played as a Hybird between Carry/Ganker.Try offensive skill build and option 3/4 core item build and option 1 luxury build. In competitive game,Windrunner usualy plays a Hybird-role between Ganker/Support.You must do your best to support your carries.Try Defensive skill build and option 2/3 core build and option 1/2 luxury build. Note:You can choose every role you want.It only depends on the situation of the game. |
Gameplay
Early game Most of the Windrunner players usualy want soloing middle lane.If you want to solo try these
Or The choice is yours.So,when the first wave start to walk away,block them to have an advantage on the enemy.Your early game should be spent on lasthiting,denying and harassing.Windrunner has 600 attack range and the lowest BAT after AM,So never hesitate to harass your enemy.Try to have an eye on mini-map and runes.If your early solo goes well,you should have about 65-70 creeps by 11-12 min mark of the game.After you hit lvl 8-10 go ganking with your mates.Try to use a rune for that.As i said Farm your way and always be aware of anything THINGS TO AVOID: Death:If you see your gettin ganked,activate Windrunner and run the hell out. Mid Game By now you should have at last 2 or 3 of your cores.The only thing you should do is to gank as much as possible.Go for solo ganks only if you think you can handle your enemy by your own.Othewise,call your mates and gank with your mates.Use Focus Fire to get towers and always carry some TP scrolls.Try to push lanes if your not ganking and remember,put one eye on yhe minimap.Also buy and put wards if there's no1 buying wards.Always be coordinated with your team and like i said,never try KSing people. THINGS TO AVOID: Death:Like i said,run the hell out if your focused or gettin ganked. Too much farming:Never stay in lanes too long.Just start gankin when you hit 8-10.Just farm when you see your lanes are pushed hard. Late Game This is where you shine.By now you should have your luxury items.Just gank enemies and push lanes like hell in this phase of game.Here's amethod on how to killing enemies:

No need to say anything about these guys.Your 3.75 sec stun+Their skills=Guaranteed Kill.
DPS carries
Your Shackle Shot gives them free time to do their dirty work.
Burst Damage Dealers
With your stun and their high burst damage any enemy is as good as dead.
Special Mention
This guy is your best friend.Because his sprout's trees are valid targets for shackle shot which means:5 sec semi-disable+3.75 sec reliable disable=GG.
I like to put OD as one of the special buddies of windrunner.Why?
His Astral prison gives you the time to position yourself for a perfect shackle shot.Also,his aura lets you to spam you power shot if you're in lane with him.And finally,your 3.75 sec disable gives him free time to kill enemies with his Arcane orb.
Why Drow could be a great help to alleria?Because:
1:Her aura increase your damage outpot a lot.
2:Her slow gives you time to perform a shackle shot.
3:She's like you.Is she your sister?
Worst Enemies
One of alleria's nightmares.Usually goes solo so you meet this ugly bastard in middle lane.Completly fucks your early farming using her web.Her spiders are enough to take you down by themselves because of your pathetic early hp.Windrun does not help you much because of her slow and finaly campletly restore her health by her ult. Alleria can be easily owned by a pro-playing ursa.By the 400% attack speed boost and his fucking orb effect he can take you down with just 2 or 3 hits which you don't have the time to activate windrun.Even if you do that,he uses earthshock and completly fucks your windrun. The famous lightspeed-permabashing shitrol warlord.Just needs to activate ult and start perma-bashing you to death.Your windrun fails to protect you because every troll player usually carry a lothar for ambushing enemies.So,it seems you can't do anything if you see this bastard. PA is another hard hero to deal with.Usually goes solo mid and she can easily own you if played well.Your windrun can't help you whit this one hit on kill hero.Also if you survive her attacks,she simply cast her long range slow and finish you off. Your worst nightmare.Has the ability to perma-bashing you to death and when you use windrun,he uses ult and remember,his ult disable your evasion.So you can't do anything against him. Doom counter every hero in dota.Simply by casting spells and killing you very fast with his ult.Also usaully goes solo mid and can easily outfarm you. The ultimate anti-windrunner item.It's like radiance against templar assassin.If any of your enemies get this item,you completly fucked up.This shit's true strike can take you realy fast.Just try to flee from anyone carying this shit. |
