An outcast of the Spirithoof clan, Barathrum retreated in shame to the Ethereal Plane, feeding off wandering souls to sustain himself, and wandered aimlessly for centuries, alone and miserable. Found and recruited by the Lich King, Barathrum's uncanny speed and wraithlike powers have now been unleashed upon the Material Plane, his lantern able to project nether energy into enemies, sending them backwards with sudden force. With the ability to close the distance between himself and a target in seconds, Barathrum the Spiritbreaker is more than a match for anyone.

This is my first guide, and I do don't acknowledge myself as the GankGod of SpiritBreakers. Go easy on me fellas but I like it dirty too. I'd love constructive criticism, no matter how harsh. Chains and whips excite me. I'm a really fucking pro bara player okay so stfu noobs make this spotlight or i willl slit your throats

Luciela's Barathrum Introduction: Barathrum is a fantastic hero, especially now in 6.72. Most of his other guides are outdated by now, which is why I decided to write my own. Barathrum is, by my opinion, a hugely powerful ganker who can dole out more DPS than a good many Agility heroes by mid-game. His skills enable him to gank quickly and efficiently both solo and with allies.

His ganking power is what I like to call pseudo-global, maintaining vision of his singled-out prey before stunning them and effectively killing them AT 66 MPH OMG TIME TRAVEL YOU'RE BASICALLY USING A FACELESS VOID IN COW FORM LOLOLOL before their allies can even register that their ally is in danger.

Late game, he can build into a tank that can deal out a fair bit of damage on his own, although he still doesn't have that 'DPS carry' potential. Don't be mistaken, however, as Barathrum is as good a early-latemidgame carry as they come.

He is also the only true Hero in DotA. Because he can permabash. Trolllord and AntiAged can go into retirement; make way for Superman(cow).
Is Barathrum the right hero for you?

Armed Bovine Warrior - Battle Armor Advice

Starting Items
IT'S A BUFFET LOLOL

OMFG I BAI ALL OF DEM AHAAHAHAHA

AHAHA, NO. YOU DON'T, MORON.

Gauntlets of Ogre Strength give you brass knuckles of manliness, taking bashing creeps and enemy heroes to a whole new level, stepping up the pain factor on them with +3 bonus damage per knuckle. These metal fists also help you parry those pussy arrows and flying hammers, giving you +19HP. Don't forget, you only have two hands, don't get more than two of these puppies to avoid transforming into Mike Tyson.

Circlet of Nobility ascends Barathrum to royalty, making him all pimpshit with +6 stats. But I want an extra point in strengthhhh!! FUCK THAT POINT. With +2 extra intelligence and 2 extra agility, you become the ultimate Alpha Male, having a greater cranium, larger balls and more gracefulness than any other unit out there. FUSE THE TWO INTO BRACERS AND FORGET THOSE PROSTITUTES. GIRLS WILL COME TO YOU TO SUCK YOUR HUMONGOUS DICK.

Ironwood Branches for cheap stats. +1 All Stats for 53 Gold? Yes please OH WAIT THEN YOU CAN FUSE THEM TOO AND GET A MAGIC WAND THEN BECOME HARRY POTTER OMFGDUMBLEDORELOVESME

Healing Salve can regenerate limbs. Spiritbreaker does not appreciate missing limbs. 400HP over 10 seconds? Watch as your enemies rage as they watch their efforts to kill you go to waste. The tears of many a men will fall.

Tangos make you dance fulfil your drug addiction give you high regeneration on the go. Un-dispel-able 115HP over 16 seconds can potentially save your life when juking. It also helps to absorb some damage from harassment and from when you're clubbing (lanterning) stuff.

Clarity Potions restore your mana so you can charge moar lazers. 100 mana regen over 30 seconds makes this cow a happy once (who quickly become enraged and charges)

Magical Bottle is an excellent ganking item that you can get if you solo mid or decide not to get GankPot. Gives great regeneration inbetween ganks. 135HP/75mana in 3 seconds. Example of Epic Moment: Juke for a couple of seconds and you can turn around, Nether Strike and beat the shit out of whoever tried chasing the Roadrunner. Beep beep THAT. You should probably only get this when you random though.

Magic Stick. Accumulate charges by collecting residual magical energy. Heal 15HP/15mana per charge up to ten charges. Bro-team with Tiny. Sticks and stones and lanterns will break their bones.

Stout Shield and Quelling Blade make you oldschool bro. Axe the crap out of those faggot creeps with your mighty Lumberjack Ax, while deforesting Felwood like a boss. At the same time, block feeble arrows and Bieber-tier swipes with your mighty Oak Barrel. True farming power fitting for the Ghostsnapper.

Boots of Speed synergise with Empowering Haste and make you faster than ever. Outrun that ball-trippin' Juggernaut who's spinning like a 5 year old faggotty child, and turn around and fo' his shit up with boosted damage. You should probably only get this if you random, since you can get some branches on the side.

Furry Ally for when your dickhead allies don't get it for you. Screw them. They should be singing Hallelujah for having you on their team. Now comes in Grunt. Get your Grunt to be your wingman all game long.

Askin' me? What to get? I ain't spooooonfeedin' you. Get with the times, stop sitting on your daddy's lap all day long while we go around gankin'.
Tch.
Fine boy, I'll spoonfeed you, because we of the Rambohoof faction are merciful.

There are actually an infinite number of possible starting builds, but here are three to start you off with if you're new to DotA. You should be able to mix and max the extensions, luxuries and situationals later on based on the information I'll provide you. All builds are considering you PICKED this cow. Go buy the lottery if you randomed this monstrosity (or get some extra branches or Salves)

Barathrum Rambohoof

This is the stat whore build. It gives you large amounts of STR and some extra others on the side early game. Manly +8STR is manly. Tango and Salve supplement your farming, as do your high HP and bonus damage. Nothing stops this monster. Later, Gauntlets are turned into Urn of Shadows and Branches can be turned into Magic Wand and Mekansm

Total Cost: 596 Gold

Let's Defend those Ancients
Here's how you play, I'll lay it all out for you.

General Strategy
Early Game
Early game is a time when Carries struggle and Nukers run rampant; Barathrum thrives in this environment. Thanks to your decent bulk and high damage, you last hit easily in the laning phase and can hold your own even against ranged Heroes, possibly harassing them back in response to their projectiles.
Ganking is very possible even now, so long as you have allies with disables and heavy-damage skills. However, you are still the target of ganks, given your high mid-game threat level. Pay attention to the minimap above all while focusing mostly on last hits with the occasional gank.

Primary Objectives:
Farm
Harass enemy carry if possible
Gank whenever possible
Survive

Mid-Game
You shine here as a feared Ganker and DPSer
