Nevermore, The Shadow Fiend Guide

Welcome to my first guide for Shadow Fiend. This is a guide of my favourite hero and I will show you how to play with him in pubs or in Perspective games, like clan wars, tournaments and more.


First I will show you some basic Information about the hero.

Skills:

Shadowraze

Gives the Shadow Fiend the power to desecrate regions in front of him at varying distances.
Level 1 - 75 damage.
Level 2 - 150 damage.
Level 3 - 225 damage.
Level 4 - 300 damage.
• Damage type: magical
• When Shadow Raze is learned, three independent skills will be given to Nevermore, each one generating a Shadow Raze at a specific distance in front of him.
• Casting range Z: 200
• Casting range X: 450
• Casting range C: 700
• Area of Effect: 275

Necromastery
Whenever the Shadow Fiend kills a unit (both allies or enemies), he stores the unfortunate soul inside of him. For each stored soul he gains 2 bonus damage until his own death releases half of them from bondage.
Level 1 - 16 damage limit.
Level 2 - 30 damage limit.
Level 3 - 46 damage limit.
Level 4 - 60 damage limit.
• Heroes, denies and neutral creeps also provide Bonus damage through Necromastery.
• The more souls Nevermore has, the more powerful Requiem of Souls will be.

Presence of the Dark Lord

The presence of such a horrible creature terrifies nearby enemies, reducing their armor.
Level 1 - 2 armor reduction.
Level 2 - 3 armor reduction.
Level 3 - 4 armor reduction.
Level 4 - 5 armor reduction.
• Fully stacks with other armor reduction abilities and auras.
• Area of Effect: 900

Requiem of Souls

Summons evil spirits around you dealing damage to units in the area. Number of spirits is related to the number of souls stored. Lowers movement speed and damage of nearby units. The closer the units are the greater the effect.
Level 1 - 80 damage for each line, 15% reduction, lasts 5 seconds.
Level 2 - 120 damage for each line, 20% reduction, lasts 5 seconds.
Level 3 - 160 damage for each line, 25% reduction, lasts 5 seconds.
Mana Cost: 150/175/200
Cooldown: 120/110/100
• Damage type: magical
• The amount of damage dealt is related to the number of souls captured with Necromastery.
• Requiem of Souls generates damaging lines around Nevermore, 1 per 2 souls stored, for a maximum of 15 lines.
• The closer the targeted unit is, the bigger the amount of lines affecting him.
• Reduces both movement speed and attack damage of units in a 700 AoE.
• This skill breaks invisibility a short time before it's released.
• This skill has a 1 second cast time
• Area of Effect: 130/1325/1350

Well if you play in pubs your starting items should be:




If you play in clan wars etc where are supports for buying courier you should go with:




Early Game (1-11)
Well from level 1-4 stay in your lane last hitting and denying.
Once you get enough gold buy a . From Level 7 try to gang a bit. Go on a low hp heroes, like luna etc.
Use your shadowrazes (X)(C) and kill him.

Boots:
Well there are different kind of boots for Shadow fiend. The first one are and the other are . I always go with because Treads give you extra 10 health which is great advantage due to you low hp. Also it gives you more attack speed.
If you want to teleport and farm just take some with you.

After getting your boots its time for your positioning item.

There are 2 items that can help you with your positioning.
The first is and the second is .
Well mostly i buy my positiong item depending on my opponents.
If your enemy has skills with long duration like: axe,ancient appartion etc i would go for since they can disable your dagger for a long time.

Mid Game (12-16)
You should take your positiong item since now. Now it's time for some kills. Go to a hero on lane farming and just use your or to position your requiem of souls.
If you have use it, stand OVER him and use your requiem of souls. He will probably die but if he survives use your shadowraze (Z) to finish him of.
Now if you have use it next to him and as soon as possible use your ultimate. I am not sure if he will die. If he not use your shadowraze (Z) to kill him.

Black King Bar

Now it's time to take the most important item for shadow fiend.
With this you will be able to cast requiem of souls without any problem of stunning you. If your enemy team has a lot disablers it's better to buy before your positioning item.

Late Game (17-23)
You should have bkb, dagger, treads, manta, buriza, mkb.
Well basically this is the full item build of shadow fiend, but if you have done a nice farming and nice score you will probably have these items. After winning a team fight go to take their tree/throne.

Good Alies

With his torrent, ghost ship and your requiem of souls its just GG. Its one-hit-ko.

Since they made his stun AOE it's a very good ally for shadow fiend.

With his berseker call he can gather all of your enemy team near him. So bkb, blink, and use requiem of souls.

With his repel you can go without bkb so it's much easier to win the game.

Nothing to Say

Same as roof. He disables your opponents when you own them.
