"For my people"

Positives:

- Most versatile int hero
- Strong throughout the game
- Relatively easy farmer
- Strong lane control
- One of the best team heroes
- Strong aoe and 1v1 abilities
- Strong solo hero

Negatives:

- Takes some practice
- Not a hardcore carry
- Not great for dual or tri laning

Hero introduction

The Invoker is the most well-rounded spellcasting hero, due to his massive array of spells. Using his three elemental reagents and his Invoke skill, the Invoker can utilize a total of 10 different spells. Due to his complexity and fragility, the Invoker is a bad choice for newer players. With some experience, however, he becomes a force to be reckoned with. The Invoker is capable of massive area of effect damage, powerful disabling spells, very strong summons, and potent enchantments. While other spellcasters tend to be focused in one area, the Invoker has the ability to change his role at will. His spells tend to start out weaker than comparable abilities, but since his reagents have 7 levels each his potential spell power is very high. Although mastering his spells takes perhaps the most practice of any hero, he is definitely worth the time.

Background Story

Quas. Wex. Exort. The essence of a storm. The heart of a blizzard. The soul of a phoenix. After his people were broken and scattered to the corners of the earth, Kael was left with only the relics of his once great world. Thirsting for vengeance, he sold his own soul to Ner'Zhul, and in exchange acquired near limitless power. Taking on the mantle of the Blood Mages of old, the Invoker strode into war with nothing but the elements at his command. He can fuse the elements into deadly incantations, tearing apart the very heavens in his fury. His genius knows no bounds, and the Sentinel shall come to know the rage of the Invoker.

Any damage taken in this state will briefly stun them for 0.4 seconds and deal 30 damage. Triggers cooldown between stuns goes from 0.8 to 0.6 seconds based on Quas.

Choosing a skill order

Quas

Skilling Quas first will give you several advantages, bonus hp and extra regen. The constant regen allows you to harass permanently and simply gain control of the lane by having more regen then your opponent does. It also allows you to stay on your lane and survive harassment from heroes like rexxar, tinker, clock and shadow demon.

Cold Snap would be your first spell, which is a great spell in 1v1 situations and can be used to harrash. In general Quas is probably the safest way to play invoker. Since it usually leads to spells that help you escape and defend, give regen and hp.

Spell Combinations & Spell Usage

Tornado & EMP

QWW + WWW

I would max out Wex over Quas because of the movement and attack speed on invoker. The goal of this combination is to drain mana, therefore you should also max out Wex.
Cast EMP first, because it has 600 range and has a larger delay than the tornado. Make sure you cast tornado fast after your EMP otherwise they will escape.

Starting Items

OR

This is what I usually get but you can choose otherwise. The second build doesnt have a lot of regen but works well with a QW invoker.

Follow-up Items

Wex-Quas

I love to get phase boots on Wex-Quas because it drastically increases your farm and harass early on. And with maximizing Wex you will have tremendous movement speed for not a lot of gold.

Core

Guinsoo and Agha are the core items for Invoker. I personally prefer guinsoo, because of the hex and I simply havenít mastered invoker enough to get agha and benefit immensely from the 2 seconds cool down.

Alternative Items

If you have your core, or are having difficulty farming or surviving you can always choose one of the following items as a replacement, temporarily quick fix, or as an extension of your core items.

Item & Spell Combinations

Euls & EMP

EMP has a delay ranging from 3.7 to 2 seconds. Cyclone lasts 2.5 seconds. If Wex is at level 5 the delay is 2.6 seconds, Wex level 6 will decrease the delay to 2.4 seconds. So there is your turning point of what spell to cast first.

Hero Combinations

Invoker has a lot of combinations, since he has so many spells from great aoe to single target.

AOE Friends

These heroes have the wonderfull ability to disable the entire enemey team for several seconds or atleast cluster them together, this is your chance to release some of your furious aoe damage. Spells used best in combination with their spells are Meteor, EMP, Forge Spirit and Alacrity. In certain situations it can be usefull to use other spells as well, such as Deafening Blast in Roof's ulti or Clocks Power Cogs. Or perhaps Cold Snap in Void's ulti if he has trouble killing a strong hero, maybe cast alacrity on void aswell. But defeaning blast wouldnt be the best item in an enigma ulti because those units are completey disabled. In that case you would be better off throwing a Meteor with EMP. Don't use tornado during these ulties because your teammates wont be able to inflict their damage this way, maybe cast it at the end of the ulti.

Special Mention

Tornado & EPIC-Center

+

Torando allows your good friend and teammate the king of the sands get of his ulti which has a 2 channeling delay and inflict full damage! Have fun!

Overall Conclusion

Invoker is one of the strongest heroes in the game due to his enormous versatility. He is best utilized on a solo lane, he really needs to level up fast and he is also a hero that you give farm to. I have tried to explains the basics, so that you can explore the rest. You simply can not master a hero just by reading a guide. Donít be afraid to fail a few games with him.

For now this is the only replay i have, i will add more later im not capable of playing atm thats why i wrote this guide instead
